Democrats exhibit a pectuliar behavior where they adopt the mannerisms of whatever group of people they're talking to. Listen to a Democrat politician given a speech to a crowd of mostly white people and then listen to that same politician give a speech to a crowd of mostly black people. It's why Kamala seemed to have a new accent every week when she was campaigning in a different state. This phenomenon has actually been studied and documented. There's still debate as to why this is the case, but it's observable and reproducible.

That may be the case, but it's still possible to cut somewhere that hurts. This isn't just a chance for Trump to get rid of some useless bureaucrats, but also a valuable opportunity for Trump to demoralize his political opponents. It would sure be a terrible shame if a few RINOs found that the cushy government jobs handed out to their own friends and family started to wind up on the chopping block.

Which is why suddenly the lifer-types like Schumer are in a bit of a snit: If they want to not lose above the micro level, they have to appeal to the mainstream voter, but doing that means a step away from the fringe who will treat that shit as a betrayal. Some local Dem politicians in NY, like Suozzi, correctly saw the writing on the wall ages ago and pivoted accordingly, but the triangulating fucks like Schumer who cynically tried to weaponize these fucks while actively keeping them at bay don't have any remaining wiggle room.

Every political party has it's old guard and it's new guard, factions, coalitions, etc. Every political party goes through life cycles. It makes perfect sense that the younger generations are starting to challenge the existing parties. It's happening in the Dems with the unhinged progressives, but it's also simultaneously happening with the Republicans with the MAGA insurgency challenging the NeoCons and the establishment UniParty types.

The problem is that (as you were saying) the new Dem insurgency is so radical left that it can't appeal to anybody but the radical base or die hard Dems. MAGA has so much more mainstream appeal. It makes no sense for Chuck to keep holding on to power. He's going to get stomped by both Trump and the radicals in his own party. If he had more brains and less ego, he'd realize it's not worth it and walk away.

If the USA is going to gradually transition into Greater Brazil, where every goblin from the southern continent uses it as a zip scheme to commit profitable crime, the political party of lunatics who bribes their constituents and commits regular violent terror attacks on their opposition (as is done everywhere south of the USA) is the one who will likely survive longer. I'm not sure if the current MAGA policies are a sign that won't happen, or just the last thrashing of a drowning demographic.
