Some of the stories of Marine brotherhood I have read over the years are just amazing.

Semper Fidelis isn't just a motto, it is an oath.
It can go both ways. People who had good experiences serving say how great the camaraderie is, those with bad experiences say the Marine Corps is a cult.

The National Guard is only to be used to force Southern schools to integrate at gunpoint. You cannot, by any means, use the National Guard to guard the nation. It's illegal and the Supreme Court says so. Kavanaugh and Barrett have fulfilled the sacred Republican duty of rolling over and handing the win to people who want them dead regardless.
which will almost certainly be a second argument used by the admin when they actually argue. as i said before (but am willing to say to you again because you listen) this is a preliminary ruling specifically on the stay, because the stay is vital to the states' argument that it's unconstitutional.

actual arguments will be made at a later date on the real meat of this issue, which is currently if the admin attempted to rely on local authorities first (they did) and they will cite precedent from alabama as well. they couldn't cite precedent on the stay.

Literally yes, the AP one, so why do you ask
then why are you not aware that this is only a ruling on the stay, and not a ruling on the case? kavanaugh and barrett have consistently shown that they prefer to handle cases in the courtroom rather than deal with the fallout of a badly-prevented stay.

I have an honest question: if trump stepped down after christmas would we be better or worse off with Vance? Putting all the memes aside how good is Vance at actually implementing and solving policy issues?
Has to be two years and one day into his term so Vance gets two years (minus one day) and two terms.

Otherwise Vance would max out at six years.

You failed to mention Germany
I don't know what will happen with Germany. It still vaguely remembers being an economic power and the people might eventually snap and take matters into their own hands, but there's no guarantee of that. It could just implode into a mess of migrant gangs who rape all the children.

It basically is.

USMC basic training has a very heavy component of behavioural conditioning that borders on brainwashing, and the Marines bond over the fact that they suffered the same brutal process to become a Marine. Either you accept the programming and survive, or you wash out.

Considering the types of situations Marines have historically been sent into, the kind of troops created by that training were probably the only troops that could achieve victory. Just look at the Pacific theatre of WWII. The Japanese were superior in numbers and logistics, but they were scared shitless of the American Marines and got beaten again and again by them.

To blow things out of proportion Fatpacks-style for the sake of a funny post (to me anyway, and hopefully others too).

Honestly I don't care that much about the National Guard thing, I don't think they're actually doing much. Some Afghan shooting two of them is all I've really heard about it for a while now.

Completely possible the Supreme Court throws libs a bone on this one but then comes right back and ends birthright citizenship, which would be delightful.

This hugbox of a thread is worthless with posters like you in it. I wonder if reporting your shit reply would even result in action. If nothing else it would prove this place is just a dumping ground for civnats to pump in a circle over whatever empty promise the Trump administration has made recently.
If this is an circlejerk why are you so adamant at pissing on everyone’s good time? Imagine going to a circlejerk and being mad people are having fun. Unhinged behavior.

It is the theater equivalent of a kid taking their toys home because somebody beat them at a baseball game
Broadway is culturally irrelevant. Most of their “fans” are bored schoolchildren, retirees, and tourists who promptly forget about the show as soon as they see the giant M&M next door.

If they want to make themselves even more irrelevant, that’s not my problem.

Republicans need to learn that these people hate you and that you shouldn’t give them money. Hamilton in particular is an anti-American show that defiles the memory of the Founding Fathers and I’m glad it’s not being performed in the Capitol for the country’s 250th anniversary.

I recall viewing a couple videos back when the National Guard rolled into Memphis, and how a few residents gave their thanks to Trump because they hadn't heard any shootings or seen any suspicious activity on the sidewalks while they were around.

To me, the Guard is like putting a Band-Aid on a severed limb, but regardless it does make some places safer for a brief period of time.

Hamilton is fucking disgusting racist trash, and Lin-Manuel Miranda should be hanged for defaming the founding fathers the way he did.

The only good thing about Hamilton is the hilarious title of the porn parody, Hamiltoe.

It is more of a hearts and minds campaign than a long-term solution, but it could lead to a permanent solution.

The citizens of the areas the Guard is being deployed to pacify have often been screaming to their local politicians to do something to make the streets safer, to no avail. Trump sends in the Guard to clean up. The people of those areas see that a Republican did something where Democrats had failed to forever. This will lead to some people questioning why they have been voting Democrat, and if enough change their vote next time, things will be improved.
