i'm surprised you're surprised...sonichu and the lego thing were never more than explorations of the fantasy world in his brain, he'll never do sonichu again because lego cwcville is private, performs the same functions as sonichu, and can't be desecrated by pranksters

Sonichu was merely part of the CWCville thing at large, since it was set there.

I don't think Chris is done with Sonichu....or making videos. They are just the ace in his sleeve when he really hits hard times. I am certain he will attempt to whore out "making da comics" and "Captains Logs" when he gets a just a wee bit closer to poverty than he already is.

Comics and videos go in the opposite direction from easy money.

Kicktraq obviously doesn't have ween detection software...
I don't think there are enough weens around to risk it.

But if there were, it'd kind of amount to ween chicken in the end. Every ween wants to push the dollar amount as close as they can to $5k, but they don't want it to go over, lest they actually get on the hook for however much they pledged.

Hence why we don't have multiple $5000 pledges like what happened with eBay.

God, having just watched the latest South Park episode (the Washington Redskins one)...it was so applicable to Chris in terms of how Kickstarter makes money "while people sit on their ass", it's a whole new meta level on top of how meta South Park normally is.

Assuming Chris gets the 5 grand (which I doubt he will);
1) what happens if he only uses $1,000 on Lego?
2) what happens if he spends NONE on Lego? (doubtful)
3) what happens if for some godforsaken reason he can't finish it because he doesn't have enough Lego?
4) if he doesn't finish it, either because of lack of resources or lack of "motivation", is there any penalty from Kickstarter for not doing what you say you're going to do or not actually finishing a project you've gotten money for?

Kickstarter actually did update their ToS recently to answer these questions, most particularly clarified what happens when projects don't end up being finished after being funded.
https://www.kickstarter.com/terms-of-use#section4

If a creator is unable to complete their project and fulfill rewards, they’ve failed to live up to the basic obligations of this agreement. To right this, they must make every reasonable effort to find another way of bringing the project to the best possible conclusion for backers.

The creator is solely responsible for fulfilling the promises made in their project. If they’re unable to satisfy the terms of this agreement, they may be subject to legal action by backers.

tl;dr - Kickstarter doesn't offer the penalties, nor offer refunds for failed projects. Project creators, however, are still liable to finish the project to its best possible conclusion by any means, otherwise backers can sue the creators.

So theoretically speaking, the weens chipped in little money so they can sue Chris to get his money if he doesn't reach his goal by his due date?

That's what they probably think. Given Chris' incredible dedication to Legos, he might make good on his project's completion by any means. I would assume anyone, especially Chris, will do whatever's necessary to prevent litigation from taking place.

And then there's always the high chance that Kickstarter terminates the project and nothing takes place.

But he specifically asked for "Multiple Hearlake Malls and Schools, Olivia's Houses, Summer Riding Camps, Grey Baseplates, and even more that I can not estimate right now, because I would be just getting started on this project!" What is he going to do for those sets? Steal them? Also, he has $233 in his "project" so far with 18 backers. This has to be a ween operation in progress.

Let's say by some freak accident he gets the 5k. This statement by Chris pretty much states he doesn't even know what the fuck he's doing other than he wants to play with Legos. He doesn't have any set plan, and is planning on just winging it. This of course isn't any surprise, but considering this is his "dream project," you'd think he would have put in some forethought. Nope, can't even be bothered with that, just wants to build an even bigger dollhouse.
Chris should use the extra money (assuming that he does get $5000) to ship the medallions. I mean, we know that he won't put it towards Barb's dental work, or anything else that he actually needs, so he might as well get out those masterpieces he's sold.

I was just about to confess I was disappointed because I kind of didn't want him to reach his goal - it's ridiculous I feel I'm a bit of an asshole for thinking this when it's Chris we're talking about - but thought he would because of the amount he's reached already, but this post made me feel better. There's still hope for us haters.

I'll be waiting patiently for the "PLEASE SUPPORT MY KICKSTARTER" posts and the angry rant when he doesn't get to the goal.

I don't know where you got that idea from. A kickstart project is under no obligations to do anything if it isn't funded in the first place.
