Why the hell would you assume that somebody would actually give you money so you can by a bunch of legos and make a shopping mall replica? don't people create kickstarters so they can start there own business or buy something that they really need? This boggles my mind

It's already been said a dozen times in this thread alone, but the only way he's going to profit off of Kickstarter or Pateron is if he promises more Sonichu content. I'm honestly surprised he hasn't picked up on this yet. It was his original goal to make money off of Sonichu. It's his most famous creation. Get on the ball, Chris.

I don't know exactly how kickstarter works, but if he doesn't get 5 grand by his due date, does the money get reimbursed to those that put money in?

You don't put money in at all. You only get charged IF the kick starter succeeded. This means people will often make $1 donations (the bare minimum) in order to be able to shitpost to the comments sections of Kickstarters.

KS doesn't charge your account until the time limit is reached and it has met its goal.

Chris could probably save a bunch of money by just buying legos in bulk and not trying to mash together multiple sets. But what do I know?

Chris could save a lot of money buying the lego sets at toys r us, instead of buying them at an excessive markup in sketchy ways online.

Or even he could go to the Goodwill and buy some older Legos (if there is any at that time). Sure there might not be the exact pieces you want, but there is more variety and less money spent so you can buy EVEN more Legos. And its not like Chris is concerned about whether they're clean or not (I hesitate to buy certain items used for this reason).

But I remember as a kid how awesome it was to get a brand new toy. He's still a big kid, and who doesn't love opening new things? I still get rather hype when I get new stuff.

If there were Legos at Goodwill there's a 99% chance he already bought them all

So he wants to bring the plans that apparently got him an F in his CADD classes (and the teacher a place of honor among the villains in the comics) into reality? Drawing them in the comics was far cheaper than what he plans on doing here.

I also see he still likes the idea of placing the "ridiculously huge" (as the CWCki calls it) office in the mall. Apparently, it's almost 40 meters (120') in length in the plans. It's sad if to him, the height of culture is corporate franchises and shopping. Instead of the mayor's office being in some garish "battery charged blue" and yellow Rococo style palace with murals of electric hedgehogs in epic fantasy scenes painted on the ceilings, it's in a shopping mall of all places.

Is it mere coincidence that he was selling his junker for $5000 a few days ago, and now he wants $5000 through Kickstarter?

So he's gone from "Give me thousands of dollars for worthless junk" to "Give me thousands of dollars because AUTISM".

I reported the project but only because it is against the rules. Kickstarter is a really good idea. I have funded lots of cool games and performances. Shit like this is always reported by me because I want to keep the platform legit.

There nothing wrong with calling this out. Fatty plans to have you buy your own rewards or give you the bits he doesn't need after he's done building (not quiet sure really) so the autism levels are off the charts.

Then again subtlety was never his strongpoint...
