Haven’t seen this posted yet:
Rumor has it, Cash and his family toured around the world and the lead singer met and chatted up his daughter at a bar. He asked the daughter if Cash had heard his cover and she responded “yeah, he’s weird. He loved it!”

One of my favorite softer-metal bands is Avantasia. I really like their music, and I own several of their albums. A couple months ago I found out, from a tiktok trend, that one of my favorite songs of theirs is actually just a Mama Mia/Abba cover

Oh, nice, they didn't skip the second verse unlike the Information Society cover of "Lay All Your Love On Me".

While on the subject of ABBA covers, Men Without Hats covered "S.O.S." on their 1989 album The Adventures of Women & Men Without Hate in the 21st Century.

My favourite ABBA song is "Super Trouper" which Max Raabe und Palast Orchester recorded a loungey vaguely 1930's-sounding cover version of.

A techno cover version of U2's "Pride (In the Name of Love)" exists and it was created by some guys that were in C+C Music Factory. I doubt anyone remembers them, but they were a 90s one hit wonder band the song that says: "Everybody dance now!"

Coalesce, a metalcore band, did an album of Led Zeppelin covers and the results are hilarious thanks to the guttural vocals. The drummer of the band went on to play in The Get Up Kids and Reggie & The Full Effect.

Nevermore covered Simon & Garfunkel's "The Sound of Silence". The track is notable for how quickly the pretense of being a gentle and faithful cover is discarded once it reveals the menace that has taken its place. Despite the shift in tone, the lyrics don't sound out of place at all.

Man, I can't believe I forgot about this guy last time I posted in this thread. Jesse Stewart is a gutter punk from Canada's east coast who train-hopped to Ontario and was slumming around Southern Ontario (last I heard). He got a lot of social media attention for this song he covered called "Cold Beer", originating from a sketch comedian/skater's YT channel (motionshow).
Jesse Stewart is a Canadian musician, with his musical roots originating from growing up busking while travelling the territories of Canada and North America. Famed for his raw and passionate performances, Jesse often utilizes limited stringed instruments (most often a mandolin) when performing covers of classic folk/rock music and original songs. Jesse’s music has been repeatedly listed under such classic genres as country/folk, blues, rap, alternative and rock amongst more unorthodox labels such as ‘folk-punk’.

Never in one place for too long, Jesse performs all across North America as a travelling musician. Throughout these travels he has played in bars, concert halls, and many other small-town locations
As a consequence of this however, much of his released music is either sourced from his YouTube channel or other unorthodox means. However, much of his music can be found on multiple digital platforms like iTunes and Spotify.

Those wishing to watch him perform should check out his Facebook page as events are regularly posted there.
He was able to parlay that Social Media hype into a win for the Trailer Park Boys "I should be Fuckin' Famous" contest. For a while it seemed he was on his way up, as he had appeared to have made connections. However, for whatever reason (read; booze & dope, probably) he just kind of dropped off the face of the earth for a while. Before I quit FB a few years ago, I did see him start posting again, so he was alive at that time*.

Here is his Trailer Park Boys appearance (Marauder):

Jesse Stewart's "Cold Beer" (Cover of "Cry Tunes" by Donnie Dumphy):
Original Version:
[Verse 1: Donnie Dumphy]
Kinda get broken when it comes to emotion
Makes me start chokin' so I sit by the ocean
Spent my last buck on a bottle of whiskey
Drunk and broke sittin' here in history
I made my mind up, how I'm going
Got nowhere to go
Don't know where I'm going
I do know one thing, one thing that is true
No matter where I go, I'm gonna need you
We just can't let each other go now
We're too close to ever slow down
The only one that keeps my chin up
When you touch my lips we're like two dogs stuck

[Chorus: Ronnie Driscoll]
Cold, cold beer
Don't you ever worry, I am right here
I could never live without you
You don't care what I amount to

[Verse 2: Donnie Dumphy]
I pick you up, take you home
Sit on the couch, turn off the phone
Love your taste, love your smell
Who'd have thought that we could do so well?
Hell, I guess we're meant for each other
Sort'a like the microphone and my buddy Bruce Buffer
Can't really express my joy
Its like a scrap between Osgood and Patty Roy
Can't take my eyes off you
Went to rehab, thought I lost you
Now we're back together with a vengeance
It must be my little Irish descendance
Feels pretty good to get this off my chest
Even though people sayin': "Donnie's obsessed!"
Maybe I am, maybe they're right
All I know is one thing, it was love at first sight

[Chorus: Ronnie Driscoll]
Cold, cold beer
Don't you ever worry, I am right here
I could never live without you
You don't care what I amount to

[Verse 3: Donnie Dumphy]
Sittin' on the stoop feelin' kinda lonely
Me and Brenda fightin' so I call the homies
B'ys busy hangin' out in front of Sobey's
There's only one little feller who really knows me
Comes in a little brown bottle or can
Sits in your hand 'til you can barely stand
Part of the fam, part of the team
Took me under his wing when I was just a teen
Every time he come around it always takes me back
To when I had a fake ID, and a little dirt 'stache
Get a road soak, cold pop, two-four, wobbly pop, twist top, pop top, tall boy, cold shot

[Chorus: Ronnie Driscoll]
Beer, cold beer
Don't you ever worry, I am right here
I could never fuckin' live without you
You don't care what I amount to

Beer, cold beer
Don't you ever worry, I am right here
I could never live without you
You don't care what I amount to
