Unicorn Warriors Eternal - Another new show from Genndy Tartovkosky on adult swim [HBO Max the following day]

I love this show I'm obsessed and don't know why. I'm gonna share the art I made hope you all like it:

The conclusion of UWE was last Thursday and truth be told I gave up watching the premieres at episode 5 because I got tired of the slow pacing and MelindaEmma being at war with herself instead of the Evil that's fucking shit up. Now that it's a holiday weekend, I watched the rest of it.

Overall, this wasn't nearly as incredible as I was hoping it would be, not nearly as much steampunk as I wanted and Genndy officially has no fucking idea how to wrap a long story up. The man needs script doctors.

I watched the series through, and it was almost all setup and no payoff. They have four main characters, and three more main characters in the bodies they've taken over. The host / reincarnation can't interact directly in every scene, so the time we spend getting to know the reincarnations feels wasted, because often they're in a crisis and the dialogue is just boilerplate action stuff, and when they're in a quiet moment it feels wasted because its the characters having a schizophrenic discussion, whining, or wondering what has happened and what will become of them. Which is too many layers to deal with for little payoff. The weekly episodes didn't help this.

I was disappointed by the end. Felt like nothing really happened. Even if there is a season 2 then what? I wanted Emmalinda to choose between her love interests, etc. so much for a cool new show I guess.

I've watched some episodes of this but its telling when the only character I really like is the steampunk robot guy that just makes train whistle noises. Primal was better.

I still loved it. I'd say Primal is still better, but I won't lie, I still had fun with it and I can't wait for a second season. Gendy has still proven that he hasn't lost his steam as of yet.

It was a nice experiment, but the first 3 mins of the first episode is the best the series has to offer. The story is all over the place and feels like an amateurish Newgrounds animation.

The art style/animation does not work. It feels like multiple art styles are colliding and fighting against each other and it looks really ugly.

I echo the sentiments of pretty much everyone. Design wise it is definitely brave, feels like Popeye, works in some ways and not in others. The story was a mess, though. I wish Genndy would stick to episodic storytelling, fuck serialized. Just do ten episodes of the heroes in different eras fighting a different manifestation of the evil.
