It'd genuinely be better if Kris was an autistic neckbeard teenager with his anime catgirl doll (no troon ghost here), attempting to stop the roaring without Barney the Cockblocker or Moloch. Because at least that wouldn't fall completely flat in seriousness, having a huge joke as the premise.

Currently, the writing of this game feels like stitched together Tumblr writing prompts with bad consequences. For example...
"The player and player character are separate, and he ✨they✨ understandably resents the player!" Cool idea. How is this going to affect the story?
"Well, the player character moves off-screen for some unknown plan and subverts any choices that might give answers to your questions!" Despite the SOUL being a being that should be able to move regardless, as shown in the Holiday House sequence? No. That's terrible.

Probably why I've been attached to it for so long. Now I'm tired of these hack writers who come up with unique ideas and ruin it due to their political leanings that totally aren't ones, and/or a desire to subvert every writing concept in the stories that they've previously read.

It seems like the secret bosses and maybe the eggs will have some bearing on the ending, but what about starwalker or friend encounters (namely the one in chapter 5 where you have to specifically encounter him). Does anyone think that will be relevant? I haven't got all the friend or starwalker shit so I don't want to have to get them if it's not relevant

Stalwalker seems to be unironically closely tied to friend/eggman bs

he appears naturally near ch1 and ch5 egg rooms, and according to him he is an original starwalker while the fallen starwalker with wings is not original. this connects him to ch4 egg room with roots prophecy, where there is a book about fallen star making rivers with it tears. thus it might be important to catch him as he is relevant, but probably not too important

my hypothesis is that fallen starwalker represents gaster, while original starwalker is forgotten man and he is the creator of the old timeline. susie is gaster's porky and evil and shit.
 
Goddamn it, with just a few new lines I have revived hopium that chapter six could be packed with plot movement and interesting things, and get the story back on track after all.

I'm actually curious to see where the whole thing with Pink/Mew Mew goes. Considering she's the first Shadow Crystal holder we get to recruit into Castle Town. Yet suspiciously, the chapter ended before we could actually meet her there, leading me to believe she might have more significance than previously thought. Now that she might have some sort of connection to Friend, I'm curious to see what she actually does in Castle Town. Most likely, she'll join up with Seam, but only time will tell.

Remember, if people are allowed to call Mew Mew a transvestite with little to no basis. Than you're allowed to say that she is a real, genuine, biologically female ghost. It's true!
 
I mean iirc the Ghosts don't even have sexes. They're just kind of... blobs.

Outside of Toby calling Napstablook a he and getting raked over the coals for it.

Damn, does this mean that FRIENDs have been a pack of Gaster's dimensional janny hitmen who'll literally kill and eat whoever's been messing with the game? And the only way to evade them is to semi-erase yourself from existence and hide in the cracks of reality? Is this why finding the Forgotten Man is considered an "ISSUE" by Gaster? Because we're engaging with the parts of the world we're not supposed to? What's inside the eggs that's so important? Was the Normal NPC butchering and feeding us Onion a warning? About what might happen to US if we delve too deep?

Alright, after the mild disappointment that has been the normal route of Chapter 5, I think that my interest in the game has genuinely been perked up again.

What is this feeling?

Am I... trusting the dog?

This guy's review of chapter 5 is gonna great.
Mainly because it doubles down everything he didn't like about the direction of the story, character development and especially the chapter antagonists ever since chapter 2.

I feel like, aside from Friend hunting the Forgotten Man, this scene mainly reinforces other things we learned. ERAM/the ShadowMantle boss has a pack of Friends he attacks you with, Tenma references how Mike warned Spamton not to break his deal with the caller, and Friends bite in Chapter 5 does damage equal to the sell value of the first item in you inventory.
Although the going into hiding thing is interesting as it has vague parallels of what happened to Dess, Spamton, and the Forgotten man. Although in Spamton's case I think we more or less can conclude he was being hunted for breaking his contract.

I don't like Deltarune's gay humor or pronoun bullshit and I can still say this guy's criticism is straight ass. I wouldn't recommend anyone to side with him just because he's the only mainstream "chud" contrarian and calls Kris he or him. He nitpicks every single detail and bloats his videos just to make it look like a well researched critique.
I can barely listen his suicidal teenager voice but for a random example, at 12:43 of the second video, "...The Characters in Chapter 3 aren't extensively shown to have any history to prove their existence before the player enters it..." only works if you closed your eyes whenever Tenna talked about how Toriel used to watch cooking shows or when Kris and Dess used to listen to live concerts or Kris' bath bombs or the entirety of Mancountry, etc.
It's more like sealioning than actual critique.

Yeah, his critique is absolutely dogshit realistically. It's extremely surface level takes, which would be fine for somebody who wasn't doing hour long deep dive videos on the fucking subject multiple times.
It's still better objectively than the mindless praise Deltatroons give the game.

The problem is that these 10 new lines of dialog advanced the plot of deltarune more than all of chapter 5 combined. That's why your interest is back.

I think that's fair to say now. Spamton was being hunted by the friends. That is probably why all his items have cat resistance on them, he was trying to protect himself. After he stole Swatch's look, he probably colored himself like a friend to blend in. That would also explain his role in the weird route, hes trying to break out of the confines of the game to escape the hunt.

But the real question is wha the hell happened to Dess. Does the pointed tail even refer to friend? Why did she follow it? Why would one try to be luring her away?
 
FRIEND is probably going to turn out to be all of Noelle's Cat Petterz 2 cats that she deleted after the PIPIS took over her save file or some shit.
IIRC Alphys gave the figurine to Asgore, right? And Mewmewqueen (Alphys) was a Catpetterz modder, so the figurine probably saw that shit.

As you may know, Cat Petterz 2 is one of this admin's favorite games. To those that don't know, it's a game where you take care of a cat and raise it. Sounds simple, right? XD


Actually, the game has a REALLY deep animation and breeding system... So players have been able to hex edit the game data to create brand-new pets.


If you download the right mods, you can raise birds, hamsters, cars, cartoon characters, and even more. Mewmewqueen's Sympton family pack is a great example of how far things can go.


However, you have to be careful, because, not all mods are very compatible. When pets fall in love, an egg appears and it hatches into a new pet that combines the animation and visual data of the two parents. Meaning, if you try to breed a hamster and a car, you'll either get a complete freak of nature XD Or, worse, you'll get this message.


"Incompatible pet"


Then the game will freeze and the music will glitch out.


I was so scared of seeing this message as a kid, I would punish my pets so that they would NEVER fall in love. If an egg did appear, I would throw in the trash right away.

If you have no pets, it's known that there's a rare chance for an egg to appear giving you a random pet. This is the only way to get some of the secret cats in the game, which are still super rare on top of THAT.


So it's a lot of waiting for eggs, hatching them, and throwing away tons of cats trying to get the perfect character (This caused other problems but I'll explain that another time XP)


But, one day when I was trying to get the ultimate cat, something weird happened.


A white egg showed up on my screen, but there was a message with it. "SPECIAL"


I was really excited. I've never gotten a special egg before. In fact I'd never even heard of it at all. I sat there for an hour waiting to see what it would turn out to be. Maybe I would be the first one to discover a brand-new cat?


But what was weird is, the egg never hatched. I started to worry that it was some kind of glitch, so I decided to try and get rid of it before it hurt my computer... and that's where things got REALLY strange.


No matter what I did, I couldn't move or throw away the egg.


I tried clicking it over and over, and in the end, all that happened is it made some sort of weird sound.


This freaked me out so much I deleted the game and reinstalled it. ... but the egg was still there. (Obviously XP)


Now that I'm older I think what happened is, I had so many mods installed that the egg didn't know what to hatch into? But at the time I thought my computer was haunted or something, or the egg was going to kill me XD


After a few hours of freaking out, I eventually faced my fears and loaded up the game again. The egg was there, but it didn't seem to be doing anything. So I started raising it like it was a normal pet, brushing it and playing with it and stuff.


By the end of the day, I actually started thinking it was a cool pet and maybe I could try to figure out how to upload it online as a mod.


I wasn't able to do that though.


The next day when I opened the game, the egg was gone, with a message that said it "left home due to happiness."


Usually the message is "(pet) left home due to sadness" and only happens because you neglected your pet. It's not supposed to happen because you were nice XD


One last thing!


The egg actually had a name but I don't remember what it was. It's been driving me crazy ever since. If anyone else has ever seen an egg in their game like this PLEASE sign my guestbook. PLEASE. First one gets 100 cheasy points from me XP

I barely ever receive fan mail (no pressure guys XD), but just in case I ever get an email from anyone out there, I have this habit of always reading my spam mail, just in case it's someone real.

Mostly it's just weird stuff like "hochi mamas can get big too" (promise I wasn't looking at any weird sites guys... mmkay? XD)

But one day, one of the spams I got was nothing but random letters and numbers.

I figured it was probably a failed attempt at sending me a virus, but I thought... what if I tried putting it into Cat Petterz 2 as a mod?

So I did. And weirdly enough, it actually managed to load.



For people that don't know the game, it has a special visual style. All the pets are made of circles that get animated around. One circle will be the head, another the eyes, another the pupil, another the body etc.

But I guess the game didn't like the data very much because this pet was only one blue circle. Yeah, just ONE blue circle floating in the air.

The animations didn't work and it never moved, except for occasionally glitching out.

All of the stats were really bad and all of my pets really hated it except for... certain ones .... lol… I couldn't explain why anyone liked it, but it was really funny to see who did XD

What's weird is that the circle seemed to be able to multiply. Normally you need 2 pets to fall in love to make a new pet, but after a while, even if the circle was by itself, a "Congrulations!" message would come up, and then there would be 2 circles.

I thought this was funny, but the circles started piling up. I tried to throw them in the trash, but they were multiplying too fast.

My screen was nothing but "Congraulations" messages when the game crashed.

Needless to say I had to wipe all my pets ><

Lesson learned about using files from weird emails ......... (Until next time... dun dun DAAA XD)

Also cats and eggs are heavily connected through CatPetterz 2, and Noelle is also very obviously the Angel.
