How so we know this? Did I miss something in the game?
There are a lot of hints to it in the game but this is a pretty good indicator it happened. It's heavily implied that Kris and Catti summoned a demon (at least it is confirmed that they tried to when they were kids, and likely tried again before the events of the story).

I personally enjoy the idea that Susie is indeed Roulx Kaard-ing the destined romance between Noelle and Kris because it's entered a rough patch and she thinks she can make a move.

This seems to be the direction things are heading now that the dust from chapter 5 has settled and people have gotten their theories together.

Normally I'm not one for enjoying wikibait like UT/DR, and I've only done one TruPac run of UT (it being my only playthrough), but man do these two tickle a certain once-in-a-while urge to pore over hours of wiki entries just to see what the fuck is up. Saw throughout the thread history that UTY/DRY are actually pretty good and I ought to see sometime.

Gerson mentions that he likes 'going the wrong way', as he can get 'better' ideas that way. This is possible, but there might be something we can learn in the Weird Route that can help unlock a different ending.
The best ending will probably be unlocked by aborting Snowgrave and getting the twisted sword, while side B will be the "taking it too far" scenario.
I was actually thinking about this earlier. Some of what Gerson says sounds like foreshadowing for the Weird Route if we take it that way. Not only is there his line about he likes going the wrong way because it helps him get ideas, but also he suggests you try "going between the lines". Additionally, when he talks about going the wrong way, he says this.

Hint that you need to turn back from the lake to get something different? Guess we'll see.
All right, regarding the "Schizophrenic Evil Susie" theory. So chapter 6 finally rolls around and you walk into Castle Town. The first bit of dialogue you get is this. How do you react?

You VILL address her as Queen Susie from now on. I wouldn't be surprised if everyone in Castle Town goes full YAAAS QUEEN mode.
I saw someone on /v/ speculate on the idea of Susie taking over Castle Town and hoarding Noelle in there like a dragon with a captured princess at her lair full of monsters. I doubt it will go that direction, but if it did and played into how the amount of enemies in Castle Town would change based on how pacifist vs. violent you've been being then it could be pretty interesting. If it actually goes on into Susie needing to let go of Castle Town, then the whole idea of "if you beat enemies with violence you won't be able to recruit them but you'll grow stronger" takes on a different meaning.
Susie is going to ruin everything when the aborted weird route for Ch6 has Susie tell Noelle that "actually, all of it was REAL :)" and Noelle just loses all interest in her to focus on Kris.
For fucks sake, the girl can literally kill Berdly in a SUPER realistic dream, wake up to comatose Berdly, and her response is just "God, that POWER felt so AMAZING."
She's unhinged!
>aborted weird route Noelle finds out it's all real
>immediately starts powertripping and freezing Castle Town and breaking Susie's toys

Could be kino.
Symbol of the Chud is onto something with this theory. We know Catti is connected to summoning Gaster. While I don't think Gaster is the badguy of Deltarune, he might even be our greatest ally in undoing the corruption, this connection cannot be understated and Catti's understanding of the situation is apt. There is something terribly wrong with Susie in particular to warrant this beyond prior bullying.
If we're going to go down this line of speculation, what if Susie moved to Hometown right after Kris and Catti did their demon summoning? Seems like a reason Catti could be so suspicious of her.

Man these fucking goner niggers just sitting around give me the creeps.

GONERS.png

"GONERS could be here" he thought, "I've never been in this Hometown before. There could be GONERS anywhere." The mysterious wind felt good against his bare chest. "I HATE GONERS" he thought. Don't Forget reverberated his entire vessel, making it pulsate even as the 2g takoyaki sauce circulated through his powerful thick veins and washed away his (merited) fear of anomalies after dark. "With a VESSEL, you can go anywhere you want" he said to himself, out loud.

... are the fights in this chapter worth putting up with all this bullshit for? The dialogue sucks, the soundtrack sucks. If the fights aren't even worth it I see no point in completing this chapter.
Eh, if the fights feel like too much of a hassle you can always cheat the defense to something insane and take basically no damage.
You might find something worth it, only you know what you like.

If you abort Weird at the lake, Noelle will still know that everything was real. So, nothing would come as a surprise when Susie tells her about the dark world being real and everything. Who knows if that would change anything.

just beat mewmew
I appreciated the callbacks to the original Mad Mew Mew fight, but I fucking hate bomberman. I suck ass at bomberman.

and now I need to grind flowery dollars to buy some undertale equipment (I'm buying the knife no matter what, aqua #1)

Chapter 4 establishes that the creation of a Dark World invokes some emotion from the creator to influence what it looks like and how it all fits together. Kris has been going to church for a while, whereas Susie is new to it. Kris' Sanctuary is more uniform and meticulous in its details, whereas Susie's is messy, inaccurate and seems to based on challenging traditions rather than abiding by them (as indicated by the petrified flute people and the wafer scholars questioning their origin).

So then why the fuck is the Flower King dark world the exact same when the Knight makes a second fountain as Kris seals the first one?

Saw this theory and really liked it. Basically, the words in Asgore's notes are mixed up due to Friend's involvement, like the egg room NPC doing the lost girl words.

My running theory is that the Knight has Kris' original soul. (Which is why they have similar poses in battle)
You can also say that maybe Susie's Dark Worlds are all fucked up and wrong because her even being around at all is fucked up and wrong.
