I don't think anyone mentioned this, but I'll do:

So we know that Susie draws on a punch card after Sans asks us to. Coincidentally, in Undertale, we can go through some stuff at Sans's house to see a card with 3 people drawn on it with the text "Don't forget".

Well, that means this and that are the same thing from different worlds, case closed right? But hold it... If we tell Ralsei that we'll buy him ice cream in chapter 3, Susie will draw 4 people: Kris, Susie, Noelle and Ralsei", as we're getting ice cream for Ralsei as well. But if we are not going to promise to buy him ice cream, Suise will draw only 3 people as she dosen't remember about Ralsei. But... Still, this makes no sense. Why would simple ice cream have such an impact?

... That's because it's not about Ice cream at all

In the weird route, when we go to the ice cream stand, Sans will give the punch card again. But Susie will draw only 3 people: Kris, Susie and Ralsei. That's because she's not as close to Noelle as in the normal route. That means, what happens in Undertale is actually after the Weird Route, promoting Sans and Papyrus to move out to Undertale. And whatever happened made Sans write "Don't forget" on the Punch Card that's tied to the fun gang

So THAT'S what Toby Fox meant as his "Dream of Chapter 5 10 years ago": It's tying it all together with Undertale in a big way

How long has this guy been making this game?
Game-maker slop type mechanics, a significant part of each chapter is always recyclable (some if not all elements of castle town, the actual town), what is taking so long on "making" the game?
You're telling me when the fucking final chapter comes out, it will have been ten years?
And for what?
Half of these fucking guys you interact in most of the chapters you'll never see again, the other half is split into stuff that does not actually matter and vague-post stuff which will either only be explained at the end or won't at all.

Chapter 5 basically tells you nothing after the reveals in Carol's home and is made for sodomites to stroke their cock to.
Trvly kino writing, I kneel to the limp wristed coding god Toby Fox.
Eight years. Four and a half years were spent on chapters 3 & 4, but a lot happened in that time in Toby's life between working for other people and hanging out with the big shots in Japan. I think a big reason why it's taking too long, aside from Toby doing other things, is because of all the extra things he wants in the game like the Zelda game in chapter 3, climbing in 4, Super Paper Mario in 5. I recall he said chapter 6 is relatively straightforward in terms of dev time, so there's likely no extra mechanics there.

There's also Weird Route, which is practically a second story going on at the same time as the normal one and there may be variations of it too, depending on what importance the twisted sword may end up having and might even differ depending on if you aborted WR in chapter 2 or 5. I can't discount Toby completely because while the story is telling you "Susie and Noelle are in love" in the most blatant, underdeveloped terms, it also screams in your face that it's all so fake. It is subtext that gradually gets less subtextual, progressing from Noelle and Susie's interactions with Kris feeling more natural than their interactions with each other, to Noelle and Susie visibly having less chemistry with each other than they do with Kris even if Noelle wouldn't admit it. We may not have learned the deep lore we wanted yet, but I think we're seeing the cracks in the wall rapidly getting bigger. Sucks that side B isn't for quite a while.

Or Toby could be a complete hack and all of that was actually just everyone overthinking it. Time will tell.

Oh also, not sure if someone else already said it but just in case, Flowery's argument about Ralsei closing his fountain instead completely falls apart and is a waste of time when you remember Ralsei's fountain is special because it's apparently made of pure darkness... as opposed to... other kinds of darkness, I guess. Which is why any darkner can live there without turning to stone. Any darkner that tries to enter a dark world where they don't "belong" turns to stone if you forgot. (This is all revealed in Chapter 2.)

Though at the same time Toby seems to ignore his own established rules when it suits him so who fucking knows tbh.

Alternatively, Ralsei's fountain is special because it's in a storage closet.
You know, the place that is almost always kept dark, a place that Lightners will almost never visit, that you can store all kinds of junk in and not have any of it be out of place?

Oh yeah, there's also this from the Spamton Sweepstakes where Noelle writes about being disgusted by Susie being a complete cunt to Kris and threatening him.
This is the same "uwu I'm just a silly girl" character she pretends to be in Deltarune.

Seriously, what the fuck is her problem?

Kris and Noelle don't "clip out of" anything, they just fall into the roots of the dark world.

100%. Notice the Noelle sprites as they're drowning. She's being sunk into complete darkness. The 7th is the darkest of all, and the final one is in such a way that it seems like light is coming from underneath Noelle, despite the darkness. They sank into the very source of darkness itself.

There's no chapter 6 weird route because they skipped directly to the final chapter's dark world. Kris won't be around in chapter 6 to cause antics and open fountains, the Knight can't reach him either.

He's going to use her up to change fate, he'll be used up by we the player. Will the prophecy change?

I've been mulling over one thing.
Another game with a single ending...
It probably won't come up but part of me hopes it does.
The official journo opinion is still that gamers were "overreacting".

Note the ending of that post. The part where she's overcome with horniness while Kris is about to fucking die (until he pulls out a secret weapon)

rudy is the knight. he made a deal with gaster/the devil to follow the prophecy, the tale of hell. this is why he supports susie and noelle going together, but the second they start dating he throws up and falls down.

it's also interesting that noelle "likes susie's tail", as if she would want to follow some kind of tail. the pointed tail that opposes the fate.

I mean, I guess it would be kinda neat if the weird route fuckery permanently changes the prophecy in some way across all your save slots.

If monsters just dissolve into dust upon death, how could the Gaster Bird make takoyaki out of Onion-san? I suppose if you were to collect all the dust, you could treat it as if it were flour or something, but I doubt it would taste very meaty.

This brings another question though, can monsters be amputated? If they lack a circulatory system, are there no consequences of losing a limb (other than being disabled)? And do the limbs just dissolve into dust as well? What about regenerating tissue like hair, nails and antlers then?

It's a shame Berdly will never get to meet his cute gamer gf because she's stuck in Flower King, unless somehow plant darkners are immune to getting statue'd in the Roaring since their rules are different than regular darkners
erm didn't you read the pronouns she isn't a GIRL despite looking and acting and bhaving like a girl xhey are actually non-gendered.

Was too occupied during the week but finished it this weekend.
This is the highest disparity a chapter has had so far in how good the gameplay was and how bad the writing was.
It even extends to the secret boss where its a really challenging fight and how creatively it uses Muffet's purple soul gimmick, yet the boss is just locked away behind a barely hidden away door. I didn't mind a more plain setup for Gerson because it worked for him but I really missed all the secretive schizo aspects, exploration and discovery this time. Like Spamton's keygen and the basement or the sword route in chapter 3.
Flowery was okay, I didn't mind him nowhere near as much as other seem to do but I can see myself liking him less where it not for the voice clips. Other than Blue (and really just because of the design), I didn't mind the flowers either. Yellow's attempts to kill himself were a highlight lol
I have disliked Ralsei since chapter 1 but its amazing how I can start to tolerate him whenever he lets go of the wholesome chungus shtick, more please.
Lastly, I never liked Onionsan either but holy shit :stress:

Tenna lost two arms against the Knight and still didn't turn into dust.

That's one of my reasons for why the Goners have something to do with giving monsters more physical bodies. (Kris without a soul starts to become grayed out, too)
It's possible that was Gaster's Experiment.

Tenna is a fucking TV, not a monster.
