I think I've connected some dots.

In chapter 2, Onion-san says that he's been hearing a song from underwater.

I think there's a portal to maybe Gaster down there. It may explain what happens in the weird route, where Noelle and Kris have all the glow before they supposedly "drown" and go to Chapter 7. And then since Onion-san was getting to close, he had his Goner kill him and feed him to the town.

Oh...they said the takoyakis had onions on them...
that's why he didn't fucking stop the weird route.......

My question is why they made a deal with Seth specifically out of all of the flowers and not Flowery, did he already know he'd wind up in that one specific jail and need them to open the door for him? And how the hell did he learn about Seth's berdly admiration to have prepared one of his feather's ahead of time?
Kris has actually reset the timeline so many times to uncuck himself that he has stuff like berdly's feather ready to go, but it's never enough to unrape his heart.

with Seth specifically out of all of the flowers and not Flowery
Aqua is too childish, couldn't prevent her from spilling the beans.
Yellow's Justice wouldn't let him.
Green is Green.
Blue hates tragedy and would say something.
Orange would reveal all the second he felt bullied.
Flowery also specifically tells Susie about the code and not to say a fucking thing because he's knows Kris has changed.
Seth's the only one that makes sense.

Yep, in chapter 1 and 2, the Goner is in the library, then early in chapter 4, it is now standing in Onion-san's spot talking about the library. At the end of chapter 4, you can wait for onion-san but susie tells you to that he's probably not coming. Then you get to chapter 5, that Goner is running the octupus stand, he says originally that the food costs 2G, then says it costs free. Gold was Undertale's currency, while DR uses dollars. Then Susie says they taste like onions.

Funny that people are only now schizoing out about the idea of Susie being like a mary sue or that she can subvert the player's agency, because I was thinking something like this all the way back when Chapter 2 was new. Don't you guys remember how back then during the fight against music trio, Ralsei makes a big deal about how ACTing is Kris's thing, but Susie insists she and Ralsei can just do it too? And then not too long after that, when the group comes to that fork in the road and Ralsei asks you pick how you want to split up and what direction you want to go, Susie nullifies the choice by grabbing Ralsei and running off without caring about what you pick. And then what happens while she's off with Ralsei? She gets him to teach her healing magic, so now she can basically do what Kris and Ralsei can do, even if not as well. And in this same chapter, not only do Noelle, Kris, and Ralsei all like her, but Berdley falls for her too. Really, by the end of Chapter 2 she's pretty much a harem protagonist, and the only somewhat major character with a problem with Susie that would give the feeling of her being a social outcast is Catti.

I also want to point out that the player's perspective is always meant to be centered on the Soul, regardless of whether it's in Kris or not, so it's kind of suspicious that you can sometimes follow what Susie is doing without Kris around. She's the only character this happens to; if you have Kris think of anyone else when the option arises, we just read Kris's thoughts about that person (exeption is thinking of Noelle in Chapter 4, but that's after you've apparently put a bit of yourself inside her), but whenever Ralsei encourages Kris to think about Susie, the player will actually change perspective to following her and even reading her thoughts. The player is even given options to tell her what to do or say, and it's implied she hears them as if it's Kris's voice, but unlike Noelle she brushes it off as mishearing or stray thoughts and ignores them, doing whatever she would do anyway. I remember people theorizing about this back during the Chapter 1 and 2 days, but it seems like everyone kind of distracted from it due to all the Knight, Dess, and Noelle stuff, and maybe just getting used to it because there's Susie scenes like this in every chapter.

Actually, there's something kind of suspicious related to this in Chapter 5 itself, during the festival. If you have Susie and Noelle get on the ferris wheel together, you're given the option to have Kris think of what their doing or think of the past. If you choose to have him think of what they could be doing, it tells you he didn't think about it hard and instead switches to pondering the what Sans is doing running the ferris wheel. At first glance, you could just read this as Kris not wanting to think about it since he's jealous and it's feel bad, but we've seen this exact mental strategy done before where you try to have Kris think of the Knight in Chapter 4 he forcibly veers his thoughts into a non-sequitur so you won't learn anything. Perhaps he's intentionally avoiding thinking of Susie because if he does, you'll actually change to her perspective.

And actually, during the whole lake scene after this, Kris is apparently passed out while he goes off-screen and we instead follow what Susie and Noelle are doing. As soon as Susie is off-screen though, the camera shifts to immediately put Kris back into frame and he starts waking up enough for Noelle to notice him.

That's so fucked up lmao

I think Toby going for new gimmicks every chapter rather than refining the core gameplay makes the whole thing feel like a rollercoaster ride rather than an actual game. You gotta have a cast of new wacky characters. You gotta have a new gameplay gimmick which will get discarded next chapter. But God forbid you add any actual depth to fighting, spellcasting or rotate party members.

At this point, game doesn't really have much in terms of replayability aside from going for hidden bosses / secrets / snowgrave route. Meanwhile majority of the game becomes an extended filler cutscene. Somehow worse than Undertale in that regard

Some fucking 4chan nigger is reading this thread and taking all my posts and compiled them lmao.
I said pretty much all that shit.
Especially the plushie shit.
My schizophrenia is being robbed!
Ah well, so long as it gets the message out.
It was me, actually.
Sorry brother, mentioning the 'farms on 4cuck makes the jannies seethe too much.
I think, with some proper clean-up and refining, the genuine schizophrenic evil Susie theory could make some wave.
Regardless of whether or not it ends up being correct, it would make things very, very funny

Finally got time to finish ch5, so gotta write a wall of drivel… Ill try to condense it as much as i can. As fair warning, Im not going to bother put spoilers tags, if ure browsing this thread either you already played up this chapter or you dont give a shit about being spoil’d.

If i could summarize DR ch5 id say is peak toby dumbfuckery: wacky, weebish and gay af.
This chapter is supposed to be a “look back to the setting sun before it gets dark” but figured actually this obscene amount of levity was mostly to give himself permission on unzipping his pants and stroke his creative boner for yurislop and LOL-so-random shenanigans in order to commit into serious business later? Perhaps setting up this relentless indulgement of Susie is intended for a more dramatic delivery of a subversion?

My money’s on Susie ends up as a parallel to the shadow crystal holders, right now she isnt just “high”, but drowning on copium phase. I get why u guys seethe tho on how this chapter was handled besides the yurislop, Asgore just going for the cliched “im dropping everything cuz u made frens and now i trust u” after they essentially just spent the entire time playing pretend with a bunch of flowers cuz his child is downright conspiring against making progress on his DW case.

In regards of the flower im pretty much onboard with the same sentiment expressed here. Wanted to bring up theres a chill session where Aqua asks Seth whether is a boy or a girl, Seth fails to deflect the question and seems to legitimately not know how to answer. No sooner Blue shows up yapping about gender grooming platitudes whilst the rest of flower gang up to make an “attack helicopter” kind of joke. And the only interesting aspect going on with Pink is the parallelism between her and Kris, overall is just a worse mettaton fight.

Flowery had so much ironic Sonic OC energy, Id have liked him if he doubled down on roasting Ralsei but he’s just a foil. His sole contributions to the plot was warning some possibly underworld titan thing and disclosing the code whereabouts.

So, which plot points were clarified so far? Jack shit
  • We only learned definitely that there were prior dark worlds and possibly the whole prophecy is actually hometown thrown into a twilight zone loop or whatever. Barely a twist
  • Either Sans Undertale is actually him or just is a glorified easter egg.
  • Susie finally aware Ralsei cast fire. Also confirmed that he nerfs himself, which was already established too.
  • Castle town fountain has to be sealed eventually, vanishing everyone. Well, no shit
  • Asgore’s involvement exposure was kinda toby having an internal tug of war between wanting to vaguepost whilst dropping some key plot points. But you cant have your cake and eat it too
It is really tony taking full ownership of the script? Because this shit felt like going thru a satirical critique of his own writing style, holy fuck.

Back to the angst barney. I believe Susie shift of tone and going down bad for Noelle is a sympton of her subjugating to her role in the prophecy. And now with Ralsei being her main benefactor (funnily enough, previous chapters ralsei basically warned her to not grow attached to the dark world), then everyone and his uncle in both LW and DW pamper and ship her hard with Noelle.

Susie claims during an early puzzle that involved the generic NPC flower battle that love is when someone downright tells you that they like you -i cant recall exactly what she said-. Unlike with Kris which mostly led more towards platonic bonding and very short and awkward romantic ones (like when kris pulls her before the link knockoff we control harm her), Noelle scenes had the perk of having strong uninterrupted romantic connotations (dark world ferris wheel and lastly the lake sunset view) which led to Noelle confess to her, which naturally made an impressionable and affection starved teenager like Susie to go down bad. However, so far theyve not got past the honeymoon phase yet.

In the ending, Susie gave kris kind of a breakup talk given how much she beats around the bushes. Then she finally pulls out the “Uohh this cant be our thingie anymore, we need help, we need to involve my new gf Noelle!”. K then, why dont involve berdly by that logic? since he can fight too. But as things went on this chapter for berdly, might as well be comatose on an aborted route.

No sooner she descends down the closet to Castle Town, every single goddamn darkner + ralsei is awaiting for her at the entrance like excited lapdogs.. The scene conveys triumphal but delusional vibes as She builds a new room and prepare a welcome party to Noelle, whilst cutting back to Kris, he just walks alone in the dark without taking any part of this clownish microcosm.

Also notice how normal and weird route have totally different endings this episode, the former with a “happy” ending whilst the later left with the usual cliffhanger.

So far, for me the weird route ended in a more vindicated tone, albeit of insufficient content. I first regarded WR as just a reenacting of genocide route with psychological manipulation added to the mix, whilst the normal route was the true path considering you don’t have to miss out anything..

But now i think the normal path is actually the “bad” route: you still are the less informed member of the party, kris keep conspiring behind your back, ralsei and susie only obey commands when is convenient, your dialogue choices meant shit, deciding whether taking susie to diner or not meant shit, spending optional extra time with any main character meant shit… As the prophecy goes on as intended, all your choices worth as much as playing a regular Pokemon run while skipping dialogue.

A single choice, spamming the single option PROCEED, led you to a complete opposite direction, with Noelle showing her true colors and ralsei shitting his pants at the thought that WR is beyond his reach.

And this is the hill tony decided to die on, by adhering normal route to the jrpg format, the nuance has to be hammered into the homosexualgeneous and contrived lineal progression of the main story. Even when he puts a lot of effort gaster baiting so zoomers/millenials reverse engineer multimedia and sperg on long form videos, it shouldnt serve as a substitute to functional storytelling.

Ngl all things considered putting faith on toby writing for ch6 almost feels like im being baited into dropping a fat shadow crystal and end up playing another fountain of the week. Deltarune might turn out to be a gayer LOST after all.

Understandable, have a nice day.
I don't mind at all, and personally I think it'd be very funny if it did turn out to be right, and some schizophrenics on fucking kiwifarms were the first ones to figure out Toby Fox's big twist.
Trannies would never recover.

this is why i dont really want to replay the game again to replace my lost 100% normal route savefile. its just too much meandering dialogue and too little actual gameplay
ehh ill probably do it anyway at some point while waiting for chapter 6 and keep a focus on this new susie theory

Toby doesn't seem to understand that an enormous cast of characters constantly being thrown in the player's face makes the player not give a fuck about any of them.

I only care about my nigga Spamton.
I'm gonna be a Big Shot in your memory, buddy. (Sorry about having Noelle kill you, no hard feelings, I just needed you to die so I could stand tall and see into heaven.)
Not like it really makes much fucking difference considering that Spantong doesn't get to fuckin do shit other than that one Tenna cutscene.

Nothing wrong with that. I actually highly respect how its not overstaying its welcome and doesn't drag out games with pointless filler, just keeps them short, dense and concise. People's perception on the length is also probably shaped by the WAIT between the chapters. Playing all seven back to back would be just normal game length.

Actually, Chapter 5 breaks this rule. There’s one point where if you say you want to think of Susie, Ralsei says they should just leave her alone for now, then Ralsei leaves and you have the option to think about him instead.
