Upon a bit of reflection, I do sort of like how the message of this chapter is basically the opposite of Undertale. How the power of friendship, hopes and dreams WILL NOT solve the crisis at hand. That's what the fight with Flowery was getting at. But at the same time, did we really need an entire chapter to tell us this? Not to mention in the most hamfisted way possible.

I will be very upset if the Flowery and the other flowers show up again, after we were explicitly told they could only exist in that specific Dark World. I hope Toby isn't dumb enough to do that, but I'm sure he is.

Is he really just going to nonstop give us 'subversion of expectations'? If so, do it in an interesting and fun way like Undertale, nigga. It's not worth it to wait for chapters just to deal with unfunny rugpulls.
To be fair, in Undertale you don't get the answers until you complete the game the first time. You are just told the basics (go fight Asgore, kill him and use his soul to cross) but all of the exposition and answers are in the True Lab.

While I don't know if I still think that, I do think this chapter hints to me that he is willing to change shit around to capitulate to his rabid fans, something I consistently feared.
He is willing to change shit around to appease his rabid fans.

Honestly he only has himself to blame.

It was a cool scene but I thought it came totally out of nowhere. Though the Chapter 4 scene was fairly sinister and people had been speculating for a while that the Weird Route would end in Kriselle murder-suicide, it seemed more like things were going to gradually get worse from there. Instead, we got the call from Carol saying Noelle is excited to see us, then the next day it instantly escalated into two dead teenagers. It's a gnarly scene that would have felt less unearned and more impactful if it were in Chapter 6.
I thought that a bit at first, but thinking back, there are definitely clues that Noelle was suicidal before hand. I thought she was just sad about her sister, but girl wasn't just issues, she was a subscription. Kris apparently wanted to vere her away from this, but she needed us to take over to succeed, but she seems really fucking into it. She's the BPD girl.
I mined Noelle's "drowning" sprites out of curiosity, since the game starts shitting itself and makes some of them hard to see.

The 7th one interests me, since she seemingly comes upon some kind of light, deep in the water. You can see the contrast, the sunlight disappears and then some kind of light from below appears? I don't remember seeing the 8th so I'm not sure if it was even used.
Maybe they do just successfully clip out of bounds before they drown. They would still be gone from Chapter 6 but could still get up to some interesting fuckery in Chapter 7. Since they are video game characters and aware of that status by this point in the run it wouldn't be as out of place or tension destroying as if it was done in a story grounded in the real world. Noelle in the aborted weird route end talks like she's in the Sans situation, aware she is reliving the same loop of that week her dad died all the same things happening, doomed to ever just maintain her character. Trying to break out to change the story in some way would fit and not have to live with the double teen suicide.

Or like, he could stick with the dead kids and have Susie just stay in her dream world until it's wiped out by the Roaring.

It's a pretty fucking fumbled message if "the power of friendship, hopes and dreams won't solve the crisis at hand" if the only reason the villain using all that lost is because he hesitated because he didn't actually want to fucking kill Kris, and the other, the Knight Fight, was because he was literally trying to solo that shit because all his friends turned into flowers.
Shit man, the Knight isn't even strong enough to fly through a fucking wall. I bet Tenna or Queen would've blasted straight through that fucking wall.
In short, the Knight is glooby.

I'd like to point out that Green was clearly designed by the Megaman Sprite Game guy and appears to be a pseudo self-insert.
Here's how Brotoad draws himself:
I'm glad someone else caught onto that. I wasn't sure if he designed that one, but I kept thinking "This looks like something Splendidland would draw, and it kind of fits his personality post-trooning."

Sorry chud but this is major Fraudery cope..

I hate this guy. All I've ever seen from them was a single post saying that Hornet Man was actually trans, and that was enough for me to hate them forever. He's a goddamn beekeeper robot.

The knight is a fraud and I'm tired of pretending she isn't.
Give me sneak attacks, give me the protagonist working against his friends, give me Titans, give me weakened and already beaten Dark World Kings, or I retire.
Actually, speaking of Titans, isn't opening a second fountain in a Dark World supposed to summon a Titan? Is that just not a thing now?
Or did the Knight somehow manage to perfectly time the creation of a Dark Fountain to the exact moment that Kris sealed the Dark Fountain here?

I'm assuming the latter, contrived as it may be.

Breaking an established rule like how to summon a titan ONE chapter after you established it would be wild.

So this is interesting, apparently if you try to beat Flowery with violence, Ralsei and Susie stand up to you, heal him back to full, and refuse to fight anymore.

The more I think about Flowery, the more I come to like him as a character.
Unlike the previous villains, he doesn't kills you during the boss fight, he plays it as an act of mercy, but really, he's clearly the weakest out of all the 7 flowers, and once you finally are able to check on him, you finally realizes that he has the ability to create illusions, which he believe they'll eventually come true via the power of friendship.
He's charismatic and plays well with the others, but its all a facade, one he started to believe as well, building up his ego and causing him to do some extra idiotic shit like taunting ralsei or the knight.
I guess that's why the two stops you from attacking him, they know he's extremely weak and simply let you play along.
The damage he deals too is an illusion, one the knight was quickly able to break out from.
Did Dess's design get revealed? If she's not a goth baddie big sister domme that shows the rape scene she did with Kris, I'm not buying.

We got Rudy knight almost 100% confirmed, he was barely able to stand up during his appearance because he fell during the festival.
Actually... It's either him or Alphys, the flower shop being her fountain would be the sole reason the whole dark world is japanese themed, let's be honest.
Alphys is short and weak, so she could easily be the one who donned the armor for the situation in place of Rudy and Kris taking the blame for opening the fountain.
