Also after the egregious fucking lack of dialogue portraits for the last two chapters (and this one too! None of the other flowers but Flowery have them!), of course Blue gets a set. But they only appear for a select few of his lines, so it's clear he was some tranny dev's pet character and they just threw the portraits in the bits they worked on.

I have no idea the fuck happened with the weird route. First I went through with it all the way and got the "Insert chapter 7 side b" ending, then I tried it again and just stopped saying "proceed" before Noelle and Kris got too far into the lake, and... Noelle changes her mind and the rest of the chapter happens? I can't tell if doing this just fully aborts weird route or if there's still some sort of difference between this and normal route.

Your post has got the gears turning, but if you freeze berdly in chapter 2 and then abort the route in 4, will be be alright in 5?

It's genuinely impressive how hard Toby is trying to shoehorn Noelle into every aspect of Kris and Susie's relationship.
The diner scene? UMMMMMMMMM NOELLE SAYS SHE AND SUSIE CAN GO TO THE DINER TOO!

Unless this is building up to Kris crashing the fuck out and getting super jealous Toby has genuinely made the main character a cuck. Susie talks about Noelle non-stop the entire chapter, even to the detriment of her scenes with Kris. What the fuck is this shit?

Even if the theories about Kris having feelings for Susie aren't true and it's purely platonic this is atrocious. It's the same as your friend gettng a girlfriend and then immediately revolving his entire existence around her to the point you can;t even have a discussion with him without him bringing her up or do fun stuff without him bringing her along.

That kind of shit kills friendships. Toby what are you doing?

The only excuse I can give it is that it's annoyingly realistic because they're written to be about 15. It's peak "my friend just got his first girlfriend and won't shut up about it"

I'm just in genuine disbelief rn. I think this may actually be the worst chapter in the game, NOTHING was answered or explained.

It was just bashing you over the head with unskipable Suselle shit for half the runtime, a bunch of obligatory Undertale references, and a series of disjointed, uninteresting levels and a handful of neat gimmicks between mid bosses.

The puzzles aren't even memorable.

The weird route isn't even interesting, Kris and Noelle just kill themselves and you get locked out of chapter 6.

He dreamed about the ending. Over 15 years he lost the plot and forgot that things need to lead to that ending.

Personally, I'm all in on UT Asriel/Flowey somehow being Ralsei rather than the headband theory, which feels rife for a fakeout.
The creation of a Dark World would've allowed for Flowey to actually feel emotions without having a [Heart Shaped Object] of his own, and Sans is nearly walking proof that travel between the worlds is somehow possible.
Also, if Ralsei is just a simple physical object, then he can absolutely come to the festival, sure he might not be able to talk, but he'd still be able to experience it in some way, right? Tenna experienced the events of the Dreemurr household, as did Ramb, and all that other stuff.
Unless there was something that made him really really not want to leave the Dark World, like say, turning into an emotionless psychopath if he were to leave it.
We know that Dark World Experiments were done in the world of Undertale too now, thanks to finally understanding what Entry Number 17 meant.

Lets not forget that Asriel did turn into the physical manifestation of the Deltarune in his final form.

Kinda weird how his design incorporates 4 triangles/hearts though...

I just want to say that this chapter has done nothing but continue to affirm my suspicions that somehow Ralsei is post Undertale Flowey. His seething about Flowery and the fact Flowery fucking called him out personally at one point for faking stats for some reason is proof. Flowers are neither Darkners or Lightners was also a thing mentioned.
It also sorta explains how the fuck Ralsei manages to keep getting into other Dark Worlds and not turning into stone as well if he's secretly a sentient flower.
I would say I wouldn't expect Tricky Tony to really have been enough of a hack to REALLY go all in this theory, but after Ch.5 I'm not so sure he wouldn't.

No idea. I vowed to myself that I would never play chapter 2 and 4 normal routes ever again (I can't stand all that Suselle crap), so I'm not gonna try this out for myself. At least now I know that we can beat all 5 chapters without having to sit through any of the three big Suselle scenes, even if Susie's personality does start revolving around Noelle in chapter 5's dark world. I honestly might just skip chapter 6 and wait for weird route to continue for real.
