I legitimately thought there were more changes than fixing the one broken hitbox, but from my 5 seconds of searching that is the only adjustment they made? I guess I misremembered some of the later bullet patterns as being faster/more complex than they actually were. And the sword corridor just really fucked my shit up more than I thought.

Still glad I can say I beat the broken version, though.

That scene in Chapter 5 was an allegory of rape intentionally; it was meant to show taking a girl's innocence by breaking her will. Not in an obvious physical way, duh, as there were other people in that house and they would notice if the deer started screaming/struggling and/or the lewd noises involved. Unfortunately, Toby was too much of a pussy, and as stated already, his new audience won't have shocking scenes as that scares them, and they don't want scary content, as Futurama predicted long ago.
Undertale also had similar self-censorship in that you couldn't really kill (monster) children. The first one is intercepted by Fish-Face, and Flowey has Chara take control away from you.

I'm starting to agree. His wife is too much of a red herring and for all we know Rudy is only ill because of the side effects of being the knight. I'm guessing he became the knight as a way of searching for Dess and/or getting revenge.
 
Since this might as well be the designated Earthbound thread, the Mother 1 Remake (the one that’s a rom hack of Earthbound) is finally complete after many years of development. The team also released a QoL hack for Earthbound itself that supposedly backports improvements made from the remake, but I couldn’t find a list of what those improvements are.
From the hack’s YouTube channel:
“'Giygas Strikes Back!' is a hack that fixes certain bugs from vanilla EarthBound, changes Starman Junior's battle sprite, includes QOL features from the remake like buying items in bulk, running, makes the Kraken drop the Gutsy bat ( 1/128 ), fixes certain strange inconsistencies from Mother 2 like a missing bush in Deep Darkness, corrects all of the localization's typos, and changes certain lines that acknowledge it's a sequel like the Gas Station screen.“

… The catch is that this hack was originally being made by one guy who suddenly disappeared a few years ago, so this completed version is actually a community recreation made in large part by a tranny. And even though the main composer is the same guy who made music for the original version (who also worked on Star Fox EX), he has since trooned out as well. The FAQ says all dialogue was taken from the US version with fixes from Tomato’s Mother 1+2 hack, but I don’t know if I can trust the devs to not have shoved other tranny shit in one of these hacks somewhere. It’s a sad state of affairs.

I've walked around a bit and found out they added new interior rooms and NPC dialog to the houses around town that weren't there in the original. This can lead to cringe fanmade text for them, I haven't found anything too egregious so far, but I remain cautiously optimistic for it.
 
I predict that Chapter 5 will reference the Asgore truck meme. It'll probably be a throwaway line of dialogue like Ralsei chuffing back a fat dart... but I did notice Asgore has a car magazine in his shop. It is not impossible that he will have car in the Flower King dark world to run us over with.
