Seeing an interesting theory that the toy knives aren't from a flowey fight but a Kris fight. The attack is associated with the cyan soul, kris is cyan, uses a knife, and seems to be alone in the fight, there's not even an enemy on the other half of the screen.

Toby Fox has been known to "rip off" persona music. (https://www.youtube.com/shorts/YM4EAkGsTd8)
Perhaps he's borrowing themes from it as well now? Kris fighting himself does make sense if you subscribe to certain interpretations.

I can think of a good reason he'd attack us too. We're at odds with Asgore, after all, and he might not be too happy if we, whether intentionally or not, cause harm to his dad. I can imagine the fight being different in the weird route too, since apparently chapter 5 will have significant weird route content.

Alright, at home and dissected the trailer a bit more, so let's see.

1)These enemies are just flower versions of Rudinns in chapter 1

2)We can see here that this is some gimick fight with Trashy, Nubert (only recruitable if you recruited everyone in chapter 2), and the pink ball NPC in chapter 1 now with ball limbs. Might be fighting Dojo, but doesn't the Dojo normally have a boxing ring arena?

3)New flower pot enemy. Seems very gimicky with the flower pots on the bottom and catching a green raindrop.

4) I'd say this is probably the most important screen in the trailer. At first you think "Oh it's an important feather". It's likely a quill. Remember Gerson telling Susie about the "white pen of hope"? As I've said in this thread before, Gerson's explanation of chapter 4 is along the lines of "The smith gives the heroes a terrible weapon" and I theorized that Susie isn't supposed to be using Axes, especially the legendary axe which is all physical damage (useless for pacifist runs which the game encourages you do) and doesn't have any bonus stats (magic/defense bonuses or resistance to dark/star attacks) or hidden attributes like Spamton's Dealmaker which reduces damage from puppets and cats (Remember this if Woody theory turns out to be true or against Friend). Pens could be the weapon that Susie is supposed to be using.

5)This is probably the 2nd important one. As we've already discussed, this is the same attack that Flowey uses in his boss fight in Undertale for the Aqua soul (represents Patience). Will we be fighting something like Flowey? Does it just represent the knife that Kris is known for?

Kris is kinda the same color as the aqua soul. And he's known for knives. Maybe it's a weird route battle between the soul and Kris? It's kinda weird that there's no enemy on screen.

Hit it with "where the forest would grow" so we'll see what that gets me
Edit: Someone should try "behind the tree"
Another edit because thread slow:

People are saying this is the white pen of hope but I'm not convinced. I don't think it's a literal pen that rewrites fate because that's stupid, but I do think Susie probably thinks its literal, and gets the fuck gang sent on a wild goosechase over it. I'm certain this is a deliberate red herring, possibly even in-universe.

I hope the dragon bitch ends heavily implied she's dating kris, the troon and fag backlash on X would be amazing
