The one thing I got out of Asgore's vaugeposting at the end of the chapter, was that it seems like Monster Souls just, straight up don't exist in Deltarune. If you take this at face value, as I am, this seems to be saying that all Lightners have those colored human souls from Undertale, regardless if they're human or not. Since there isn't really a dynamic of Humans and Monsters anymore, I feel like this makes sense.

This would also imply that Kris originally had a Cyan Soul. But that one has been either extracted or destroyed. Also, if this is true that every Lightner has a soul like this, Susie 100% has a Red Soul.

Speaking of. I still think the retelling of history in UT is whitewashed. A lot of the info they give is lies. And I think the "Oh humans attacked us for no reason" thing is also a lie. Whatever happened around them finding out about human/monster soul combination is probably not as innocent as they imply. That whole tale is just there to give the monsters who never saw the surface a feeling of moral justification in killing humans. Tougher to go on the whole "Kill all humans" crusade if you know that the war was in part your kinds fault.

It's a bit weird because of how our soul exists and interacts with things. Kris being the only human in town doesn't help either. Can anyone just take their souls out too?

It makes less sense to me if they have souls like humans do. It's something that they would've established in the beginning, I feel.

So in undertale there was the Gaster Follower 3 npc that gave info on Gaster, but did not have a normal version in game (I think all other gaster npcs did).

In chapter 1 you meet Onionsan at the beach who tells you to come back tomorrow. In Chapter 2, he tells you that he's been hearing a song from the deep and will explore it.

Meanwhile, in chapter 1 that Striped Bird npc, which is the normal version of the Gaster Follower 3 is blocking the library stairs telling you how interesting the books upstairs are (they appear to all be very relevant lorebooks to what is about to happen in the story.) In chapter 2 he is upstairs, blocking some of the bookcases and saying the same thing. In chapter 4, he can be seen blocking onionsan spot, saying broken stuff like "Wait no". If you go back to the beach spot during the night, Susie will say your friend probably isn't coming.

Then you get the chapter 5. In the Weird Route, Susie states that the stand the striped bird normally mans was unmanned all day. Then when Noelle and Kris are drowning, it looks like they may be going into a portal from below. In the normal route, the striped bird is manning the octopus ball stand, Susie says that they taste like Onions. The bird also says something along the lines of "It only costs 2G. It only costs free." Gold was Undertale's currency while DR uses Dollars.

The theory is that the striped bird is likely a parrot, that's parroting things its heard but not understand them. People think it killed Onionsan and served him as food during the festival. If the portal in the lake leads to the depths, which likely leads to Gaster, then Onionsan may have been getting too close and needed to be taken care of. People also think it may have done something with Ramb too.

Its absolutely fake. Normalnpc is too busy blocking the library staircase in Chapter 1 to be killing anybody. Or at least, to cook and sell the remains.

I feel like Pink referencing Muffet was intended to be a way to show she's around without actually having to show her.
 
The bird knows that gaster is listening in UT.
Of the NPCs only he, the SOVL Kris & Sans have directly referenced Undertale.

Onion only has done it indirectly by talking about that song below the lake and got taken to the meat factory to have his tentacles chopped off.

can't you also go in chapter 3 or 4 with susie, where Onionsan will be suspicious of Susie and not tell Kris anything

Onion is only available in Ch 1 & 2.

Susie leaves after Onion tells Kris "i told you to come alone".

The other chapters you & Susie just talk to the murder bird & Onion being busy/gone.
