Trump Plans to Invoke Insurrection Act to Boot Illegal Immigrants - Fresh off of the rumor mill/ RT'd by dear leader

President Donald Trump is planning on using the Insurrection Act to remove illegal immigrants from the United States, The Daily Caller has learned.

According to multiple senior administration officials, the president intends to invoke the “tremendous powers” of the act to remove illegal immigrants from the country.

“We’re doing the Insurrection Act,” one official said.

Under the Insurrection Act of 1807, the president has the authority to use the National Guard and military in order to combat “unlawful obstruction or rebellion” within U.S. borders. The act was last invoked in 1992 by George H.W. Bush to quell the Los Angeles riots, and was also used by Eisenhower in 1957 to enforce school desegregation in the south.

An official expressed concerns that Trump’s use of the act’s powers would face legal challenges, pointing to the lawsuits against the president’s travel ban from majority-Muslim countries. However, as the official noted, the travel ban ultimately prevailed in the Supreme Court.

In addition to the Insurrection Act, the president is also considering declaring the country full and insisting that the U.S. can no longer handle the massive influx of illegal immigrants. 2019 is currently on pace to reach the highest levels of illegal immigration in a decade.

“If you take a ship and it holds 1,000 people maximum — one more person and the ship is going to collapse,” the official explained. “The country is full.”

“Our hospitals are full, our detention centers are full,” they added.

ICE facilities were forced to release 100,000 illegal immigrants in the first three months of 2019 because of overcrowding in detention centers. (RELATED: Overwhelmed ICE Facilities Forced To Release Illegals)

Separately, the president unveiled a new immigration plan Thursday that focuses on border security and merit-based legal immigration. The plan, which was co-authored by top aides Jared Kushner and Stephen Miller, would increase the proportion of visas granted to highly-skilled immigrants and also establish a self-sustaining border security fund.

The founders would be rolling over in their graves. A standing army AND it's being used for domestic law enforcement? They'd probably have to start the revolution all over again.

Thomas Jefferson was the President who signed the Insurrection Act into law. They were the ones who wrote the bill in the first place. The Founding Fathers weren't anarchists who started a revolution for the sake of starting a revolution.

The civil war wasn't until much later, what happened in 1807 that prompted this act?
Probably some smart guys sitting around thinking about possible challenges of governance. Similar to how some smart guys sat around planning their revolution from the moral, philosophical, judicial, governmental and logistical levels before they decided to pull the trigger on kicking ol' King George III in the shins. Sometimes it's really just foresight that prompts men to act.

Very fucking rarely, though. Lately everybody's just a reactionary faggot about everything.

Doesn't take a genius to figure out that the president should have the authority to suppress rebellions on his own initiative instead of waiting for the Congress to come to DC in horse-and-buggies.

I like your spirit but I politely disagree. This is one of those cases where it's required to maintain the integrity of the republic. Mass unregulated immigration to places like California risks corrupting the vote that is the basis for the entire federal government. And I'd go so far as to say that most of the founders would agree that enforcing the border between nations is as much a military matter as a law enforcement one.

Really, the illegals do not even have to vote.

The reason that there was such bellyaching over the citizenship question in the 2020 census is because House reps are counted based on how many people are in the state, according to the census. I imagine Trump was planning on excluding illegals from the census, which directly reduces sanctuary cities' political power in the House.

The point being, the mere presence of illegals increases a particular state's power in the House of Representatives.

Oh hey, using the army to enforce our border. I think I suggested it a while ago, though I had them build the wall rather than enforce the law, since army boys don't really know how to do that well. Still, hope he follows his words with said action.

I could see it being applied too, given there's a decent case for domestic violence and you could even argue conspiracy too.
You mean just shooting everyone isn't really enforcing the law?
Well I'll be damned.
There's a reason why Posse Commitus exists!

PC was part of the compromise of 1877, not the constitution. It was made to make sure Reconstruction wouldn't continue in exchange for the Democrats not kicking up a stink at President Hayes.

The National Guard doesn't bring a whole lot to this table. They can assist BP with surveillance, assist with detainee ops, assist with vehicle searches, etc. They don't have the training or mindset to do shit on their own, not without huge negative publicity anyway.

I imagine their role will be in manning/constructing new detention centers and facilitating transport. The nat guard has that sort of stuff handled pretty well.

Maybe if Fat Bastard actually followed through, I probably wouldn't roll my eyes every time I see something like this.

"I'll totally deal with the illegal immigrant problem. Tomorrow. Honest."

Is this likely to happen? Or is it just another one of Trumps threats? I'm a huge fan of Trump, but I am also just curious.
It's gonna take a pinata full of explosives hitting an ICE center or something. I bet the neocons have something cooked up for Operation Wetback 2: Wet Backer.

I think their media feeds them a 2 Minutes Trump Hate also, as TDS is quite evident in some of their populace. People I know there seem - young and old - seem to have TDS symptoms.

If you take a look at their media landscape its easy to see why. BBC is probably one of the biggest propaganda outlets. They are what PBS (Propaganda & Bull Shit?) would look like if it had 10x the budget (BBC has something like a 6.5 billion USD budget, compared to PBS's 500 million USD). The BBC has become an absolute joke. They try to glide by on their past aura of prestige, but I doubt as many are buying that illusion anymore. Then there is The Guardian, which is a notoriously blighted rag. There's the Independent, which resembles more a screeing blog than a proper news outfit. The more I read from their news outfits the more disgusted I become, its like reading CNN or NYTimes or WaPo.

It is in their best interests to present Trump in the worst ways possible, as they don't want their own people getting any ideas about demanding transparency and accountability from their government, don't want them demanding that their represenatives actually work in the best interest of their citizens and their country. The UK is probably a decade - maybe two at most - away from being irredeemably lost, but at this point in time an uprising could still change things, and those in power know that, fear that.
The BBC should just stick to making documentaries about nature. I'm always up to listen to a Brit ramble about praying mantis' fighting spiders or whatever.

As for an uprising. With what though? Can't exactly own firearms unless you're a parliament member that likes to duck hunt. I'm a firm believer that Britain is fucked six ways from Sunday.
