I can't remember when or who, but I had an exchange with a user on the site who outright said that Hamas were socialists because of something about them having a planned economy or some such drivel. Mamdani has made "making government work for residents" his goal while past mayors were focused on making the city more friendly to tourists and the ultra rich, sort of like Dubai. This was the genesis of the government grocery stores that got so much hate, if there are neighborhoods that grocers won't branch out into, instead of bowing and scraping with tax breaks and sweetheart land deals, the city can just build its own.
