I have never understood the MAGA obsession with communism, the Cold War's been over for 35 years at this point and REAL communismTM is only subscribed to in a handful of states. Anyone to the left of Ron Paul to them is Stalin, Mao, and Hoxha all rolled into one, and yet you could never find a Migger that can define communism. I can't remember when or who, but I had an exchange with a user on the site who outright said that Hamas were socialists because of something about them having a planned economy or some such drivel. If you know anything about Hamas or even Palestine in general, you'll know that the reason that Palestine isn't being prospering under the benevolent rule of the invisible hand of the free market is that it's occupied by a foreign power and barely has an industrial base to create and sell goods on a multinational scale.

The massive death tolls attributed to communism are less to do with communism and more with the harebrained schemes of the leaders in charge. It doesn't matter if Mao had been a fascist or a communist, he still would have thought that sparrows were pests that needed to be exterminated. Even traditional communism was more socially to the right; Stalin had the Doctor's Plot, the purges of all the ethnically Jewish leaders of the Eastern bloc, and rootless cosmpolitanism, and everyone from Khrushchev until Glasnost maintained the traditional line on homosexuality.

Their political worldview, like many people's these days, is entirely based on vibes. Their hatred of communism has nothing to do with the economic or societal model. They actively want socialism, they're just hoping that if they can kick people they don't like off government assistance their billionaires will reward them by redistributing it to them instead.
