Look. The entire reason I'm fighting on this point isn't because I want to defend Elon. It's because this is a symptom of the exact problem the country is facing as I see it. It's what I see with the TES miggers. They're two sides of the same coin. And I truly believe unless people are able to step back from the narratives created by the media, and look at politics in a more objective way things are going to continue being the same, or get worse.
If every time there is an important issue people should care about, if the media or political shills are able to misdirect peoples attention with the same bullshit they have for the last 30 years, we will get the same results we've gotten for the last 30 years.
I just want people to be able to see when they are being manipulated for political purposes.
Elon Musk isn't a good guy, I think he probably is evil, but I don't think it's because he's some edgy wanna be 4chan guy. When I actually see him talk about anything he doesn't come off like that even a little he comes off more like a autistic man. The reason he's bad is the same reason Peter Thiel is bad, or the Oracle guy (I'm blanking on his name), or all the others like him.
But instead, people flipped shit, firebombed telsas, got themselves arrested for destroying other peoples propery because of a video with him doing something that
resembled a nazi salute. And it's insane to me that showing the difference, pointing out even that steve bannon did an actual salute, people just come up with "well he made it different on purpose to have deniability" instead of questioning why they believe the culture war narrative they do.
This is the same problem with immigration, both sides have made it a racial issue when at most anything involving race is a symptom, and not the actual problem. But because it's racially charged by either side of politics nothing will change and most people won't even pay attention to the actual problem with mass immigration. And that just ends up benifiting the donors that want a flood of cheap labor.
This is all the same thing, over and over. On every issue. And if you point out that people have been indocrinated with propoganda they reject the idea. But to me especially now I think it's important than ever to try to fight against that kind of thinking when it's obvious. (For anyone that didn't see the post this started from, this is relevant to that elons salute wasn't even the main point it was an example). If people fall for this shit every time, they will keep using the same tactics, and we will get the same results. I'm repeating myself at this point, but to me this is more important than most things in politics because without people seeing it nothing will change.
Here are a few articles that kind of cover basically the same thing. I'm just putting more than because I don't know anything about the sites that wrote them so I want it have it covered from a few angles. But understanding propoganda and how it works. I feel is really important to understand how we are manipulated every day. If you don't know to look out for it you will always fall for it. Some of the articles shorter than others. Pick whichever you want and at least skim over it.
I just ask that people think about the whichever one of these you read, and then think about the things you are hearing from whatever source of media you chose to intake, particularly involving politics. Do you see where they might be trying to manipulate you? Are they trying to make you angry or fearful because then its easilier to convince you of what they want to?
