Only because he paid them to say that so tech nerds would perceive him as this cool and charismatic inventor, just like he pretended to play Mass Effect to appeal to all the Sci-fi nerds. Notice how to comparisons between Musk and Stark completely stopped after the second Iron Man film once the MCU started making bank and no longer needed third party investors.

I actually believe this. Tony Stark had a half century of character and story by the time Iron Man came out, and there is nothing about RDJ’s Stark that reminds me of Elon at all.

Tony Stark also was never intended to be this uncomplicated hero genius, he’s deeply flawed. He’s a 2D character on 4 color paper but has far more depth than Elon can dream of.

Also he’d never do a Nazi salute in present Earth in front of a room full of cameras then gaslight everyone. Other Earth Tonys, maybe.

If anything Elon is trying to copy Downey Jr's Tony Stark with all these promises of inventions that will improve humanity and the publicity stunts that go along with it. Difference is Tony actually delivered on his promises like clean energy and getting out of the weapons industry.

I hate to be that guy, but if they ran Bernie, maybe we wouldn't be this deep in shit. Or if they found some pro-worker guy who is 50 and not 80. At this point I doubt they will, they made an art of making the worst possible choices. Sleepy Joe was their best effort.

Say what you like about Michael Moore, but he summed the DNC up beautifully even back in Trump's first run. "We can't leave this to the Democrat party, are you kidding?! Even when they win, they still lose! How pathetic is that?!"

And I would like to remind everyone that the defense budget is being increased while the U.S. Forest Service is getting "reorganized". The reorganization involves a move from DC to fucking Salt Lake City (grim)* and the closing of 57 of its 77 research facilities (wtf is even going on). It's basically fucking dead.

*Edit: To be clear, this is bad because when you move a DC-based org outside of the capital, you'll lose 90% of the workforce stationed there. They just aren't going to move to a shithole for an increasingly uncertain job.

The one thing that annoys me about Trump, more than anything, is that he convinced (mainly) European, non-Spanish speaking Americans that they were somehow native to the USA with other groups not being so. I'd go as far as to say that it's really the core idea behind the MAGA movement.

How much of a history class failure do you have to be to actually believe that? If they properly applied that logic to themselves, then they would all be going back to Europe.

(Mind you, they'd have to keep to Eastern Europe away from Western and Southern Europe to not get triggered by differing amounts of melanin.)

This isn't even touching on the fact that Trump himself is a Scottish landowner and a 2nd gen immigrant and Musk is a 1st gen immigrant from South Africa. They're both walking, talking embodiments of what the MAGA followers claim to hate so much!
