Again, the modern right defines themselves as simply “what liberals aren’t”. Since liberals in general oppose the war in Ukraine, that means the party of Joseph McCarthy is now pro-Putin.
Tucker Carlson is a beautiful example. You can time his waffling to within a femtosecond of Trump airing his opinions. I know that he is just an entertainer, but he gets his ratings telling the right what they want to hear.
