George W. Bush was horrible, just in a different way. Don't forget what his presidency got us.

The patriot act was passed under him, that cancer is still basically in effect to this day. The NSA was given more power than they ever should have had. They locked people up with no trial, and tortured them for years on end. Really the human rights violations are maybe the worst in modern American history. That I know of. At least in modern history.

He got us into the "war on terror" over the complete fabrication they made up about wmd's. Which caused who knows how much damage to the middle east. Caused a flood of refugees to come here from over there. Really the Bush families ties to the intelligence agencies, from what I recall can almost put the entirety of the mahem caused by muslims on that family. We armed them during the cold war, because we wanted to have them help us destablize the USSR, then after they fell, the groups we helped, and armed formed the same groups that turned on us. Then we fought them over their attack on us.

Bush was overall horrible.

I think every president in my lifetime has been pretty bad though. They just each suck in their own way.

Seeing someone bring up Vivek in the mati thread got me thinking. Have any of you ever seen Trump dicksuckers actually try to justify Trump's endorsement of Vivek, and Byrone Donald's (i think that's his name)? I see people all over this site hate vivek, but I never see them even lightly criticize trump for saying "those are my guys".

The level of cognitive dissonance that must be going on must be disorienting for these people.

yeah. the tarriffs were the first thing that really bothered me. I'll be honest. I've always been a lolbert. I don't think I'll ever change my opinions on it. So I fucking hated the tarriffs. then the Epstein files thing happened. That was pretty much enough for me. By the way I do still think we should call him "alleged pedophile President Donald J. Trump" because that title is hilariously absurd to me. Anyway everything that happened after that has just been icing on the cake for me.

I was hopeful when he was first elected, but pretty quickly he started to show the direction things were going to head. I think the only thing he has done that I was actually happy with was pardon Ross Ulbricht, and also the January 6th people (although I personally wasn't that invested in it, I think pardoning them was the right thing to do). I don't think I can think of a single thing besides that. I think what DOGE did, could have been great, I'm not sure they were actually very effective at it. That could have been the only other thing I liked if it was pulled off better.

He's now threatening 100% tariffs on Canada because of 'proposed' China deals that might not even fall through and Carney just said Canada is not seeking a full on free trade agreement. He doesn't seem to understand that Canada only went to China because of all the tariff threats across the border, making trade impossible.

Countries are allowed to impose tariffs, and other nations can contest them. Thomas Massie, in his interview with Jimmy Dore, says the US has such power because it forces all other nations to use is debt-addled currency. Russia was not affected by the massive sanctions placed on it because it just dropped the US dollar entirely and switched to its own currency. The US is forcing the world to buy its debt and former allies are just considering dumping it entirely. When you get the EU, cucked as they are, to consider dropping all trade agreements, you fucked up.
