Tangentially related, but Emplemon released a new video, this time about the Sopranos. The reason I'm sharing this is because Emp, through no uncertain terms, via visual subtext, basically equates Trump to a criminal when discussing American culture. The timestamps for these moments are 3:49 and 32:23. Considering how his early rants consisted of openly bashing political correctness, Buzzfeed and Jimmy Kimmel, I seriously did not expect Trump to be referenced in such cold and dismissive way. As if he's just yet another small game crook that's not even worth mentioning. Do watch all of the video btw, peak youtube content by emp as always.

The 2000s was a big loss of a lot of conservative bromides and shibboleths. Trump’s second term is all about trying to restore those as quickly and artificially as possible. It’s not working because those have only been proven to be more false today.

They tried it first with DOGE and it failed. They tried it again with the One Big Bullshit Bill Act and it failed. This is round 3. There are certain targets they’re continuing taking full aim at. They liked how well things went with defunding USAID so there are more trophies like that they want to show off to miggers.

They'll get back on the Trump train when he starts jiggling his keys again, and they'll never admit that his fuckup is going to be catastrophic for communities that are already moribund because the only logical response to that is not to vote for his party. Try suggesting it sometime, they'll go straight to culture war shit as if the Cracker Barrel logo change and BLM rioters in a distant city is equivalent to the complete destruction of their way of life.

I have friends and extended family who are farmers and farmers are constantly bitching about how they don’t get enough in subsidies or crop prices are too low. Many farmers have crop insurance for shit like this and I suspect the only reason why Trump is going to bail out farmers is so insurance companies don’t get hosed in his trade war, of which America is currently losing bigly at.

If you want to know how Republicans are doing in the heartland, just know that Joni Ernst and Kim Reynolds has decided not to run as a senator and governor for an additional term in Iowa respectively and Democrats are flipping formerly safe seats. I don’t expect landslide losses for Republicans but things are very much not going their way in flyover country.

iirc EmpLemon had some mental breakdown few years ago which caused him to flip flop on a lot of topics, i wouldn't really pay too much attention to his opinions, he is just a zoomer youtuber.
