While I dislike them sugarcoating the real reason with dumb bullshit, I honestly think it'd be an improvement to remove it. Trump doesn't care about that star. He doesn't. If he did he would've said something by now. As far as I know the man hasn't even made a trolling Twitter post mocking the treatment it gets, let alone gotten visibly upset over it.

The ONLY people that give a shit about it are the people who chimp out over it and the people stuck cleaning up the mess. The latter will have one less headache, the former will be forced to go find something else to chimp out about since they can't throw a tantrum over something that no longer exists. They'll throw around that getting the star removed completely was a huge fucking victory for them over mean old cheeto Hitler(or is it cheeto Stalin now?)then see that Trump's already typed a new tweet that's about something entirely different and immediately forget the 'victory' and start howling again.
It's still fun to watch but it's getting too predictable.
