Much like how GamerGate is the boogeyman of ResetERA, T_D is the boogeyman of the political subreddits. Something that doesn't really affect them on a personal level (outside of foolish panic attacks and paranoia, anyway), and yet they are so scared shitless of it and use it as a scapegoat for all the world's ills.
 
This is something of an aside as it's not really salty and it's not really deranged, but I found this video of a speech Michael Moore had made just prior to the election and I can't get over the absolute irony of it. Moore's been my go-to guy for the butt of any fat person joke I've made for quite awhile now, and he's always been something of an egotistical prat, but he used to be so dedicated to anti-establishmentism. He didn't just rage against the machine, he wanted to rip it apart with his bare hands.

That Moore isn't really here, anymore. He left sometime ago, I'm not really sure when, but now that we're well past the election it's definitely not the Moore that we have, now. But this video just caught me so completely off-guard, because he got it. For a brief, little window of time he swung in so close to who he used to be. It's just so incredibly ironic that he's written what is probably the best endorsement for candidate that the old Moore was always dreaming that he'd see someday, for a candidate promising to rip everything down if it meant standing up for the middle-class, for the people who have been begging for help for all this time.

It's the most-glowing endorsement for Donald Trump that I think anyone has ever made, and he'll never even realize that he did it. There's really a sad sort of beauty to that.

I did a book report on The Turner Diaries in 7th grade and recall checking it out from the library and they had to give me a 2 minute briefing on how the book was Nazi propaganda and how dangerous its existence was. I'm pretty sure noone even knew the book existed before McVeigh read it. It's a flytrap for edgy teenagers that like dystopic writing.

it's not even "dangerous" it's just an edgy pulp novel that became more of a mouth piece over time and after the first half wasn't even following the diary format it originally had.
I still want to see these people read the chapter about the day of the rope though.

It was a weird association to make as a young teen. When someone said Nazi, my mind went straight to giant rallys where they burned books (thanks Indiana Jones). To have social prerequisites for checking out a book felt more 3rd Reich-ish than the book itself. Anyways, enough with the :offtopic:
