Much like how GamerGate is the boogeyman of ResetERA, T_D is the boogeyman of the political subreddits. Something that doesn't really affect them on a personal level (outside of foolish panic attacks and paranoia, anyway), and yet they are so scared shitless of it and use it as a scapegoat for all the world's ills.

it's not even "dangerous" it's just an edgy pulp novel that became more of a mouth piece over time and after the first half wasn't even following the diary format it originally had.I did a book report on The Turner Diaries in 7th grade and recall checking it out from the library and they had to give me a 2 minute briefing on how the book was Nazi propaganda and how dangerous its existence was. I'm pretty sure noone even knew the book existed before McVeigh read it. It's a flytrap for edgy teenagers that like dystopic writing.
