Puerto Rico is actually going to hold another referendum on their status in less then two weeks. They have the "stay the same/become independent/become a state" options that they had last time, but at first they wanted to exclude the stay a "stay the same" option, so that might be an indication that statehood isn't such a far off possibility considering that statehood won by a big majority four years ago (but wasn't binding). It'd be pretty interesting to see how both parties would react to them deciding to join the union.

On another note, I've noticed recently that in online places where leftists tend to congregate (r/politics, Neogaf, news sites comment sections and the like) that when the issue of polls and their accuracy are brought up there's a startlingly large number of people who respond with something like "RRRREEEEEEEEEE the polls were only off by 2%, fuck off troll/shill/brigader/trumpkin/fascist !!!!!".

You'd think that with all the time they spent bitching about the Electoral Collage they wouldn't forget about it so soon. They seem to be under the impression that political annalists were basing their projections on who was likely to win the popular vote rather than polling each state individually, and those polls were very off. Hell, there were some people who thought that Trump was actually going to win the popular vote but that he'd still be crushed in the EC.

I know its way to early to make predictions, but if so many people are under the impression that there were no problems with the polling last year then I'm much more confident that we're going to see massive chimp-outs during the mid terms when Democrats loose seats that they were "supposed" to win.
