Trump literally said like two weeks ago that it "wasn't to late" to get ride of Comey, i don't get why people are pretending like this came out of nowhere.
Usual suspects aside, I think a lot of people haven't decided what narrative they wasn't to run with on this one. There's a surprising amount of people including left wingers and former intelligence agents justifying Trumps decision.
Schumer's on TV right now and he looks extremely ass-hurt because he knows that if Trump makes a good choice for a new director (and people all over the intelligence community are making suggestions) would mean that the "independent investigation" he and his constituents have been clamoring for might not be necessary, and then they wont have as good of an excuse to drag this out forever.
