Honestly, fanfic is only really a pejorative because so much of it is suspension-of-disbelief-erasing mindfuckery (when it's not just outright poorly conceived and atrociously written with spelling and grammar errors aplenty). The fact that so many bad fanfiction writers just happen to be female doesn't erase the fact that 1) there's bad fanfic writers who are male (coughcoughrobertscoughcough), 2) there are some female fanfic authors who are good or even excellent 3) of course his English degree or whatever drenched him in Postmodern IngSocJus so he's conditioned to think this way. You know he's drunk the purple koolaid when he thinks Marxism is the answer to turning Megatron "good"...

People that think bad fanfiction only came about in the internet age or is dominated by women aren't familiar with the history of the fantasy genre. A lot of the fantasy genre comes from shit-tier pastiches and fanfictions of Tolkien, Howard, and Lovecraft (or, in extreme and typically much older cases, Lord Dunsany). Whatever magic those authors had- most of their followers sorely lacked.

fftopic:Which goes doubly so for Lovecraft- anything in that subgenre not written by one of the original Lovecraft circle seems to be aggressively, screamingly bad. Derleth and Carter were the harbingers of this shit, but even they were small potatoes compared to the autistic shitheap that is latter-day "Lovecraftian fiction".

Why in the fuck is it so difficult for so many people to write decent stories about giant robots thatbeat each others up and turn into vehicles? What SJW fanfic shit will they do to Unicron?
Oh and this shit is still nowhere as bad as Kiss Players (Yeah i went there) which is both pedoshit and unfortunately has a whole bunch of info that clarify stuff in the Japanese timeline.
