I grew up watching Always Sunny. Never watched Trailer Park Boys until last year. I gotta say, I like Always Sunny but I think TPB is a better show by all metrics and I wish I had watched it sooner. When they did the gag with Ricky shooting guns off at the barking dog in the first season I knew immediately that I had missed out on pure kino for years and I'm so glad I'm checked out TPB.

This post makes me feel so goddam old.

I adore TPB but I'd presumed the show itself was over. After hearing about the Mike Smith news I learned they filmed a new season and its going to be released next year. Also, apparently, Smith is officially stepping away from the show.

I haven't watched any of the movies, or the cartoon, but my gut doesn't like the idea of a new season, and especially not the idea of them continuing after that without Bubs.

This whole controversy just reeks of bullshit. This shit happened in 2017, and back then it was deemed a misunderstanding and the charges were dropped. Now 8 years later all of a sudden it gets brought back up JUST in time for a new season of TPB. This sounds like some planned out fuckery by a vindictive woman out for blood and money.

I always heard her and J-Roc's actors left because of Mike Smith. I've never even heard of Jian Ghomesh, does he even have anything to do with Trailer Park Boys? Scanning his Wikipedia page, it doesn't look like he does. Why would she leave TPB the same time the initial shit happened with Mike Smith if it had to do with some unrelated guy who, from what I've read, was completely canceled and fired from everything?

I do think it's weird that this stuff happens to come out right when they announce they've wrapped production on filming a season for the first time in close to a decade. If it was so heinous and disgusting, why wait 8 years? I don't even like the later seasons of the show, and Bubbles took up too much screen time instead of being the moral arbiter/straight man he was in earlier seasons. For fucks sakes, the newest movie was literally basically Bubbles the movie. So don't think I'm defending him or the actor, I do agree it is very suspicious timing, though.

Unfortunately with how cucked Canada is, it could've literally just been him hitting on a fan or some chick at a bar. Or it could've been much worse and actual full on assault. We won't know until any details are released, though.
