Toxic Avenger remake starring Peter Dinklage - Tyrion gets toxic!

Some might disagree but Kaufman, at least to my knowledge, has never been involved in making a good movie.
TA isn't some classic that shouldn't be touched, it's low brow trash.
Movies like this one, where there is a concept that might be interesting but the execution is horrible, are ones which should be remade.

You're low brow trash.

I love ya Lloyd you're like the cool grandpa I never had but why the fuck would you agree to this? The least you can do is distance yourself from the remake or admit you did it for money.

Oh well not to self hit up tromas website and buy something so they can have a little cash to pay for their website domain

You mean they won't laugh when a little kid gets brutally run over on a bicycle by a bunch of teenage bullies who have a scoring system where you get more points if you run over a nigger or a jew? Or when the gang leader calls honest cops faggots? Or a woman's seeing eye dog get killed? Or at our hero ogling a nude girl in the locker room? Or how the Chief of Police is an ex-Nazi? Kids today really need to be exposed to more good, dark humor.

Seriously unless the remake has a scene where a kid gets run over twice by sociopath teenagers, I'm not interested.
Or a guy whose face gets crushed by a weight machine.

Troma has always been about fucked up, dark comedy. Shit like that doesn't exist anymore.
I don't think Zoomers or even very many millennials will understand Troma humor.
They should do 1:1 remakes of all Troma films with 8 figure budgets because we have too many fucking pussies nowadays.

Scarface, Escape from New York, Robocop, Short Circuit, Clue, Flight of the Navigator... any other 80s thing getting an unnecessary, subpar or woke remake/sequel no one asked for in 2022? These greedy Hollywood fucks are better off just adapting some unadapted novels or making their own new shitty IPs.
Yep.

That scene in the diner was brutal. Will they replace the black thug who says "I think this bitch is blind" as he tries to rape her? Because that isn't gonna go over too well with the BLM crowd at all.

The scene with the kid on the bike actually got censored for awhile due to being too violent. For Troma. They used a watermelon for the kid's head and it squashes under the car wheels very spectacularly. It's since been put back in. Yeah. Can't see that one being in there.

I like Peter Dinklage. I like Macon Blair. I enjoyed him in Blue Ruin as an everyman who isn't very good at revenge. He was also in Green Room, a movie where Patrick Stewart plays a Neo-Nazi. I haven't seen I Don't Feel At Home In This World Anymore yet.

To be honest, when I first read about this I assumed Dinklage would be playing God as a replacement for Hank The Angry Drunken Dwarf. But he's staring as Toxie. Interesting. But I just can't see it having the same flair as the original low budget offensive gorefests.

Citizen Toxie is extremely offensive for current yearers.

I lovve the original films. I used to watch Troma movies on USA Up All Night. I don't think this is gonna appeal to me much because of how the current year works. They probably want to reboot this as a mainstream super hero saga. The cartoon worked because kids loved Toxie even though it was in no way a kid friendly film franchise. Kind of like what happened with Robo Cop. Oh well, maybe there will be a fun cartoon out of it. unless it's Calarts style.

Won't work. The entire series (and Troma films in general), have always relied on shock humor and highly exaggerated and grotesque imagery to retain relevancy. Hell, it's more or less the defining characteristic of Troma.

In (current year), it won't work, you can't have fun, stupid ass films anymore. They all need to have underlying themes (that fit certain narratives) and appease the woke crowd.

It would be funny if they reused Stan Lee's intro and outro he did for the fourth one.
I think the one way this could work is have subtle hints of other troma characters and have them appearing. Hell, have kabuki man be like the main "superhero" of tromaville prior to toxie.

I'm a fan of Macon Blair as an actor, but his only credit I'm aware of for writing was the film adaptation of Hold the Dark, which wasn't a very good Jeremy Saulnier (otherwise a great director) film. And I don't know of anything he's directed.

I'm a fan of Dinklage, but my hopes are as low as his stature.

I wish people would stop calling him “Toxie.”

It sounds all kid appealing and that wasn’t a movie for kids was it?
Then why did they have a fucking Saturday morning cartoon?

They called him Toxie in Avenger IV so not necessarily an off putting thing.

It'll also be difficult to mimic the tone of the films with several of the key personas of Troma now dead.

-Lemmy
-Joe Fleishaker
-Hank the Drunk Angry Dwarf
-Al Goldstein
-Ron Jeremy is pretty much dead
-Jon Avner

Not that that's what they have in mind anyway.
