I'm assuming most of those old doujin tracks from long-inactive groups are usually gone thanks to DMCA. Not because of those groups specifically, but because they later uploaded a few tracks made by Aramitama or one of those other groups that will spam takedowns all the time, so Youtube ends up deleting everything on the channel.

I've been looking at places like Mandarake and Surugaya for physical copies of CDs that I want, and some sites will let you put certain key words on an alert list, which will cause the site to send you an email whenever an item with that word or tag comes back in stock. You'll probably also need a proxy shipping service depending on the site. It's a bit of work to set up and can be pricy, but it's worth it to keep some cool shit from being LOST MEDIA . I kind of want to offer to buy any missing Touhou CDs that any Kiwis wanted so that I could set up alerts and upload the songs + scans for free, but I have no idea how many CDs are missing and it might get expensive quickly. Having a public list of media that Kiwis want might also lead to gayops from hoarding faggots, so idk someone might have to start a DM chain dedicated to recirculating old touhou songs that only 50 people have ever heard before

This has been a problem since at least when I joined in 2012, LONG before those faggots were raping the community with takedown spam. Besides, the Touhou Lossless Music Collection is a massive torrent, so it wouldn't be affected by DMCA. The community is just surprisingly dogshit at archival for one so massively autistic.

Not exactly, there is a set of guidelines that you need to follow. I think it's preferred if you e-mail ZUN(or his secretaries) personally for permission, but I am not sure.
Obviously, Team Shanghai Alice don't have time to scan the internet and check every piece of fan-media, so they don't act on every act of breaching.

I assumed they just simply wants the credits + author and you're 100% off the hook for any bogus takedowns, But it's hilarious because I also seen lots of bootleg 2hu merch, videos thumbnails, animations and so on.

I was very curious on why this IP get to see it also plastered in a vtuber, Heck even the fumo 2hu stuff is like seen everywhere and got my thinking ¿are the IP holders ok with this?
