We need more characters like Seiga.
I wished that ZUN used Seiga more instead; Touhou is really lacking in the villains department when the only 3 outright evil characters that I can think of are a Taoist Necromancer, a Giant Catfish and someone's arm who got sealed in the end anyway and fucked off, but that doesnt necessarly mean that the only prominent one of the three that we have is bad, I know that Touhou kinda banks on the "new characters each game" aspect in the games, but in the mangas, for the few Seiga stuff that we got, its real good (Bitch literally showed up recently in FDS and in less than 3 pages she managed to invade Satori's personal space and traumatize the girl, that's my goat)

(Before someone wants to bring up the lunarians, I highly recommend for you to stop using KKHTA as a valid touhou source, its literally just another civilization who happens to have random beef with Yukari and anyone who compares them to ww2 germany needs to have their internet access revoked and start working on their 8th grade homework instead)

Also, given the way Seiga is written, you could make her the mastermind behind basically any stupid and comically evil plots that you can come up with and have it make sense for her character since she just wants to have fun by doing evil things, but maybe the fact that she doesn't really act on large-scale with her actions is what makes her even more petty and funny than she already is

What about Seija? Wouldn't she count as well?

What about Seija? Wouldn't she count as well?
Seija is more of a unique case, its more so that she acts this way because its in her nature as an Amanokaju and she probably needs to do it for her own youkai species survival, its kinda like asking yourself "Is a carnivore animal evil for killing another animal to eat it to survive and feed itself?" and I see that principle also applied to Seija's character if we consider her nature as an Amanokaju, which we can't even determine if she can even fight on her own volition these Amanokaju instincts or actively gives into them because she likes doing it

She is treated as a villain by others, especially Reimu, mainly because she is trying to break Gensokyo's "status quo", which is basically a really important plot point in the entirety of touhou lore across the games and print works, the idea of maintaining balance between the various inhabitants present in Gensokyo, a lot of important people like Reimu, Yukari or even Eiki preach to others about how important it is to maintain and protect it, so its obvious that she would be portrayed as someone outright despicable for trying to aim for a demolition of the very system Gensokyo was always built on

If you think about it , if you make the hypotetical case of filling Gensokyo with people who act like Seiga, Seija would turn into Eiki levels of lawfully good upstanding in her behaviour and it's hilarious to think about

> Or is this also a type of joke, like Lady Remilia's statement that "Sakuya is dead" in EoSD?
"Sakuya never died in EOSD. This was just banter from Remilia."

I used to think she was canonically dead... until I remembered she's playable in the next game

From murderous psycho woman who commits genocide for fun to kind flower gardener lady is genuine life goals💚

how am I only now discovering what KKHTA is :lossmanjack:

Nahh there's no way Flan loses that 💀

Yes I know I ignored the 500 "this will fuck how you view 2hu forever and ever" warnings. I'm sorry for being curious really
I think the two words that came to my mind throughout were "grimdark" and "character assassination". After all the characters go somewhat insane it just became hard to follow, given how clearly un-insane they are specifically with Koishi's rampage (getting help from others, Remilia being honest with Flan etc.) It's clear Sentaku could've made a compelling story but chose not to.
At first this reminded me of that Yukiyukite Girls und Panzer doujin where everyone dies and there's Abu Gharib references for some reason, but after seeing Chen and Ran turned into human bombs + the incredible amount of amputations throughout goddamnit I don't like thinking someone gets off to this as guro. At least the animation quality gets dramatically... better?... as it goes on.

More importantly this is yet another case of Lunarian slander. We as a society can do better I think
I'll need a long detox before I can listen to Hartmann's Youkai Girl again.
holy fucking triplepost I am sorry

“That’s it? That’s KKHTA? …That was just edge for the sake of it!”

I have never watched KKHTA much before, and I seriously doubt that it’s anything more than “Look, Koishi is a very bad girl and your favorite Touhou characters are brutally killing each other! You wouldn’t expect that from a Touhou webseries, right?” Is it actually worth watching, or is it that overrated by normies?

I wouldn't expect to listen to the average KKHTA fan when they are just a 15 year old living for edgy shit, and no, I dont think Touhous brutally murdering eachother because "the moon and lunarians woohoo" or Kogasa getting crucified is some sort of "peak storytelling" as the kids like to put it

Lunarians slander is either composed of people bringing up KKHTA or comparing them to nazis, and both are honestly depressing levels of "I don't want to do my own research and get informed"

It's been awhile, but it goes from Koishi fucks up the SDM to... The Lunarians set out to kill Yukari, and start some eldritch horror shit. They shoved a bomb in Ran, and used her as a suicide bomber against Yukari, it was brutal. She survives by fusing her body to Koishi's. I think they shared a consciousness for a bit.

Everyone is driven crazy by the moon, and the youkai begin slaughtering each other. This is all done to bring down the Hakurei barrier, and merge the worlds. Eventually, they open up the inner eye of everyone, everywhere, so that there can be no more boundaries. Koishi is still closed, so she's the only one left with a boundary. Yukari is still alive, and now separate from Koishi, but Ge sokyo is gone. Every other Youkai that's somehow made it through The Merge is labelled a Kaiju, and fucking obliterated. Reimu and Marisa, now both monsterous kaiju, suicide-bomb a Lunarian space weapon while remembering their old selves in Gensokyo. That part still chokes me up a little.

It's very edgy, very bloody and grey, but idk the story is interesting. I'd like to see if it ever resolves.

Poster complains about Lunarian slander, but has Clownpiece as their avatar and username.

Fellas, is Hell compromised?
Hey, the Lunarians may go against my goat, but at least we should slander them for things that are canonically accurate and not let the normies spread misinfo, like them relying on Sagume to save their asses all the time and having the dumbest plans ever 9.5 times out of 10

But at the end of the day, I do care and love for every touhou girl to some degree, especially Clownpiece❤️💙

KKHTA is Touhou's Sonic.exe, that is to say, it appeals exclusively to angsty tweenagers and pedo manchildren. If neither of these describes you, you should do something more productive with your time, like watching paint dry or listening to breadtubers.

Oh yeah, KKHTA, I remember that shit because in the Touhou hispanic communities this garbage was considered for a long time as "The Evangelion of Touhou" (even a nigger made a video with that title and later, he erased it)

I will forever be assmad at how many of Herbivora and White Elephant's albums are juat fucking lost to time on the clearnet and even the Lossless Collection while fucking Felt's entire discography of samey downtemposlop is perfectly preserved.
Navigating the seven seas is not a moral choice, it is a necessity.

Navigating the seven seas is not a moral choice, it is a necessity.
The seven seas only have half of White Elephant's discog and two out of like twenty albums from Herbivora's. Even Vietnamese forums are of no help here. For some circles, it really is just that dire. It gets even worse the further back you go, where even doujin albums noted for being among the fandom's first products, such as 2006's Akametal, are damn near lost media.

EDIT:
Archival is certainly not helped by the usual piracy scene faggotry, where reupping someone else's rips elsewhere is frowned upon... Which does absolutely fuckall to help preserve rips. There are a handful of albums I can immediately think of that were sold only in limited quantities at single events which live on hard drive and seem to exist literally nowhere else, and if I try to reupload them to Doujinstyle or another aggregator I'll just get bitched at even though the albums do not seem to be in physical circulation anymore. It's especially bad for albums that were distributed digitally for free on their obscure circles' respective websites, as for most of these nobody ever bothered reupping them anywhere because, hey, it was free, there's surely no reason to pirate it, right?

It's all so tiresome, man.

Edit 2: Golden City Factory put out over 50 albums. Less than half of them are publicly archived. All of them live on my hard drive. One of those that seems lost is Nekomonogatari, which is by far one of the best jazz albums the fandom has produced. This is sadly still a huge improvement over a few years ago, when the exposed Russian FTP server from which I manually downloaded each and every track, individually, went down, and only two or three albums were public. It is not radically better for TAMusic, with about a hundred albums spanning nearly 20 years and only a portion of those available.
