I'm late here but if anyone likes really tight zelda-puzzle-room style design, Prodigal cause is better than zelda at it and really gets that nog joggin.
The allure of Zelda, from the first game and onwards, was never being locked into dungeons all the time. I don't know if Prodigal is like that but Zelda was about having to go from the world into the "underworld" to progress in the normal environment. Dungeons were the challenge that opened up the game. That applies to Zelda 1 and onwards!!!

Its a limited format but I feel like this type of game is the best for "mystery adventure" games cause the world feels nice. Thats one of the things which feels annoying in 3d zeldas and zelda likes, the world traversal and secret hunting feels like shit whereas in these kinda games, it feels good. I wish they make more of these not in the zelda format, theres too many zelda ones, they should try to make a resident evil style game or Goof Troop style game in this formula. That would feel really good to play.

Roadout release:
resident evil style game
I think the game that most fits said description is Conscript:
There is derivatives like Darkwood and Tunguska, but these are more focused on surviving while scavenging for resources rather than the classical RE-style experience.
One upcoming game that might be more like classical RE is Void Martyrs:
