Thoughts on misogyny/sexism?

I used to be really against it, but as I've gotten older, I've come around and understand a lot better now why people are sexist and misogynistic. Women really do have a lot of stupid beliefs and behaviors that are self destructive to themselves as well as to society. I think the final straw for me was taking some advice from women's publications and other women, which I don't usually do and which ended very poorly. We need to at least be able to talk about this stuff instead of pretending like women do no wrong.

That's not misogyny, that's just the ability to say "no".

Simply instituting legal equality would put women in a very different social position. Currently, women have a variety of special legal favors in the marketplace, both as consumers and employees, and in education, due to the Civil Rights Act's disparate impact clause. Remove those favors, and a lot changes.

Of course, women voters would never tolerate legal equality, and since women vote more than men do, their privileged position would be quickly restored.

I don't see a contradiction here. Men and women are different and also giving men legal rights over women is dumb. Men are naturally competitive, with each other; giving men legal ownership of women is retarded because women can no longer do their job of sexual selection of the best men.

The human species did a pretty good job of mate selection from 75,000 B.C. - 1960 AD. Now that women are fully autonomous, they're choosing not to mate at all.

Man, this past year 9 months must have been crazy for you if you were able to switch the flip that fast.
A lot of men don't seem to understand that they aren't competing with Chad and losing. They are competing with NOTHING and losing. So many women find modern men to be nothing but a burden, and it's literally more worthwhile being alone rather than putting up with them. Raising a kid alone as a single mother is universally acknowledged to be a massive burden, yet most modern women are choosing that over having a man. Why? The man is more like another child than a partner. They are so much more work for women that it just isn't worth it. And for what in return? Most men nowadays are pornsick coomers. They don't work out. They act like children. They don't help out around the house. They expect women to manage their lives. A lot of them don't even bring money into the house. They are too weak to protect their women. They don't even have good hygiene. Do you know how fucking insulting it is to get yourself in tip top shape for a man that won't even shave his unibrow, or take a shower every day? Why would anybody want this? There's a reason the vast majority of men have never reproduced in history. Historically, this excess of men have been disposed of through war. Also historically, men having a monopoly on being in the workforce has been to their advantage. Interesting that as soon as women can take care of their own lives and have their own money, THEY DON'T WANT MEN. It's just not worth putting up with all the bullshit for some mediocre dick. I know people here like to joke about lonely cat ladies but pretty much all available evidence shows women are happier in their old age without men. Widows are some of the happiest people out there. Meanwhile, men's quality of life deteriorates when their wife/caretaker dies. Really makes you think.

Men had special legal favors for thousands of years, which forced all women to mate with all men. To pretend that's more natural than women having the choice to dobwhat they evolved to want to do is a hilarious cope.

This about summarizes my thoughts on misogyny:

As for sexism: It's a lot like racism. It's only a problem if you're being unreasonable.

Stabilizing personal views is often a long and tumultuous process. Godspeed.
My views in general change a lot, maybe too often. Since about a year ago, I've gotten better at seeing things from different perspectives and trying to understand why people see the same things so differently. In the past, I always saw things from the perspective of a typical woman in the US: men commit most crimes, men harass me on the street, men think I'm dumb and shouldn't have rights and maybe am not really a full person, how could I stand for that? It's immiscible to my entire reality and sense of being, to be a thinking intelligent being and have people suggest you're not one. And on top of it, look at all the shit they pull, and then they have the audacity to blame women for the world's problems? That made me extra mad. That was my perspective, and I think it's a pretty common one for women in America.

But since I've been been more open to different perspectives and trying to understand "the other side" better, I can commiserate with other views, including strange and extreme ones. When I try to see things from the perspective of an average guy in America, things look a lot different. I can't really deny that some of the behaviors and other things they complain about do exist and may in fact be a problem. My older comment about women being happier without men is predicated on the assumption that that is a true statement. But is it really? Are the women around me necessarily happier without men? Would I be? (no) What basis do I have for believing this statement? Was it a study? Just one? Was there a meta study? Do I believe that such studies are always accurate? Do I believe that people respond to studies accurately? Do I believe that studies cannot be exploited to drive a narrative? Does my real life experience show this to be true, or do I see different outcomes? I've long struggled with happiness myself, and I do indeed find the career path thing pretty hollow. Most of the other women I know don't seem very happy, and most women in the media giving advice and stuff don't seem to be either. My personal happiness is pretty important to me, so I'm questioning these things more and more and realizing a lot of advice for women just isn't good advice.

If I've learned anything, it's that there's always two sides to the story, especially in a world of 8 billion people. The group of men I described in the past comment do exist. The kind of women incels describe also exist. Often that's the problem, people are always talking about different subsets of people with these things. Like there is a group A and B of women, and a group A and B of men, where A are Average/good people and B are Bad people. Most of the conversation is between A men and A women who THINK the people they are talking to are B men and B women, about B men and women. I think my original post falls into that fallacy as well. You could probably write a pretty similar incel post. A lot of the complaints men and women have about each other are just the same complaints from different perspectives. I mostly just wish we could talk about all of this stuff more openly.

The government isn't male-dominated. It was in the past, which is when the position of power, which this country still enjoys in its waning days, was established and forged.

There was no education prior to the 19th Amendment. I'm not even sure written language existed, since so little survives from those dark times.

It all depends on what misogyny and sexism means. To many women it means potentially having to face accountability for their own actions or be treated the same as men. There’s nothing more horrifying to a feminist like equal rights. I think many women truly do want to be treated the same as a man but having grown up as a woman in modern society, have no idea what that actually means. I think when the rubber hits the road, women would fall behind and never catch up. Fortunately they won’t have to because there’s no actual force that wants to make western women equal to men; western women will continue to enjoy privileged lives for the foreseeable future. Eventually demographics will change that but not yet.

Misogyny? That's Mr. Ogyny to you! ;)

I had a dark thought... maybe the reason there's more pedos these days is because a little girl is less likely to be a bitch, because she knows she's utterly powerless.

Ugh, I feel sick for saying that.

Men and women are not the same.
That being said: women’s value to society should not be denigrated as "inferior." Men have a rightful place in society and so do women. We should respect each other when we fulfill those roles, criticize when we don't, and uplift those who excel.
