But DND has basically always sucked anyway. Ever since it changed from a combat simulator where the average character would die before reaching level 3 to a "hero" RP simulator where everyone takes the same special snowflake character all the way to Level 20 and beyond, it's been a shitfest. DND was never meant to be used for that sort of RPing, it was primarily created as a dungeon crawling and adventuring game, ever since the days of AD&D. But I digress.

Usually when it comes to corporations, the initial problem is always going to be the money guy, either someone hired to make money, or someone that the lender approved, or someone who works with the lender in some way. Atari's friction with upper management happened after they sold out to Warner Communications. On a longer scale, this happens with CEOs and you start to recognize a pattern.
1. The Original CEO who built the company and makes it a success.
2. The lesser Successor CEO who could never live up to his predecessor's legacy but still understands the organization and its goals.
3. The Power CEO who expands heavily and loses sight of the original mission. He sees the Successor CEO as the template, not the Original CEO. This is where things go haywire.

So in theory (assuming you're not publicly traded, that shit is the kiss of death for most things good), you could rectify a lot of these problems by exclusively promoting from within. Someone who rose through the ranks and just so happened to also be good at the money stuff will be far more considerate of the mission.

Another good IRL corporate example is Boeing. Their most prominent CEO other than their founder was Bill Allen, who despite being a company man, was a lawyer, not an engineer. But he had been around long enough to know the engineers and the work they did, so he knew when to defer to them and their expertise, even being willing to take gambles for the sake of projects that seemed risky, but he knew his team could pull off (the 747 was more or less a gamble that the company bet their whole future on) . Compare them to the leadership they inherited when they merged with McDonnel-Douglas in 1997. They were hyper-focused on the numbers and lost sight of the mission, not letting them take on many new R&D efforts and trying to rush those they did allow to please the investors (the struggle getting the 787, the only brand new civilian jet they released since the merger, designed, certified, and produced).

In this case, the money men will happily grift for those ESG funds, hence all the fag flags in every game and everyone being increasingly androgynous. And nothing screams ESG more than a black transgender lesbian in a wheelchair.

I assume with a troon, it's actually very easy to come up with reasons to fire them other than the fact that they were, you know, a gross troon. Troons are really good at giving employers reasons to not want them around.

To me SCP will always be thing where I'm most surprised how troons latched as badly onto it as they did.
