The Super Best Friends Super Best Griefing Thread - Matt's a cuck, Liam is a bitch, Pat's a loony and Woolie's Way is now trademarked

And on the other end of that is one of them gets super butthurt and a giant argument starts or they never even recorded as whatever happened went down when they were all there before they recorded so the video doesn't even exist.

I still want to know what happened on that week/day because Matt skipped the podcast that week and Paige was on instead. Then it seems like videos just stopped being recorded except for the planned fisticuffs which they were still prepared to do as of the day before then the day after the channels dead.
That whole week was without a doubt a powder keg. Yeah, they'd been soldiering on for at least a year at that point despite the rifts forming but I agree that there must've been some kind of flashpoint that made it clear they can't continue. None of them were even in the same building during the finale, so that's how you know the nerve was raw.

I still think they owe it to the fans to just come clean and explain what happened, the fact that they still haven't two years later really sucks.
One of them is going to have to end up dead or go completely broke before we get any kind of info on what happened. You got to treat it like the Game Grumps breakup, where you'll hear it someday, but it's going to be like 10 to 20 years from now.

...I'd pay top dollar to see that video.

They probably stopped recording at that point.

They learned that lesson a few year back when they were still doing the Mailbag videos - in one of them some footage was left in of Pat being disparaging about some of "stupid shit" they kept getting sent. They pulled it down and removed that part of it, but some redditors grabbed it and saved it.

I don't recall them making that mistake again in the future, which means they learned from it.

It was one of those tacky "fantasy" swords, full of spikes and shit.
It was shitty of him to talk shit about if after pretending to like it, but then, who the fuck sends that shit?
And at least he apologized about it.

if i recall it wasn't just "wow someone sent me another tacky fantasy sword. i hate this shit" and more

"dude this isn't america. i live in canada, stop sending us actual weapons, this is actually kind of illegal here"

at least that's what i remember him saying.

I swear they did that on purpose, talking about how tired they were of getting stuff, then splicing it in at the end like it was an "accident". It's exactly the giga-brain plan one of multiple of them would cook up, as opposed to just being adults and saying "yeah guys, we're shutting down the mailbag because we're overwhelmed and we can't have weapons in Canada".

I still think any content creator that opens a PO Box just to get freebies from fans is sleazy. Shout out to that one guy who sent them a bag of live ladybugs though.

iirc it was almost entirely cause people kept ramping up on sending them random switchblades and shit every week just to fuck with them over the legality, with the sword being the breaking point so i'd "accidentally" do that too tbh when they probably just wanted people to send them fanart and letters and shit.

i swear the people that actually spend large amounts of money on "gifts for youtubers" are the most deranged consumers possible, the one guy that bought them 600$ worth of collectors edition box sets in one package could not have had a good home life if that's what they're working into their budget, and not sending that back out of principle is pretty sleazy as you're 100% taking advantage of a mentally deficit dude at that point

Didn't they do that "mistake" again in another video and you hear woolie and Matt scream at each other and it was a clear parody of the mailbag "mishap"

Listen to the "EUROPEAN EXTREME" episode of Woolie's podcast where it sounds like there had been screaming fights via text well beforehand.

Woolie providing you with the content you want. His hot takes on DMCA law and American Politics/Senators

Also hes censoring the Youtube videos now muting swears or at least for this one he is.
As a Canadian, nothing interests me more than another Canadian talking about the laws of another country.

Is he at least accurate, or is this another case of listening to one source and not fact checking it like the lore video?

Somewhat. He's right theres a Senator whos been bribed via Superpac donations to push this. But its just a lot of him being outraged at the idea of it and Reggie seemingly being dumber than him just has a bunch of very stupid comments like how the constitutions out of date ect.

Oh absolutely. But they're all so fucking coddled by the fanbase that if you ask too many questions you get dogpiled for being entitled or wanting to know their personal business. I will say that I still believe that all 3 of them were being cunts to each other instead of just Matt being the problem.

Some were probably trolls but I think a few of their fans got in their heads that the group were actual anime characters and were going to have some kind of use for all those weapons.

This I completely agree with. The whole concept of mailbag really got under my skin because these guys were getting cool, expensive things completely for free in these massive hauls. Maybe it's just envy, but what a cake deal. What kind of rich asshole has the kind of resources to spare to send this kind of stuff to dudes that they'll never meet?

I definitely don't think Matt is the only to blame, for sure.

2 of the fucking TTGL box sets which were stupid expensive, Figures, Various candies from around the world. It was a fucking sweet deal. The only thing ill defend them on for the mailbox is it sounded like Matt wanted to start it because people kept asking where they could send actual fan art and work they had done to a physical address. They did get some cool fanart prints and stuff through the mailbag as well and i think that was probably more of the original intention for it.

Well we did it fwends

Today marks the official second anniversary since the split. A lot sure has changed eh? Let's look back at some comments from when the split first happened eh?

At least Woolie and Pat will keep the podcast alive in some fashion. *sigh*
Well Francis, you was right with "in some fashion" that's for sure.

I kinda want Pat and Woolie to do more stuff with Achievement Hunter.
Considering what happened with Ryan and Adam recently, we should be somewhat thankful? But on the flipside, Pat and Woolie pretty much did no cross-promotion with just about ANYONE in these past two years. Absurd.

Pat and Super EyepatchWolf aren't even friends anymore. Would BrunoMattei maintain his "based" status for Pat? Only time will tell as we browse the thread

Pat has also stated that he would just love to live DSP's life of no responsibility, even for a day. Specifically "hey a bunch of the recordings got fucked up really bad and cut in terrible places by the auto-editor. Upload them anyway, who gives a fuck."
Pat would go on to do this for a living. Fitting.

It's funny seeing this thread dip and turn from "Oh man, so sad the group is breaking up!" To "Fuck Matt! He's a cuck!" To "Pat and Paige are annoying now." To now "They're all lolcows, they need their own thread, rabble rabble DSP rabble rabble."

Not trying to discredit anyone and call you a faggot or anything I just find the evolution of the thread to be amusing.

I still enjoy the podcast because of their personalities. I also don’t think the quality of their videos has gone down, just that the format has changed in ways people don’t like. Pat has said repeatedly that his Youtube channel is just a stream archive for VODs. Woolie’s been experimenting recently with how he does his videos and is gonna try streaming and then editing those into LP-style videos to respond back to criticism better.
And I’m with @BrunoMattei here, though I’ll add that I think some people on here are just taking them way too seriously with stuff they joke about. Either that or they’re hearing what they want to hear. Like I don’t think you have to love them or even like them, but acting like they suddenly terrible and awful is just silly.

I think it's fine that Wools plays the games that he wants to play. I mean for ffs, that was the primary shtick of the old channel

my problem is that Minh and Reggie have zero fucking charisma and therefore Woolie's whole channel might as well not exist for me. I wish he and Pat would play more stuff together... more than none since what, the end of RE2 last spring?

also hi everyone, I'm new here. Glad to see I'm not the only one who can't fucking stand Matt nowadays

Pat is at the best place for him. He's enough of a goof to have shenanigans, clever enough to make jokes , and simple enough to laugh at himself. Has a good lineup of games. Needs to pace himself batter tho, sometimes his prep and brakes are too long

Woolie - also mostly in the right place. Being a more quiet and yet more wordy podcasts are his alley and so is his channel. He's not as "insane" as Pat which means he might need editing for some quiet moments. He's lineup sucks. I can respect play what you like attitude but there's so little.

Liam - should've been on youtube, doing some skill based content, like completionist or pro-series... Fuck him tho he deserves every bit of his obscurity

Matt - he's stuck in 2009. He treats his youtube as a network tv channel. When YT channels are at best like dedicated cable channel. He wants to be one-man-Machinima, but large number of shows, or at least themes for those shows fuck up algorithms. It worked for SBFP because a themed month was still about let's plays but his solo stuff? There's a Wha Hupn? about fuckups hosted by talk-show host Matt, a noir biographies with Noir-Matt, memories about stuff like Duke Nukem With more real but polished Matt, regular LPs and rants. WTF is this channel and who the fuck are you?
It's amazing how much good faith and support from many of the threads most active names has been diminished. It's hard to believe most of these quotes above are from a year ago. Fuck me did they piss it all away. Least I didn't say anything stupid eh?
Woolie may flounder with most video-games and sure his tech skills are that of a proud boomer, but you undersold his main skills. His voice and his organisation skills. Now many of you are likely looking at this somewhat confused, others likely laughing. But it's the truth. Woolie has taken advantage of his position as the "entry level" fighting game guy and begun to do commentary for a variety of sets. This itself isn't a profitable gig by no means, but it's what it leads to. If CSB was to end tomorrow, I guarantee he'd end up as a community manager for some fighting game. Hell, he'd be the perfect compliment to the tranny on the Kombat Kast over at Warner. As for his organisation skills? Perfect for ensuring tweets and other media go live. Plus most CM roles are work from home now, ensures he can do the streaming on the side.

Alternatively he'd end up becoming one of the token staff members for some Canadian based radio or media publication.

Pat on the other hand, he's... Inept. He flat out admits he does not watch or engage with other streamers/producers, which is something you must NEVER admit to when your entire platform is build around content consumption. And with the ever-evolving landscape of content, those that are currently friends of his (German Spy, Clemps, Eyepatch Wolf etc.) may not be relevant come next week, let alone next year. He won't be like DSP or Spoony... No, he'll have a sadder fate. He'll become like Hutch or OnlyAfro. Bygone names of eras past.
Oh

As a Canadian, nothing interests me more than another Canadian talking about the laws of another country.

Is he at least accurate, or is this another case of listening to one source and not fact checking it like the lore video?

Not really accurate, based on my checking it out.

All the rumblings about the DMCA and Twitch are mainly revolving around streamers using licensed music for which they have no license/permission. Not streaming of video games, for which streamers typically have permission (and are given free copies of the game, streaming support, or outright paid cash).

It's also because Twitch (and by extension, Amazon) have been telling the RIAA to basically "eat shit" for 2+ years - which is even more baffling when you realize that Amazon runs a music service and has handled these types of licenses previously - so now the RIAA is ratcheting up the pressure.

You would think that Woolie (a person who has been a part of a channel that has been paid to create content) would realize this - that you can't criminalize an agreement that two parties make (streamers and publishers/developers). The main issue is that there are parties that didn't make an agreement - namely the RIAA and Streamers (usually via spotify) and that's the main thing in the spotlight.

Basically - no one cares if you stream video games (the entirety of streaming, let's plays, etc) but the RIAA does give a major shit currently if you're just streaming licensed music while doing so. The RIAA has been getting amped up for years by Amazon so stuff like this is going to (and is expected to) happen.

I’m still willing to give them the benefit of the doubt that they grossly underestimated the amount of stuff people would send. I recall Pat, at one point, pointing at a relatively small pile and claiming that’s what they would maybe get over the course of a year, that the mailbag was going to be one or two small things at a time. They did bring up the volume of gifts being a major contributor to ending the mailbag, especially since none of them seemed to drive and they would have to haul it all up to Woolie’s apartment.

Remember when Wollie and Pat tried some hardcore game journalim on the JoJo fighting game and then had to apologize?
On the break up, It was kindda sad that the next year you had MK11, Resident Evil 2 remake and DVM V, but I think the did enough to clarify what needed to be clarified: expect nothing from Matt and Pat together again. I really dont care about the details.
