I never even considered playing with a controller, I didn't even know you couldn't bind r3 to a key command and slap sprint someplace like bar 4 slot 9 then hide it.
FF14, much like FF11 before it, is designed to be playable with a controller. I forget the defaults but you can use L and R buttons as modifiers so that your X/Circle/Square/Triangle buttons can cover a class's full skill list for the most part, absolutely the important parts of their rotation. The console versions also support mouse and keyboard, but some people like sticking with a controller even into savage raids and other high-end endgame content.

The controller support is legit immaculate, there's no argument in terms of play performance unlike in other genres. Snapshotting/server lag equalizes all here.

How fucking hard would it be to go 'I appreciate the enthusiasm but I want my stream to be experiencing the story, not interacting with fans, so I won't be responding to in game stuff. Please try to not interrupt my stream with emotes/tells'?
I know the answer is 'impossible' because Woolie is retarded.
This is actually a problem with all 3 of the guys minus Pat and always has been. They hate confrontation and actually laying down the law in their streams. I remember during that ancient Demon's Souls stream they did with German Spy there was a guy spamming the chat. Matt said to cut it out and Woolie said they should "do the other thing." It's like brother you're a grown man, say stop or you'll get a ban. This baby talk shit just makes you look weak and unserious.
Woolie would rather navigate around the problem than address it directly, that's why he's being a catty little girl.
Pat was the lowest hanging fruit within the group; and would regularly puff himself up to an extent you could feel Matt and Woolie resisting the impulse to deflate with a single, cutting comment - Which is why it was so gratifying to hear Liam's fundamental disdain for Pat as a person come through in these moments. The problem is that Liam regularly came off as having the thinnest skin within a group that also included Matt (which is a fucking feat); and was only making these jabs at Pat out of narc injury incurred in behind-the-scenes bantz.
Liam had no fuse. Rather, he had only a brittle facade that he was willing to quit the channel to protect. Then, when the subreddit dragged the real Liam into the light by pointing to his downvoting history, he slithered away by deleting the account and demanding the mods disallow him from being discussed at all. What Liam has published about himself is an endless series of narc injuries, self-felts, and whining he thinks he can dignify by denouncing certain, politically expedient topics he can't affect - Meaning he's an even bigger histrionic cow than he lets on; is always looking to absolve of himself of consequences he's unwilling to face; and is therefore the most likely of the four to troon out and hang himself for the sake of punishing someone who told him "no."
Woolie's documented, practical contributions to the channel were setting up the podcast, getting the mail for the mailbag, and failing to read the Omikron guide properly. I don't think Liam did anything beyond maybe editing (which I'm pretty sure they all did, what little editing they actually did, what with the constant audio fuckups and barely cutting anything out). So by that metric, Woolie was at the very least a more worthwhile addition to the channel than Liam.
And re:Liam being funny - Liam always struck me as the classic bullied kid who never stood up for himself. Barely seething hate beneath the surface from years of impotent rage, ready to lash out with any number of scathing zingers practiced in shower monologues and only employed in a guaranteed safe and backlash-free environment, but also horribly thin-skinned, where even gentle banter will bring several school years' worth of trauma to the bubbling back up. Essentially, good at projecting an air of confidence when the environment allows, but crumples immediately under any pushback and then starts spitting spiteful venom.
