The Roblox Erotic Roleplay Community - "Roblox's ERP problem began in the mid 2010's as a quiet whisper. Over the next decade, this whisper would slowly grow into a blood curdling scream, audible from every corner of the platform."

Can't believe the genie is finally out of the bottle for Roblox. If Roblox is suing them, my guess is a favorable settlement for Schlep/Ruben in 6 months.

Otherwise, my semi-professional guess is Roblox drops a we fucked up statement by next Wednesday and Dave resigns on a Friday in ~21 days.

an NDA can't stop anyone from testifying in court

That said i'd bet money on this going exactly nowhere. The worst case scenario here is roblox and the DA come to an agreement where roblox publicly bans ERP stuff and the matter is dropped. They then proceed to not enforce said ban and nothing changes
I agree that none of this will really make Roblox change at all, but it's still a PR nightmare. I think the goal here is just to alert as many parents as we can to not let their kids on Roblox as it stands currently. "Total Roblox death" is a pipe dream but the more normies that realize that Roblox is a pedophile-infested shithole, the better. All this is still better than nothing, every little bit of exposure helps.

This news comes as very good news to me because I know for a fucking fact that pedophiles on Roblox and Discord groomed my 14 year old cousin.
There is only one thing that needs to be said.

Bad news, all it's degeneracy will spill over into zillions of clones ala Pandora's Box and big Gubba will use that to justify making Brave New World in real loife.
What if it was all part of the plan? Build a childrens platform, let it fill with pedophiles, and as a company actively fight against groups trying to help. All so big brother has to come in and save the day.

The first time I ever saw Roblox was my friends daughter playing it. If I remember, you couldn't even type numbers into the chat because they would come up as **. I'm guessing that's changed?

Every time I hear about Roblox and its sexual deviancy problems I put myself through a fun little game: how long does it take to find completely and overtly obvious pedophiles on their platform? I've devised a bulletproof strategy to find new ones every time I go on there. It's simple.
First, you go to the Marketplace, and you sort "Classic T-Shirts" by "Recently Published". I'm not fucking kidding you when doing this just now, the very first "shirt" uploaded was some weird abs roleplay thing that bypassed their filter. Absolutely beyond the pale.

Then, go to the group that created it. You might have to click through a couple of pages or click on some suspicious-looking (but not overt) profiles to find these networks of chomos but they will turn up, usually for me in less than ten minutes total.

This time, however, I broke my own record and minimized the total number of mouse clicks possible to complete the game, as the third user listed as a part of this group responsible for making that "shirt" is an age regression fetishist furry (who's a part of multiple ageplay groups and whose account has existed since 2018, not like it was created last week and has thus far slipped under the radar).

I was trying to make a joke out of how easily repeatable this game of mine was but in the process of doing it again to collect demonstrative screen shots I optimized it to death by accident. Roblox's moderation is such a fucking joke, I am howling with laughter. Who do they think they're fooling? Clicking through this person's "Connections" list and their groups would doubtlessly turn up hundreds, if not thousands of accounts, and you can try it too.

Ruben Sim has like 4-5 videos just going through this rabbit hole. It's so pathetically easy to find and somehow Roblox can't seem to do this and just nuke everything they find.

Louisiana Attorney general Liz Murrill is now suing Roblox because of these ERP communities grooming kids and the lack of moderation on the site.

If this goes somewhere I have no doubts Discord will be roped into all of this too. I've always wondered how these grooming rings get so large but always forget that the key infrastructure is pozed with pedos.

Reminds me more of IMVU but much much worse.
IMVU has the AP system which requires age verification and a credit card
to separate adult from children content
but some ppl do make "Black market" stuff that can bypass restrictions to use adult stuff in General Audience rooms
though accounts that use those often get perma'ed and the item gets removed from the database entirely.

also the items that can bypass to General Audience rooms are like 3-5x the price of normal things and looks WAY worse than actual getting AP (access to Adult content)

ROBLOX claiming it cant be done when IMVU already did it for over 2 decades is pretty wild. and proof ROBLOX is a hub of pedophiles.

At any other point in history,I would assume you’re a retarded conspiracy theorist who believes we live in a cartoon young adult novel written by a schizophrenic.
Now I know we do actually live in a cartoon young adult novel written by a schizophrenic, and I am 100% on board with you.

Toontown in particular had pretty good safeguarding in place.
Sorry to self-reply but just wanted to share this article I read some years ago. It's pretty interesting and a stellar example of a developer putting time, effort, and thought into developing a child-focused platform where safeguarding systems balance efficacy with being unintrusive (to a child).

Even in 1996, we knew that text-filters are no good at solving this kind of problem, so I asked for a clarification: "I’m confused. What standard should we use to decide if a message would be a problem for Disney?"
The response was one I will never forget: "Disney’s standard is quite clear:
No kid will be harassed, even if they don’t know they are being harassed."

Compare Disney's attitude to Roblox's and it becomes quite clear where the difference lies. The point is, this shit is possible. Roblox want to spend neither the time nor the money required to make the platform safe. More than that even, they are simply too apathetic or too retarded to have cared about children's safety since very likely day one of development.

Well, I am not suprised at this. i saw a reel yesterday about a youtuber who was catching predators on roblox, and apparently ronlox tried to legally shut him up. now they are getting AG's on their asses and those tactics won't work, this will be interesting.

Roblox is more than aware of the pedo problem. they are actively shielding them.

What the absolute fuck am I looking at here? Are those humongous tumors supposed to be the avatar's legs?

Also, I decided to look for myself and:

I don't care if the lawsuit ultimately lacks teeth, we're not looking for a single knockout blow here, we just need this to stay in the headlines and maintain pressure long enough for, ideally, some kind of legislation down the road. I maintain the issue is the lack of transparency in moderation. They don't answer to anyone when it comes to their safety moderation decisions. They need some kind of oversight to make sure they're actually doing their jobs and effectively banning these predators. That's all that's required. Doesn't even need to be a government agency responsible for it. Just basically a third party security team whose books and practices are open to the public so people see what's really going on and aren't complaining to a moderation team that has no obligation to act. Literally could just pay people like Ruben to handle the issue as outsiders from the company and it's a done deal. But that probably requires some kind of regulatory law to put into place.
