I'm pretty sure "desi" refers to the South Asian diaspora (aka jeets living outside the Indian subcontinent). Wikipedia tells me it's actually a Sanskrit word meaning something along the lines of "native." I agree with @FILTH Tourist that it beats "South Asian" as a term for that ethnicity in general. It's technically true that the subcontinent is located in the southern portion of Asia, but anyone hearing "Asian" in the media is going to think Chinese, Japanese, Korean, etc.

I've witnessed the most Karen liberal boomers in the bluest of states in the US dropping racial slurs about indians. Those cretin bobbleheads have no idea what level of collective negative karma they are cultivating. They are singlehandedly going to bring back Jim Crow levels of collective racism to the North and South.

Seeing those airport terminals packed with deported jeets in Canada gives me a glimmer of hope. There can only be so much shit people can tolerate before it pops off in a way that any governing bodies can hope to reasonably control.
