Why do whites need to do it? South Asian was a product of Jeets and their defenders in the media, they didn't push Desi because they knew what they where doing by mixing Jeets with Asians. If you want the white man to name your people then you are getting stuck forever as Jeets.
Or it's an accurate way to describe the geographical location. Either way, anyone that confuses Indians for Vietnamese people because some Indians use the term South Asian is a retard and it's funny to see people get frustrated over basic facts.
I think it's because, I've always seen the term South Asian as synonymous with India/Pakistan/Sri Lanka, along with all the negative implications that come with that.

Multi-ethnic societies can work. There are plenty of examples in history, such as the Roman Empire, Persian Empire, etc. However, there are some caveats. First, there needs to be a strong, dominant monoculture (Roman subjects practiced Roman culture, Persian subjects practiced Persian culture, etc.) ESPECIALLY in the heartland where the ruling body resides. Second, the ethnicities tended to be from neighboring regions with cultural overlap. The ethnicities need to have more in common with one another than not in common. When the cultures are too alien from one another you get social tension and subcultural competition. For example, the further North you went into Europe the more resistance there was to Roman rule. Or when the Muslims invaded and tried to subjugate Europe, leading to the Crusades. Not every race/ethnicity/etc. is compatible with all the others, and we need to stop trying to cram square pegs into round holes just because it fits into some idiots deluded world view. Human beings are human beings, and not universal and interchangeable. It's the natural order of things, and going against God/nature never goes well. Many of our problems stem from us stubbornly ignoring basic human nature, and calling it names like "racism" and insisting it's evil won't change facts. The truth is always the truth, facts are always facts, regardless of who insists it's actually wrong.

Maybe this is my own ignorance but arent brahmin/brahman the uberich and accredited jeets? I'm assuming the ones who own nice houses with courtyards or ones who manage to become lawyers and genuine doctor-of-medicine doctors are brahmins. I see occasional videos of these arab-indian girls who are uberwealthy and have literal slaves working to help them apply makeup and open their water bottles; Does the jeet caste system just not matter? You can clearly see that not all colonialism/imperialism is good colonialism/imperialism in South-East Europe. Countries that were under Austro-Hungarian rule had high literacy rates, up to 80% (Slovenia, Croatia, western parts of Bosnia and Serbia). At the same time, those stuck under Ottoman rule (pretty much the rest) had a staggeting literacy rate of 20%.
