Or they could've just had him be a positive nihilist that expresses that what happened on Titan is why he wants to end most life in the universe. Nothing matters, and the universe needs to know the same truth he learned when his own race ended themselves in violence.

What the Fuck? I had no interest in this whatsoever and now I read a summary and it actually gives me hope. Biological robots getting rebooted but one still has her memories and their purpose is to protect sentient life so it can be devoured by a Babylonian deity that is about to erupt from the Earth and they're fighting over whether to let it do it or not whilst there's these other creatures called Deviants one of which is Thanos (I thought he was an alien from Titan) which they're supposed to destroy or something? I can't work it out - this whole thing is a complete chaos of concepts and themes all smashed together into a giant mess.

This would be the first Marvel movie I actually want to see since Sam Rami's horror sequel to Doctor Strange got shot down.

Bring it on!
Iirc DS2 was gonna be a horror film starring Stephen and Wanda....but apparently Disney put the kibosh on it? Now they are still doing one with him and Wanda....and Night Nurse is returning.

But honestly where the fuck is Clea? Did she get referenced in the first one at all?

Salma Hayek talked about Eternals in an interview recently, mostly just about how woke and "groundbreaking" it is.
It’s not every day that a Latina woman in her 50s stars in a Marvel movie. It’s something that director Chloé Zhao was very aware of when she cast 54-year-old Salma Hayek to play Ajak in the upcoming “Eternals.”

“Ageism in Hollywood is a very concerning issue that we must stand against as artists,” Zhao tells Variety. “Aging is a beautiful part of life that should be celebrated. It’s really an honor for us to have Salma to lead the ‘Eternals’ family. I can’t take all the credits. When [executive producer] Nate Moore first showed me the treatment, which he worked on with [writers] Kaz Firpo and Ryan Firpo, I was impressed with the age diversity of the characters they put together, and it was a big part of what got me really excited about ‘Eternals.’”

While audiences have only seen a glimpse of Hayek in character, she says seeing herself for the first time in costume was an emotional experience. “I am claustrophobic. I was terrified of the costume. I was terrified. Because if I cannot move and it’s kind of thick… I was like, ‘Oh my God, I’m not going to be able to breathe. It’s going to drive me crazy,’” she says. “And I went to put it on, I found myself profoundly moved. It was a very strange experience because I didn’t expect it. I forgot about how does it fit? Am I going to get a claustrophobic attack? All I could see was, ‘Oh my God, here’s a Mexican female in this outfit and this is really happening. And yes, we get to be superheroes.’”

Zhao adds, “I think we all gasped. She looked so strong and beautiful.”

Zhao has been praised for her inclusive casting of the film, which includes Angelina Jolie, Gemma Chan, Kumail Nanjiani, Brian Tyree Henry, Harish Patel, Barry Keoghan, Mia Dong-seok, Richard Madden and Kit Harington. “I think a lot of people are going to feel seen and that’s important and that’s what matters,” Hayek says.

She adds, “It’s not diverse for the sake of being diverse. It’s the way she chose every single one of us that really creates a family for the purpose of the Eternals. For the purpose of the film. It doesn’t feel forced.”
It’s not diverse for the sake of being diverse.
LOL yes it is. If it wasn't about diversity they wouldn't be using it as the main selling point.

There's also another article where she talks about it, but it's a small part near the end and mostly just about how she got the role, what she knew about the Eternals beforehand, and more sperging about how progressive it is and how she's old, Mexican and a woman and it's important that she has this role.

Holy shit what a fucking lie. Hollywood is all about old people, literally and figuratively, raping the next generation for their talents and afterwards throwing them away. The only "ageism" you can argue about is removing old actors but even that's no longer happening when you have shit like RED which is full of decrepit actors pandering to idiots about the times action movies didn't suck.

Zhao adds, “I think we all gasped. She looked so strong and beautiful.”

"And then everybody stood up and clapped."

I just wanted to save this quote so that when pics from the film are leaked and she looks just ridiculous strutting around in a bulky rubber costume we can all have a good laugh at her expense.

"It's not diverse for the sake of being diverse"
is retarded to say considering if that wasn't the case you wouldn't be hyping it up and changing white characters into non white.

Funny considering
she allegedly dies pretty early on

It's attention grabception. A movie that desperately justifies why people should give a shit for it can only sell garbage woke points that don't work given the history of the Burger King Kids Club mindset that existed in living memory. And an actress who's the big mad she's irrelevant in this bomb of a movie.

I'm amused at how bad/boring this will be.

The Salma Hayek diversity thing is such horseshit. Like, how brave you are to cast an established Hollywood A-lister in this ensemble film! Cast someone the average American hasn’t heard of in the role, then maybe I’ll believe your commitment to diversity.

I'm assuming when you say a-lister you mean Angelina Joile and not Salma Hayek. Salma is a b-lister at least

The more a movie talks about diversity, the worse it will be. This has always been the case. So far everything about the Eternals has been how diverse and gay it is. Just imagine if you're gay and you hear about a superhero movie.

"Ok, but what else?"

"ITS SO GAY LIKE FLAMING"

"No, seriously, what else?"

"IT IS SUPER LGBTQA+ FRIENDLY DUDE"

"That's...really great and all...but what happens? Does it have big explosions or...."

"IT HAS TWO DUDES KISSING!"

"You do know there's like...massive sections of LGBT movies on Amazon and Netflix and Hulu, right? Like just whole entire categories of dudes kissing for 90 minutes without any explosions. Is there anything BESIDES dudes kissing? I can get that anywhere, but big-budget ex-"

"IT SUPER DIVERSE MY GAY FRIEND"

"Ok, this isn't working. I think I'll pass."

"SHUT UP AND EAT THE GRUEL YOU STUPID FAGGOT. WE MADE THIS FOR YOU."

As if gays aren't already brainwashed into being little obedient consoomers of anything that is advertised as "DiVeRsE" or has a troon in it.

The average gay in social media is SIMPing for the troons (the M stands for mockup) with "fAcE iT nAhTzEeS, tHeY eXiSt!". Well, no shit, mental illnesses exist.

You know? If a major motion picture came out and advertised that they were making a movie to appeal to straight white males, I would find that cheap and demeaning, and assume its pandering to hide the fact that the movie has a shit ton of flaws.

Why doesn't everyone else see that?

I wonder if she genuinely believes what she's saying or if it's just what she's been told to say. They've been pushing this movie hard, constantly talking about how it's super diverse and spreading totally real stories about how everyone on set cried when they filmed the gay kiss or that everyone gasped when they saw Salma in her costume, it wouldn't shock me if Marvel told the actors to lean hard on the diversity aspect.

Of course this is Hollywood, so maybe she's just delusional enough to believe her five minute role is actually groundbreaking.

It sounds like they’re nervous about this movie bombing. It’s coming out during a packed release schedule where there will be plenty of other distractions thanks to the covid movie build up.

Oct 15: Halloween
Oct 22: Last Night in Soho
