Alleged plot leak on reddit

This plot summary was sent to us a few days ago, and was followed by undeniable evidence of factual information by the leaker. Please remember that this plot is a very early test screening, and included unfinished FX, temporary music tracks, and probably scenes that will fail to make the theatrical version. However, after several dives into this source's credentials, we have discerned that is a legitimate plot leak for November's Eternals

There is a lot of jumping around in time to give context to various plot points - I don't recall all of the linear order so will just include the info as part of the synopsis
Opening title card explaining the Deviants and Eternals - the Deviants were created by the Celestials to hunt predators that prey on intelligent life on newly evolving worlds, but then they started to hunt the life as well, so Ceestials created the Eternals to kill the Deviants.
Opens 5000 years ago in Mesopotamia a man is fishing on some rocks with his son (?) and is attacked by a Deviant from the ocean. The Eternals show up and a short battle commences, after which they line up in a triangular "hero" pose and this rolls into the Marvel logo opening.
Jumps to present day - Sersi and Dane Whitman are teachers in the UK and dating. During a class lesson, a large earthquake strikes, and Sersi saves a child from a falling object by turning it to sand. Later while out on a date, a Deviant attacks Sersi, Sprite, and Dane; during the battle Ikaris shows up and they fight it off after noting that they thought all the Deviants were destroyed and unlike others, the Deviant was able to heal its wounds.
The group decide to visit Ajak as she was the leader of the group. After arriving at the midwest ranch where she is now living, they discover her dead body, A small golden device leaves Ajak's body and enters Sersi ( this is how she communicated with the Celestials) - they then decide to round up the rest of the Eternals to deal with the Deviants.
Thena and Gilgamesh are in Australia (I think) due to an issue with her memory causing her to randomly attack the other Eternals. Gilgamesh is obviously in love with Thena but it is not played as a romantic relationship.
Phastos and his husband live with their child and he decides to help due to the fact that he has fully embraced the human race and wants to protect his family.
Makkari has been living in the Eternals ship all this time (I guess, since there is a bunch of food containers and mess strewn about.
Kingo is a Bollywood actor ( there is a short dance routine that introduces this) and comes with the group along with his valet (don't recall the name) who tries to document everything on video.
Druig is living in some rainforest controlling a small village of people after losing faith in humanity and wanting to control them to stop war, famine, etc. Gilgamesh is killed fighting the Deviants in the forest.
Sersi learns that the Celestials created both races and that the Eternals are basically just very advanced robots. They seed young planets with a Celestial "egg" that takes eons to mature. The evolving intelligent life on these planets feeds the Celestial's growth, so the Eternals are sent to protect the evolving life forms and kill the Deviants. After the emergence, the Eternals are " rebooted" and sent to another world (this is the cause of Thena's memory issue, as she knows that the planet is doomed) - this cycle has gone on for millions of years. Earth was seeded and Tiamut is about to emerge (this was the cause of the earthquake earlier). Once awakened, the entire planet and all life will be destroyed.
They debate on what to do and some decide to try and find a way to stop the emergence. Ikaris disagrees, Sprite and Kingo are on his side but Kingo agrees to help.
Phastos designs a device (Uni-Mind) that will allow Druig to channel all the Eternals energies in the hope of controlling Tiamut and putting him back to sleep.
Sersi learns that Ikaris knew about the Celestials actual plans and this is why he left the group hundreds of years ago. He killed Ajak because she had decided to help stop the emergence and save Earth.
The group go to where Tiamut is and attempt to use the device - Ikaris and Sprite attempt to stop them. Sersi then uses the device to amplify her power and turn Tiamut to marble just as his hand and part of his head is emerging from the Indian Ocean.
Ikaris flies off into space (towards the sun - unclear if he just left or flew into the sun and killed himself), then Sersi makes Sprite a real human with what remains of her power.
A few days (?) later Thena, Makkari, and Druig leave in the ship to seek out other Eternals and try and stop the cycle of destruction. Sersi, Kingo, and Phastos stay on Earth but are then pulled into space by Arishem and vanish.
The two end credit stingers: 1) Dane is looking at an old box and pulls out a sword that is wrapped up. Just as he is about to touch it, an off screen voice stops him. 2) On the Eternals' ship, Pip the Troll appears and introduces Starfox.

The film gets even more autistic and confusing than it already is lmao
>there's a character called "Pip the Troll"
I was already not at all interested in this movie, but I somehow just got even less interested because of that character's name, alone. This sounds like a confusing mess. Maybe I'll sail the high seas for a copy if the trailer looks alright, but there's a 0% chance I'm paying money for this

Wow, this is somehow more garbage than I thought the film would be if it's true.

Not only do I barely if not at all know who any of these fucks are, but the plot's a confusing pile of horseshit to boot. Starting on the whodats, none of the Eternals are really known to casuals or even guys who are or were comics fans like me, who actually has books on the Marvel Universe that fucking explains all kinds of shit. That's not good; there's no draw here since the only Eternal anyone would know was not an Eternal anymore; Thanos would be the only one any normie would know.

And the constant jumping between random fucks is just going to make this film a meandering mess that makes Rogue One look coherent; too many randos and there's not going to be enough time to cover them. Also it's going way too hard to try and make a team out of them, this shit is like Avengers but without the build-up or the screen presence.

To be honest, the Inhumans WOULD have been a better pick for a movie, since at the very least you can do some shit with that. Blackbolt gets overthrown by his seemingly powerless and insane brother Maximus, who turned out was a powerful psychic and he hid them out of jealousy over being born second. He has to rally the kingdom while not speaking a word, for one whisper can break landmasses. Mute man who has to act from the body could be interesting.

I legit can't think of shit for the Eternals, since again the only one worth a shit was Thanos.

I'm half-expecting them to push this back again. If that plot leak is accurate, the film is a nigh-incomprehensible mess. I don't sense that there was any vision for this movie other than "diversify the MCU". With all the black and gay here, this film is going to bomb hard in China and I don't see anything here that's going to attract US audiences enough to make up the difference.
I have no clue what the fuck Marvel wants with this horseshit, no one fucking cares about the Eternals.

Well, there was Adam Warlock too, but he's been relegated to GotG3, and completely separated from the Infinity Stones, meaning there is less than zero reason to even bring him up. :story:

Yeah, it's too bad they wasted this on a terrible TV show that got canned after 8 episodes.

No Infinity Gems and, probably even worse, no Thanos. Without Thanos there to serve as his opposing force, what's even the point of having Adam Warlock around?

Warlock was never an Eternal, he's an artificial human made by people who wanted to make a race of supermen. He's actually closer to Android Torch and Vision than an Eternal. Oh wait, did they make him that in the MCU? Because otherwise there's none really worth a shit.

Huh, weird. Guess I confused myself since Thanos was one, I thought Adam was too. In any case, my original post here stands, no one really cares about the Eternals.

At least with all the spinning Jack Kirby is doing in his grave, we can power Texas if there's another freak blizzard.

What the Fuck? I had no interest in this whatsoever and now I read a summary and it actually gives me hope. Biological robots getting rebooted but one still has her memories and their purpose is to protect sentient life so it can be devoured by a Babylonian deity that is about to erupt from the Earth and they're fighting over whether to let it do it or not whilst there's these other creatures called Deviants one of which is Thanos (I thought he was an alien from Titan) which they're supposed to destroy or something? I can't work it out - this whole thing is a complete chaos of concepts and themes all smashed together into a giant mess.

This would be the first Marvel movie I actually want to see since Sam Rami's horror sequel to Doctor Strange got shot down.

Bring it on!

Oh the Tiamut thing isn't a god really, it's using the Guardians 2 take on Celestials being like Ego the Living Planet. Earth apparently is like Ego, but a mere baby from what I can gather out of it.

This is a shitstorm fever dream that has as little to do with the original Kirby comics as the Manhattan Yellow Pages does.

Granted, all of Kirby's most creative projects seemed tangential to whatever company's universe he was working for at the time. NEW GODS, KAMANDI (via the distant future), THE DEMON, 2001, even MACHINE MAN, you name it. His imagination didn't need to be grounded by somebody else's framework.

For NEW GODS, aside from the initial Superman connection via the JIMMY OLSEN comic, it took some years for DC to figure out how to integrate the characters...if they ever did, completely? Likewise, ETERNALS just sort of felt like it existed in its own place, separated from all of the intersecting Marvel heroes.

When ENDGAME happened, suddenly reprints of the INFINITY GAUNTLET TPB were again available. Will Disney do the same for Kirby's ETERNALS? Because my recommendation is that we all just go read the original, and ignore this bullshit. That's what I'm going to do.

Eight Deadly Words: "I don't care what happens to these people."

Isn't he still directing? I specifically recall Feige saying Strange 2 was scary during the recent Investors Day thing.
I looked it up and you are correct. A while back I heard both that he had been removed and that they had decided to change the approach. I'm now in a difficult position - on the one hand all this sounds really good. On the other hand having just checked the IMDB page I find that there is a casting for "America Chavez". Frankly I struggle to think of a Marvel character I detest more.

Wow - this is going back some. You know that reminds me that technically the Transformers and Marvel universes are the same - there were cross-overs where Spiderman and Dr. Doom both appeared in Transformers comics. Now that would be mind-blowing! "Thanos has teamed up with Megatron and they're going after the Matrix!"

Pip the Troll is a classic cosmic character in Marvel. He's pretty entertaining, but I feel like Disney is going to fuck it up.

Nah the thing is.

The Titanians are Eternals or some shit that left Earth to live on Titan. Thanos is an odd genetic fuckup that turned into a Deviant. The MCU fucked up Thanos by not letting his classic motivation of wanting to simp for Goddess Death be a thing.

They cancelled the Dr. Strange Multiverse of Madness movie? Goddamn.

America Chavez is a non-issue and no fan actually gives a fuck about her.

Machine Man is cool. He always has been.

Fun Fact: Thanos is to the Eternals as the X-Men are to humans. He's a mutant Eternal who has active Deviant genes. It's actually a syndrome that was native to the Titan strain of Eternals, though it was rare as shit. Thanos made sure he was the one of the only ones left by pressing G to Gas his world, including his parents.

Again, he's the only one worth talking about. Well... I guess you can talk about his brother Eros if you want to, though he's walking sexual harrassment.

Is Thanos still an Eternal in the MCU? I was under the impression that he was just one of many purple dudes (the rest of whom he genocided).

The MCU fucked up Thanos by not letting his classic motivation of wanting to simp for Goddess Death be a thing.

Got to disagree with this bit. The MCU hasn't done nearly the groundwork for introducing actual Death herself as a character. I'm going to be blunt - the idea itself is goofy. Maybe it works in the comics version and also more so, it works with comics readers as a general audience. But you'd get an epic WTF from mainstream audiences.

If you're saying the motivations they substituted in for Thanos in its place didn't make much sense well, I'd agree with you. But it's more on the principle that his actions would simply result in a massive orgy of breeding over the next few generations restoring population but leaving society even more unstable leading to greater ecological problems than before. What he should have done is use the infinity stones to promote Feminism if he really wanted to reduce the population. But anyway, his movie motivations not standing up to scrutiny, I think they're still more acceptable to audiences than saying he wants to bone Death. (see what I did there?).
