Any camera with changable lenses will be a great start. Don't need anything fancy, just a second hand dslr is perfect to begin with. I started with a canon 700D and it was great to learn on. Put more of your budget into a nice lens. You want something with a bit of zoom, 200/300mm is a very nice starting point.I'm thinking of buying a camera to photograph wild birds but I am completely new to photography. Does anyone have any advice? Like a good beginner camera?

Sick cockatoo. I recently got a Nikon D5500 for the same reason. It came with a 55-300mm lens which is pretty much exactly what you'll want for taking bird pics. So far it's been very easy to use and it's light enough to hang on my neck all day during hikes.I'm thinking of buying a camera to photograph wild birds but I am completely new to photography. Does anyone have any advice? Like a good beginner camera?
