I can’t tell if the trans Jax idea was planned from the series conception (I lean towards that being the case and it was just handled so poorly it feels like a last minute addition),
I'll do you one better, Goose just saw the idea floating around in the public consciousness and decided to canonize it outside of the series instead of actually hard confirming it in the work itself.
Works wonders as a way of making your work immune to criticism and having your audience go from hating your favorite character to worshipping the ground they walk on.

BRAVO GOOSE

It is absolutely not. In the finale we get Jax having a sensitive feminine side, a vague argument with his mother, a musical montage of him and Pomni together, and IRL Jax being a well adjusted young man while all the characters continue to use male pronouns for him. The only people pushing Jax is trans is Goose on social media and a few VAs by saying the song about Pomni is actually about Jax and justifying IRL Jax being happy and male is that he is a "boymodder" (closeted tranny) and that Jax uses both pronouns so the characters are totally not misgendering Jax. Also in this weird meltdown Goose also revealed that Jax is into cuckolding, so take that info and do with it as you wish. I think Goose's career is cooked and I think some VA's were willing to follow him out joining him in burning bridges with GLITCH by making the bad finale a weird trans thing.

It's kind of funny, bur I probably would have sympathized with Jax more if he did hit someone with his car in real life.

Now hear me out; a young man who has just recently became an adult accidentally hits someone with his car. The mere shock alone keeps him from stopping and he continues to drive along. Multiple questions are running throughout his mind; Was that actually a person I hit? Why would a person be walking out on the road at night? Are they drunk? Were they trying to commit suicide? Did I kill that person? Should I go back and check to see if they're still alive? Oh God, what if they're actually dead? Do I go to the police? Would I go to jail? It was an accident, right? What would my parents think? What if they had parents? What would they think?

All this guilt and trauma would mess with anyone's psyche, but especially someone who is still rather young. That would explain why he would avoid Ribbit; because she knows what she did. And sure, she has assured him that it wasn't his fault and she doesn't think any different of him...but does she really? What if she's just saying that? What if she does decide to tell the others in the circus? What would they think? It explains why he tells Kaufmo not to believe anything that Ribbit tells him; better to paint her as a liar to others than being revealed to be a murderer.

And that's why he doesn't want to go back to the real world. In his mind, he really has nothing left to live for back there. The guilt and paranoia has been eating at him for the past four years and he has long decided he's taking that secret with him to his grave. And the others can't leave either because there's that small chance that they might actually know the truth.

After a little bit of wrangling, I have managed to make an AI create a more satisfying final meeting between Pomni and Jax.

I'd say the AI did a pretty good job, actually.
Better than Noose, anyway.

The site is a little wonky right now and attachments are broken, you are just reposting the same post over and over.

Name literally any fictional trans person in media. They're always one of the good guys. They always have some sympathetic backstory about their struggles with identity and discrimination and how you're meant to take their side. They're always portrayed as a near perfect human whose flaws are perfectly justified or completely negligible. Try as you might, you can't name a single fictional trans person who's an irredeemable, unlikable piece of shit, whose flaws have unjustifiably costed actual lives, and perhaps threatened even more. None, except for Jax here.

Jax is explicitly goose's self insert and goose never gave jax any benefit of doubt ever. Goose always made sure to remind people to not make excuses for jax, that despite being his favourite character he is not a good person and is irredemable etc.

It will never be funny to me how Goosework 's point with Jax was " Boy wasn't my male self such and asshole? I am so much better as a girlie uwu".

His point definitely wasn't " trans can be irredeemable POS", that's giving him way too much credit, but rather that being a man made him miserable and an asshole. He hates who he used to be.

But everyone else took him as Tumblr sexy man that just needed a nice girl like Pomni to fix. Kids actually like because he is cartoony and silly.

See, even this isn't depicted consistently. What would Queenie have abstracted for? Kinger also mentions something about how Scratch abstracted due to Caine messing with his mind files or something.
This is why Jax's abstraction was so important for the show, and why skipping it is such a huge blunder. We see him get these panic attacks but they seem totally random and could easily be explained as Caine messing with his head. If it's suicide then how does someone abstract? What actions specifically do they need to do for it to happen and what makes it irreversible? They can get shot in the head and don't need to breathe so it's not like Jax can rope himself.

As an allegory for suicide it's maybe halfway there? It depicts a problem you leave for others to have to manage. It's irreversible. And it doesn't actually free you since it appears they are still conscious to a degree. But we never establish conclusively whether abstraction is a conscious choice. If it is, what would make it alluring to someone in the same way as suicide?

can't be fucked to read the rest of this gay thread, but i was genuinely annoyed that the blue AI/Abel wasn't Bubble

Bubble is the only salvageable character, he needs more screentime

as Tumblr sexy man that just needed a nice girl like Pomni to fix.
Why Pomni in particular? Ragatha (best girl) and Ribbit both were open to being his friend and Ribbit got the closest to him but he pushed her away and completely shunned her even when she wanted to help him until she gave up and abstracted. Is the message that girls need to be like Pomni and just have endless tolerance for his bullshit because she is just one more hug away from finally fixing him?
Kinda sad cause she seems like she is actually good at helping people
Thank go funnybunny is finally dead and buried
She strikes me as an enabler. She is fine for cheering up someone who is a little down, but she is ABSOLUTELY the worst person to try an fix Jax because she does not push back on his abuse.

I mean if the creator of the show as well as multiple individuals on the production side are saying Jax is supposed to be trans I take that as a pretty solidly authoritative resolution to the question at hand. The tranny creator wrote a self-insert (by their own admission) who is also trans, big shocker. I do think it was meant to be somewhat ambiguous, either as a way to bait theoryfags or to avoid censorship, and frankly I would’ve respected Gooseworx more had he kept it that way, but that’s frankly too much to ask for a social media addicted tranny to do.

Mental illnesses of TADC:
Kinger - Race mixer
Zooble - Gay
Ragatha - Mommy issues
Gangle - Indian
Jax - Troon
Ribbit- Rejects Jesus Christ as her lord and savior
Pomni - Foid/Maybe Chinese?
Kaufmo - Actually not mentally ill. I wish he stuck around longer
I mean it's called the amazing digital CIRCUS for a reason.

Oddly, I have watched enough media analysis on Youtube to know even trannies can resent revelations made after the fact. A lot of people only count actual canon as what the author bothered to put in their story.

Some also give a second tier value to things done outside of the published canon, but even they are getting sick of delve into my social media for the other half of the story.

I just wonder why GW took the coward's way out on his self-insert when he could have just had the cartoon bunny kids love scream "invert your dick kiddos, boys are bad," It would have been scandalous, but GW doesn't seem like the type to care about scandal or image. It sounds like Glitch cared about marketability. For that honestly just having the characters are archetypes that go on adventures and a status quo would have been fine.

Finished the show, it's fine, the ending is ok, IMO it falls a little flat.
has too much therapy talk, 100% can see someone not liking it.

I think the show would have been much better if it was ~12 episodes and had more time to resolve each characters situation. The ending definitely made them all feel super rushed, and the main bad guy pretty much immediately flips to being good after... using google.

Also the whole Jax being trans thing is just silly, the matrix did it way better. also using the term unhoused is still as stupid as it's ever been.

Crazy that even with all of that, a youtube show completely clears anything Disney/pixar have put out recently. Even with the flat ending.

I watched most of the episodes (I skipped the gun one because too many of them were completely pointless) and eventually I also watched the 'finale'.

When you are a big professional studio like Pixar or Dreamworks or Lucasfilms, and THIS is what's outselling your products ten times over, in the theatres, your entire company deserves to be liquidated and sold to some rando for spare change. I've watched bad stuff, I've watched stuff that was way worse, but I've never seen something at this level sell like hotcakes the way it did.

Just one example to highlight how bad it is. I was watching, and the beginning transitioned over to the song part, and the song was really drawing things out, so I skipped ahead to what looked like the next scene. Suddenly, Zooble is talking about how Jax abstracted and now they've got a repeat of kaufmo's breakout happening. I thought "Wait, wait, wait, that's a MAJOR development to just drop out of nowhere. Did I accidentally skip over a crucial scene?" So I went back, sat through all of it, and no. Not at all, the 'movie' just skips right to the aftermath of Jax abstracting and you never see it. It's not even presented in the form of a silhouette or something like a camera panning away and the viewers hearing it. That was a legitimate 'what the fuck is this?' moment for me.

Then there's the whole mindwalking part of it. Pomni fetches her gun, confronts Jax and then clings onto him and enters his mind. Pomni is completely aimless, she doesn't know what she's doing or what is going on, beyond what she can infer from what she sees. The way it's presented actually posits something that is interesting for a change. It seems like this kind of mind-walking is not something that usually happens, maybe it's even the first time it ever happened, which in turn has implications. Abstracting is the result of an existential break, right? It's psychological in nature rather than a physical condition. Nobody normally 'talks' to someone post-abstraction because they're feral creatures. So, if you can reach the real self of the person inside the mind of one of those three-legged eye-creatures, the way Pomni successfully does, it should be possible to talk them off the edge, pull them out of this state and revert it entirely. This DID HAVE the potential for a satisfying narrative about a long journey through the dark, rescue someone from a hell of their own making and to accomplish against all odds, a feat that was previously thought impossible.

And then they throw all of that away because tranny. Narrative ruined, potential wasted, everything was rendered pointless for the sake of a tranny's wish fulfillment.

It is very clear to me, that Goosenigger's intent behind the entire narrative described above is to serve as a memetic ritual of sorts, where he casts off and kills his past human/normal self so that he can fully double down on trooning out permanently. Jax is his true self, and the entire episode is his attempt to destroy it. In a way, abstracted creatures are an allegory for trannies. On the outside and most of the inside, you have this grotesque, disturbing monster, distorted to the point where it crosses into body horror, that cannot be reasoned with, and somewhere, in a corner hidden away inside their minds, is their true, normal self.

And yes, I know a lot of people would feel tempted to defend this direction because empathy porn where you subject fictional characters to needless hardship and tragedy at the expense of the story's flow with no resolution whatsoever, and often in defiance to the setting's rules, just so that the viewer can have the moment where they feel sorry for the fictional character, is unfortunately a very prevalent trope that dates back thousands of years, known as 'catharsis'. But I'm going to give a take that a lot of people, especially literary scholars, would take issue with:

Empathy Porn or 'catharsis' as something to aim at just for its own sake when writing stories, has always been garbage. Complete and utter trash. It was always cringe. It was shit when the ancient Greeks did it, and it still is shit today. This meme needs to die, and it needs to die forever. In any story written for entertainment, hardship for a fictional character should always be a device to make the recovery, the moment when they overcome the hardship, all the more satisfying. If your story never reaches this post-hardship emergence, then you failed as a writer and shouldn't be writing stories.
>what about stuff like 1984 where the point is that the ending is horrifying
Works like that are not meant to entertain, they are meant as a warning for what to avoid.

Goose-nigger, or Troonworx, whichever you prefer, his writing may be stereotypically bad, if we were to hold it to account for it's vanities and shortcomings, but he's fucking OUR GUY when it comes it accidentally holding up a mirror to how backwards the progressive worldview is. He can't help but tell the truth.
It's a phenomenon I've observed with a lot of similar media where one director or producer has nigh-unrestricted creative control.
  • the creator tries to build the story towards teaching a specific moral or to convey a specific political message
  • the creator pours their soul into the story and tries to emulate the characters in a way that feels natural to them
  • the way the story plays out as the creator tries to make it flow naturally, actually ends up having emerging lessons and messages that run counter to what the creator's original intent was
I don't really see much of that here, but it definitely is a phenomenon. While he does have characters act the way progressives do and their behaviour does make things worse as a result, I don't think he ever had or included the self-awareness to acknowledge that they do. Ragatha makes active efforts to isolate Jax and turn people against him, but the show still frames that as her not doing anything wrong.

Try as you might, you can't name a single fictional trans person who's an irredeemable, unlikable piece of shit, whose flaws have unjustifiably costed actual lives, and perhaps threatened even more. None, except for Jax here.
  • Thomas from Deadly Premonition
  • Lenny Clarkson/'Lena Dauman' from Deadly Premonition 2
  • Buffalo Bill from Silence of the Lambs
Afterall, Why would the current year post-fandom internet care about zooble or ragatha over jax? They didn't even get their own episode while Jax got an entire show about him. He is the one that matters. The main character.
You could completely delete Zooble and Gangle from the series and nothing would change, except that some of the padding scenes designed to indulge gender identity freaks would be gone. A unanimous improvement.

While it's not stated in the show, and most of the theory comes from nitpicking, you have good reasons to say "no", but the author is a perma-online troon that OUTRIGHT STATED that Jax is trans. TADC didn't seem like trannycore slop, but the signs are there: 60% of the cast is trans, "abstracting" is allegory to suicide, etc.
I'd say the scene where they put Jax in a maid dress is very clearly aimed at playing into Goose's gender/feminization fetish.

The ‘main plot’ of a series can serve as a MacGuffin, and is in fact a pretty common device in TV series. Sometimes it’s limited to the first episode or the first season, and other times it just kind of peters out and everyone forgets about. Sometimes it is used to show the character growth itself: the main character changes in such a way that the ‘main plot’ becomes irrelevant (anime relies on this a lot, simple example is Pokémon).
Completely abandoning the main plot is not the solution either. Yes, making a story with massive turns and situational changes makes changing anything about the story very difficult, but even if you go for more of a slop format where only the first and last episode really focus on main plot, you should include bits across the fillers, and have it all come together at the end. Not doing that causes people to tune out entirely after a while.

I can’t tell if the trans Jax idea was planned from the series conception (I lean towards that being the case and it was just handled so poorly it feels like a last minute addition), but it is interesting how the main source of criticism for the series was its incessant focus on Jax and now that the trans shit is confirmed people angry about that can now just be dismissed as “transphobic”.
It's very obvious what the idea is, as other people have pointed out back when the end of it was first shown. Jax is Cooper's real/pre-tranny self. If you compare his human form from the ending to photos of cooper when he was an emo teenager, it's an exact match. The entire thing is, as someone else said, Cooper going "I would be so bad and evil if I wasn't trans".
