ITT let's imagine an AU where SOMA is not a shocking twist at the end but is revealed at the beginning. Based on this, let's utilize their digital nature to imagine plot scenarios.

Here's mine:

After Caine goes full AM, he creates a copy of each cast member (in a way that the viewer and cast can't tell who is "original" and who is a "copy") and sets up an adventure where each character has to compete with their doppelganger, and the loser will be deleted.

Holy shit, that premise alone sounds a million times more creative and interesting than any of the shit Cooper could've ever come up with.

I found this beauty on Instagram after the announcement of the collaboration with Fortnite.

I would love to see more of these kinds of images; they are the truth that people don't want to accept.

It's curious that they specifically used Gooseworx's avatar for this, when Gooseworx said that they only directed and wrote the show and nothing else.

In any case, the artist should use Modern SMG4 instead. He represents Glitch and the Big Indie corporation much better.

So this whole show was the high concept of "I have no mouth and I must scream" with a dab of SOMA (which is itself derivative of sci-fi books in the vein of Greg Egan et al) but instead of digging into those concepts most of it is meandering low-agency filler? Damn

Not only that but the endgame is supposed to be the self insert of the troon creator is a troon himself. Hell the status quo is restored once they are with Jax arc

I'll recommend another "eternally trapped with nothing to do" story since we all need some good literature to further stomp on the tranny clussy show.

"The Last Answer" by Isaac Asimov is a short story about a man named Murray who after dying comes into contact with a higher power being that "almost" knows everything. It doesn’t identify as "God" or any label that humans have come to title higher entities, but does inform Murray that it is apart of something greater than what it is when speaking to him one on one; like "a single cell trying to communicate with a group of cells that makes up a blue whale".
The story reveals that instead of Murray ending up in heaven or hell, he is forever left to be completely alone in eternal darkness, with nothing to do but to think for this being's amusement. It's not all pointless however, as while this being knows "mostly" everything after billions of years of existence, it does not know how it came to be in the first place. And so seeing this as an obtainable goal, Murray sets out to think where the being came from as a way to "best" it in its so-called "all knowing knowledge" and hopefully "defeat" it. While incomprehensibly unlikely, he's got all of eternity to think about it.

I'm sure someone could come up with a better story/ending to TADC with this, but at this point any story not written by current year literature is better than TADC's writing.

it's primarily slapstick dnd adventures pretty much but with the designated 'sit down and have characters talk time"
I wish that they went on DnD adventures as those have some sort of goal. As I kept saying, the characters are passive and don't really need to do anything.
  • Episode 2 the adventure was a good introduction, get back the stolen truck in this mad max parody. The cast is shoved in a truck and forced to interact and TRY to work together to complete the mission.
  • Episode 3 was ok, A group was doing most of the work while B group just had a tea party.
  • Episode 4 is when Gooseworks gives up, just get through a shift as a fast food worker which most of the cast just fuck around until the time runs out. It isn't like Caine gave them a goal to work towards like sell 1,000,000 burgers so they actually need plan and work together (and also emphasize the monotony of service work).
  • Episode 5, again none of the adventures really matter, it isn't like they actually need to win the softball game so it doesn't matter that Ragatha likes softball and teaches Gangle how to pitch.
  • Episode 6, the battle royal thing was ok, but needed stakes.
  • Episode 7, Characters do nothing while an NPC does most of the work helping them escape, get mad when thing that seems too good to be true was too good to be true.

It starts off with a good premise, then the adventures stopped having any goals or stakes, then goose just has the characters mostly stay in the big top for the last few episodes because the show's main premise doesn't fucking matter and Goose just drops it LIKE EVERY OTHER FUCKING IDEA HE HAS IN THIS SHOW!

Dude that's obviously supposed to be sarcastic. "Big Indie" Glitch is eating up Epic Games and forcing "struggling industry musician" Stevie Wonder to sign a contract. It's a TADC fanboy using dishonest exaggeration to denounce criticism of Glitch's corporate behavior.

Like seriously how fucking dense on the spectrum are you niggas. I'm autistic as shit and even I could tell it was being ironic.

The fact that it's made by a disgusting Anisa Jomha looking troon is just the paint on the pink elephant in the fucking room.

It's more obvious when you turn the model to the side rather than looking at it from the front.

If the legs were the same she would have a point but they aren't so she doesn't. The idea of conflating clothing with physical attributes reminds me of Gooseworx posting the character bases a while ago. With them you get a good idea of how a character should look at all times regardless of what they're wearing.
I like that even "naked" pomni still has her hat.

You could figure out roughly when this takes place in timeline by if Jax has his tail or not.

you've hit upon another major problem with not just TADC, but modern Western animation as a whole. These creators make shows nominally for children, but actually cater to adolescents, who are by definition emotionally immature, and emotionally immature adults like themselves. The feedback loop of all of this is that, when young adults are consuming stuff intended primarily for kids, the stuff that should be for kids becomes more adult in nature. But not in a mature way, because they're catering towards these fandoms of young adults who are themselves immature.
Incoming pretentious rant. I once heard that Twilight Zone is enjoyed by creatives, whereas not-creative people don't like it for the most part. I thought this was BS, but then noticed more and more since.

I say this because when non-TADC people see Caine, they say something like "they must have been on drugs when they made this" or say "it's some kids show", and dismiss it outright.

I wonder if something similar is going on here.

After Caine goes full AM, he creates a copy of each cast member (in a way that the viewer and cast can't tell who is "original" and who is a "copy") and sets up an adventure where each character has to compete with their doppelganger, and the loser will be deleted.
That sounds a lot like the baseball adventure.

I wonder if "big indie" will unironically become a thing. It's already starting to happen in gaming.

Thinking on it, I'll be real had this show not been made by a troon like Goose I would have a much more favorable opinion about it.
And yet, because that's not the reality we live in and I now know the full lore of Goonworks executions are in order alhamdulillah.

One of the more legitimately confounding things and wasted potential about this show is how just...relatively passive and non-decisive everyone is, even the more center-stage characters like Pomni and Jax didn't completely escape this, this is a story, people should do things that actively progress it, they could have made a point on how the circus was actively sucking the fun out of their life to the point they barely care anymore, but they didn't really go with that as a forefront issue surrounding the cast.

I'm personally not against the concept of "therapy sessions" like a lot of people in here apparently are, the real problem is the show just constantly uses the trope as a crutch for character development, as it makes it possible to do all of that in just a couple scenes lasting a few minutes, but that's not how naturalistic and believable character development works, you have to build it up slowly, and deliberately, flesh out who the character in question is, you know, have them function like a real person, you CANNOT rush character development, people just don't work like that, otherwise the dramatic story you're trying to tell just falls apart.

We see very little of how the cast actually functions as a social network, make all the headcanons all we want, but what we see in the show isn't very much, Jax is a prick, Ragatha feels insecure and isolated, Kinger is kooky, and Gangle and Zooble just kind of there.

Meticulously flesh out the cast first, have them actually struggle together under the weight of the circus and treat each other as something like close friends, and then you can have your therapy sessions, now your big dramatic climaxes work for real, as we, the audience have seen how these people have worked together, we have experienced alongside the cast the trials and tribulations the story has given to them.

If you're going to try actual drama and character arcs, please, PLEASE fucking commit to it, don't make half-measures.

I onced liked TADC.

I watched the first episode of the show when it came out.

It was alright at best.
I watched the next episodes out of curiosity. with episode after episode, it became boring and predictable, and soon i became disinterested. Then the movie leaked. I was severly dissappointed with what was infront of me. All of those theories and lore tidbits weren't even answered, and the entire thing focuses on jax, with an ending that is objectivley terrible. After that, i went to rewatch the previous episodes. I started noticing a pattern.

Each episode was a therapy appointment for one character.
all of the lore tidbits and the clues gooseworx gave to his audience meant nothing.

It was just empty promises.

Caine's story didn't matter. Ragatha, gangle and kinger didn't matter. Jax was the main character this entire time and fans were too stupid and retarded to see it. the entire thing was gooseworx's vent piece and jax was her troon insert. We were all played for fools.

And you know what...... i'm happy people are finally criticizing it.
I'm happy people are finally waking up to the fact that gooseworx is a terrible writer with certain fetishes she want to push on her audience.
I'm happy that people are starting to recognize that glitch productions is not an indie company,
Glitch is just disney with a different mask and leaders.

Also this leads me into a bigger rant i have:

I am sick of relatable characters. I am sick of characters who are gay or trans or some other mental illness. I am sick of male leads who are faggots and are weak or evil or cucked.
I am sick of shows that are specifically targeted to twitterfags and reddit cucks. I am sick of indie shows using plushies to makret themselves and make money.
I am sick of shows having jokes where they don't belong, "deep" ideas and constantly having some edgy subversion to the plot.

I want less relatable characters, less subversion, less faggot yaoi and yuri ships, and less "deep" themes.
But what i do want is more sincerity, more ACTUAL SERIOUS TONES AND NOT JUST HUMOR WITH SOME SERIOUSNESS, but most importantly, i want a setting that takes itself seriously.

i just want a good show

also hi i'm new here
