i had a private conversation with @Judge Dredd about the clown show and he made me realize that my criticism of it hasnt been exactly constructive so i'll try and offer some observations on how id improve the clown fest
- get a more diverse range of voice actors. all of the voice actors are dumpy 30 somethings with limited vocal range with similar accents i would fire them all and hire a vast range of voice actors with better range and with different accents i.e
give teeth man a mid atlantic accent
rabbit like a new yorker accent
chess guy a british accent
stupid doll a southern accent
that'd go a long way making the characters unique other than their plain american accents.
- id get rid of shapes ribbons and that dumbass bubble they add little to nothing except annoyance
- limit the therapy speak and staring into the screen
the godfather had scenes of micheal staring into the screen but they had different meaning like his cold rage at moe green or his lonely sorrow at the end of the second film.
clussy's stares mean one thing oh jeez im having a heckin' panic attack they don't need to happen every two minutes.
- give us time to get to know the characters before you put them through torment and "trauma"
i dont care that the smoke monster dog is chasing clussy i dont know clussy it makes no difference to me if she dies
id be like if in jaws quint got eaten by the shark in their first encounter i wouldnt care that much because we havent had the uss indianapolis monologue (alone that scene is million times better than the clown show go watch it judge dread if you dont believe me)
- make the characters stop being fun killers
remember skylar from breaking bad? most people hated her because she would pull the viewer outta their druglord fantasies by bitchin' and naggin' every character except teethman and the rabbit do this in the pilot fuckin' live a little its not fun to hear about how much it sucks to live in clown world
im not a child i get that'd it would suck
this would all make the show at least tolerable
anyhow hope my criticisms reach coopy's ears before he 41%'s
I have gone out of my way to be 100 percent ignorant of what this show/series/whatever is about. That ended when I decided to watch the Kiwi Casino as that was my first viewing of the material.
Yuck. Everyone and everything in the show looks the barely distinguishable from each other so there's nothing unique, and yet they all hardly look how they're supposed to. It's Inside Out for retarded adult children on medication; instead of normal emotions like 'joy, sadness, fear, anger and disgust', we get 'sass, hysteria, fatigue, envy, depression and unwarranted self-importance'.
