Can you link it?, how long has this guy been doing this?, because creating a 20-30 minute animated video with multiple VAs is a lot more complicated and expensive than you think.

This series began 4 years ago; most episodes are no more than 10 minutes long, except for the most recent one. It's worth noting that he takes his time making each episode, and then uploads a video showing the process of creating it. In each of these videos, he makes a sculpture of the dinosaur that's the main character of the episode, as if that weren't enough.

Potential hot take, but I think the other episodes are mostly fine in this regard. If you notice, every note I had about the finale, Episode 8 actually did it. A central conflict that the characters take in active part in trying to resolve, natural exposition that moves the plot forward and clears things up, and everybody gets some time in the spotlight and some character development.

The scene where everybody gets to confront Caine and finally tell them what they really think after repressing it for the entire series is probably the most satisfying and cathartic moment in the whole show, and the sequence where Caine has a massive tantrum and tortures them all feels genuinely unnerving and the natural conclusion to everything that was built up by that point.

Episode 8 is so much more cohesive than 9 that I'm almost sure 9 was rushed due to the theatrical deal.

There was probably a general narrative outline in advance with the finer details getting ironed out with each new script. Like when you're writing a superhero story, you know the hero and the villain are gonna fight at the end, and the hero is probably gonna win, but you hammer out everything else as it goes.

It's been said upthread, but 'planned in advance' doesn't mean 'is actually thought out'.

Basically, Glitch productions sources it's shows by gathering people who failed to make ground in hollywood, and offering their chance to make their own creator-led shows. The problem is that the pool they're gathering from aren't necessarily the unpolished gems or the spurned auteurs, but actually the people least willing to compromise on their perfect vision. This means that glitch tends to get people who are really stubborn and resistant to outside influence, and it's a matter of luck if that project is something truly amazing or just a spergatory passion project/trauma dump. Digital Circus is merely something that managed to pretend to be the former, only to reveal itself as the latter over time.

This is animation so I’m assuming like half of these retards are review bombing it while three and two stars are more accurate. Animators are some of the most autistic retards you will meet. Like all theatre kids or dramafags, they will do it for free with the assumption that they’ll be rewarded later/ worked like dogs because the animation lead promised the sky and they willingly worked for free with some convincing.

Imagine, instead of recap of the series and padding out the screen time with ep 8, the movie started a 1:1 copy of that clip.
All the NPCs from the previous episodes exclaiming "Caine is dead", while forming a line to attend the funeral. The protagonists standing around the open grave, quiet and confused, witnessing the casket being hurled into the void.
