This is my theory based around armchair psychoanalyzing a deranged, mentally ill, tranny. At this point, I'm feeling bad for Cooper. I recognize the messages western culture has told young men in this art. He's trying to make a joke of it, but he's already internalized it.
Saw someone point out how bizarre it is that both Ribbit and Kaufmo seemed to not have any close relationships outside of Jax even though they were in the circus with eachother and with Ragatha first.
Real 'whenever poochie is not on screen, everyone should be asking 'wheres poochie?'' energy, its like these characters dont exist at all outside of servicing his arc.
Kaufmo and Ribbit got the worst of all, they're basically plot devices for jax angst, but i saw some criticism of this to all characters outside of jax. The main cast technically barely knows anything about each other. Zooble and gangle orbit each other, kinger does nothing until he's magically allowed to give a pep talk and ragatha has no friends at all lol.
Someone even said that that conversation in episode 6 between pomni and jax should've been Jax and Ragatha because it would make too much sense. Ragatha asking "What would you do if i abstracted tomorrow?" to Jax is a lot darker and heavier because she was friends with jax and knows what happened to kaufmo and ribbit.
But ragatha can't say that because she is not allowed to be a main character. Her entire relationship with jax only exists to give Jax more angst. Instead it has to come from someone who was on the circus for a week and befriended jax in one day. Basically a stranger asking you what you would do if i died tomorrow.

One of the most unintentional great joke of the final episode is near the end when Pomni says "Thank you Ragatha, you were the first friend i made in the circus".
I'm sorry wat. I think even the strongest shipper would say they were not friends, or at least not the first friend pomni made. Not only pomni avoided ragatha for most of this show, they never had one bonding moment anywhere close to what she had with gumigoo, kinger or jax.
Here's another story that's better than TADC that tackles the concept of, even if they're happy in there for now what does an eternity of happiness actually mean?
