The Amazing Digital Circus - Western Isekai that probably will become Hazbin Hotel killer

There's no question the leaked finale was still raw. The only question is if they're actually gonna finish cooking it or try to serve it and call it "Blue Rare."

Instead of a writer or an animatior, they should consider hiring a skilled veterinarian to resuscitate it.
If you mean animation polish, it’s possible. They gave a rough copy for translations, hence the copy that leaked. There’s a small chance they had time to do last minute changes

If you mean major fixes like overhauling it, rewriting it, and fixing that mess , it’s already too late. It has been too late for 2 months. Theaters already got their copies. Voice acting is already set in stone. They already did the big announcements and publicity withh dates . Even if they wanted there’s just not enough time.

That’s even assuming they even have issues with the finale for them.to even want to change it . They don’t. Keep in mind GLITCH knew the finale in advance and still decided to make it a movie. As far as they are concerned the leak itself is the issue not the movie.

Not "major." I'm talking minor fixes, things like ADR or edits. We don't know how "set in stone" this cut is because we have no idea when it was acquired or where it came from, We don't know if it was a dub copy, a test screening, or whatever. By some estimates it's been called "80% finished" which leaves some wiggle room.

I don't expect an entirely different movie, but I'm not ruling out the possibility of one or two new scenes, some tightened editing, some visuals, etc. You'd be amazed how even small changes can add up.

It isn't impossible, and stranger things have happened in movie production before. At the same time, however, I wouldn't get your hopes up too high, since there's such a wall production window.

My overall thoughts are: don't make definitive statements this early, wait and see, but don't gas yourself up because it may lead to disappointment.

No he abstracts aka becomes a literal retarded vegetable that becomes pomnis pet that she keeps in its own tent while other abstracted like queenie etc get put in an aquarium. Dude is braindead, the abstracted are basically jellyfish.

No shot the memes of Jax being on all fours and being a dog are actually true... That is actually comedy gold and he 100% deserves that fate for the way he treated the others throughout the series ("trauma" be damned, he's still a POS who should've abstracted in the earlier episodes so we didn't have to suffer with his unbearable presence).

We'll have to agree to disagree on this, because I don't think being kind of cunty is a good enough reason to justify someone turning in a Great Soft Jelly thing after begging not to die.

Don't even get me started on comparing this leak to the actual ending of either version of IHNM.

You have a point; I just don't find him to be a very worthwhile and thrilling addition to the cast. Every single interesting aspect about him that may be setting up for either expansive character development or a satisfying redemption arc is thrown away as if the team simply gave up at the end... And, no, they cannot blame the fanbase for this, even though they typically do like a bunch of whiney fags, as they told us all at the time of the pilot that they had already prepared the whole story in advance. Anyone else remember those keywords that Goose gave to some random Tumblr anon who asked him to describe each episode?

So, back to Jax. NPC in some random adventure? Sure. Main character who can influence the story on a whim? Absolutely not.

I understand Goose wanted some queer characters to project his body dysmorphia (Zooble), trauma (Jax), and sexuality (I guess Gangle w/ Zooble) in a major indie project... But it is incredibly obnoxious. I thought Glitch wanted the characters to remain neutral and to not start any drama i.e. "Shipping Wars"? LMFAO. Troons gonna troon.

It's funny because some people say Dana's Knights of Guinevere is way more "woke" when we have Steven Universe 2.0 over here with the gay, therapyspeak nonsense-- And Gameoverse will simply pick up where TADC leaves off.

Folks, I have primo content for you tonight. I just scored actual undoctored footage of PPP watching the Digital Circus finale with no context:

nah he just watched the first three epsiodes and hated them. Fair enough lmao.

Speaking of jumping into the final episode without context:
I've been thinking more about this, and I just had to marvel at how miserable of an experience it'd be to watch this ending out of context without any of the buildup before it. Starting with the leak is almost definitely the worst way to start the series. It certainly makes sense that starting at the end is a bad idea, but this one in particular I think is uniquely bad.

Like, even the confused parents bringing their kids to see it in the theater will at least get to see Episode 8, which has a lot more interesting stuff going on in terms of visuals and action, and has a much more initially interesting premise: Episode 8 is about an insane computer god who used to be nice losing his shit and turning evil, and a bunch of colorful cartoon characters have to stop him. The Episode 9 Leak is about an ambiguously gay or bi emo rabbit boy having an emotional breakdown and a midget clown girl who doesn't do clown stuff going into his brain to try to stop him from dying.

The leak (theoretically) only works if you have buildup beforehand. I'm gonna go over how someone who actually likes the show might see it vs someone who has no idea what's going on:

If you don't spend an entire season with the bright and saccharine circus world and see how broken and insane it is under the surface, you don't feel the impact of seeing it all dark, dead and lifeless, mixed with the bittersweet knowledge that the characters who were imprisoned by it are finally free and might have a chance to rebuild it into something better.

If you start with the leak, you just see a spooky abandoned circus that you don't have a reason to care about. It might as well be the Five Nights at Freddy's Pizzeria but without the spooky animatronics and hilarious phone guy.

The appeal of Jax as a character is that he starts off as a douchey, mischievous young punk who acts all cool and also has a scam-artist vibe to him, but slowly as the show progresses you start to see him act more casual and friendly, and then you start to find out his douchey behavior is just a facade to mask deep emotional insecurities and guilt, and slowly you watch that facade crumble as he psychologically deteriorates. It's (to me) an interesting character study on what can make someone act like a jackass and what happens when their coping mechanisms start to fail. You learn he has all sorts of fucked up secrets he's repressing and you become fascinated with finding out the mystery behind them.

If you start with the leak, Jax is a loudmoth, whiny, douchey, emo femboy rabbit right from the start who just complains, says horrible things to people, runs away to cry in the dark, and then mutates into a fucked up blob monster for no discernable reason. Then you spend the next 40 minutes learning about all his baggage and all the weird shit he thinks with absolutely no context for why any of it is important. The Ribbit scenes are some of the only stuff from the leak I'd actually call "great" but again, if you don't have the buildup where you see her sadly looking at pictures of her and getting suddenly uncomfortable when he sees her old room, you don't really have much reason to care that they got in a fight. It's not even like his has any agency in his own downfall because Abstraction is just a thing that happens when you "lose hope." So it's literally "he got so sad he fucking died."

Pomni's appeal is that she starts off as a clueless, helpless and totally confused newcomer to the circus but as she slowly grows closer to everyone, she becomes the change agent that actually manages to break the status quo and find the answers everyone's been missing. Her relationship with Jax becomes a focal point because it represents the part of her that seeks to take action, save everyone and fix the problems that everyone else has already given up on. It represents the payoff for her character arc, and how she's gone from a frightened pushover to the hero of the show.

If you start with the leak, Pomni's just some weird midget clown girl who wants to rescue her emo femboy rabbit boyfriend from literally dying of depression, and again, you don't really have a reason to care about him because he's just been a whiny dickhead the whole time. So the main emotional crux of the "movie" is totally gone.

I'm not saying the standard for a good story ending should be that you should be able to remove everything that came before it and have it still feel like a complete and satisfying story on its own. That would be ridiculous. Hell, I'm not even saying the decision to make the ending more interpersonal and character-focused is a bad idea, because there's plenty of great stories that do exactly that.

What I *am* saying is that if you aren't already invested into the show, I can't see this finale appealing much to you. And when many of the people who *are* heavily invested think it's disappointing... hoo boy...

Wanted to expand on what I mean by these indie animation shows feeling like bad fanfictions of themselves:

Hazbin Hotel - Premise: A hotel that attempts to reform evil people to be good. What you would expect from the premise: Each episode is about a new guest and the main characters struggling to manage them, let alone reform them. Actual content: A grand arch-narrative about a battle between heaven and hell, with lots of musical numbers and attempts at emotional pathos that fall flat because they feel rushed and unearned.

Helluva Boss - Premise: A group of ambitious but incompetent would-be-hitmen who murder living people on behalf of the dead who want revenge. What you would expect from the premise: Each episode is about a new attempted murder plot that goes hilariously awry, as the intended victims outsmart the main characters. Actual content: A gay romance between the main character and a giant owl demon cheating on his wife.

TADC - Premise: A group of people are trapped in a virtual cartoon world and must occupy their minds with inconsequential adventures to avoid going insane. What you would expect from the premise: Each episode is about a silly scenario where the characters deal with a new monster of the week. Actual content: An extended therapy session where one character is evidently being used as a self-insert for the writer's own issues and character interactions full of "will-they-won't-they" without having already been given a reason to care.

Final takeaway: Indie animators are naturally self-indulgent creatures, and they need an actual studio to reign them in and do something other than use the property as a way to hawk plushies and t-shirts.
Tangential but no less true, I remember seeing a video thinkpiece on why these shows feel like fanfictions of themselves:
  • They have terrible pacing. The arcs don't have a consistent length, there's rarely sufficient buildup or a satisfying payoff, plot points are added or dropped at the creator's whim, and the rate of characters' development may vary wildly (if they develop at all) over the story. Not unlike a fanfic author who only writes a new chapter when they feel like it, never plans ahead, and they don't have an endgame in mind.
  • Much like fanfics, they assume the audience already is familiar with the material. If you're reading a Harry Potter fanfic that starts with Ron inviting Harry to spend Christmas with his family, it makes sense because you already know that Harry is an orphan and Ron is his best friend. In Hazbin Hotel, the flapper chick is introduced halfway through the season singing "IT'S ME-E-E-E-E!" like you should know who she is and why she's a big deal, because Vivziepop writes like her only audience is megafans who follow all her socials and Q&A videos and already know the whole cast of characters.

This faggot has been coping about the movie leak and insisting it's not real because "muh theories n sheet, I don't need to actually see it because 4d chess!1"

Alright, apart from his insufferable stubbornness, what the hell is he talking about? he keeps mentioning a supposed "chinese leak" that he keeps saying "no bro thats japanese"

Also the idiot says theres ciphers in the whole show and that the pieces are slowly connecting or some crap and that the whole show is an ARG.

No???????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????

If TADC was an ARG i think there would be actual ARG stuff happening in a social media or something????

Also he kept bringing up the merch videos in his supposed theory.

The fucking plushie and whatever else merch videos which a normal fucking person would assume they aren't canon

He says if he's wrong in the end he'll do whatever the top comment says, lets make him kill himself

TADC has occasional social media stuff, like the website occasionally changing based on the recent episode, and turning to static after Caine "died." Or the occasional short clip showing characters interacting, etc.

But it isn't even close to anything I'd call an "ARG." It's very much bonus material. Which is good because I absolutely fucking hate "ARG" shit where you can't just sit down and enjoy the series in one package. I mean, I've liked ARGs before, but generally I hate that storytelling format.

The residents of that real life street Goose featured had better stay strapped for when his dumbass fans go harressing random people again.

Just a couple of more tweets by Goonwork that seems fixated on hating on women for no reason except feeding his own AGP desires.

Like, why would you make this type of tweet otherwise?

Keep in mind that there is not a single mention of this in the episodes, or the finale, Jax never ever apologized for anything, and the bullying just got swept under the rug.

I hope a mass ACK-stracting event is going to happen, with all the copers going to the theaters and seeing with their own eyes that the series they obsessed over ended in such a lacking way. Of course Glitch can delay the release and try to save it. It is possible and quite frankly they should just read this thread and they would see a bunch of better ideas, but I doubt they will change anything.

I always hated Gooseworx's "boohoo woe is me, i'm so detached from everyone teehee, i'll pretend to be sarcastic and deadpan now" attitude. We know you're scared, COOPER. We know you're not any different from the other trannies who don't hide behind sarcasm. We know you're pushing Gangle/Zooble rule 34 into children's movies. We know you trooned out to cope with your conversion therapy trauma. We know you will always be a disappointment to your parents.

Jeez he looks so soulless. His eyes give me the feeling that he took something .

I admire your optimism if nothing else.
